The new Miasma is bad and doesn't make sense.

It doesn't give vision and it no longer functions as a self-peel or setup for Q, which Cassiopeia was heavily reliant on before it was changed. With these changes, she's being bent over by assassins and mobile melee champions even worse than she was before.

If you didn't play Cass before, or just weren't good, the primary use of Miasma was to either drop it on yourself after being jumped on, or drop it on a nearby champion to ensure they're slowed while your Q lands. The strong slow it gave allowed you to make distance and ensure you could get an ult off on whatever jumped you. If you tried to ult in place, good players would just step through you or into your model and completely avoid it.

This iteration is useless, except as a zoning tool. Even if you throw it at a champion who is at range and you expect to use some gap closer, they'll just blow their mobility towards you before it hits the ground, making it pointless.

Can this be fixed? I'd rather have some way to protect myself when an assassin or melee champion jumps on top of me.

You can still drop it on yourself or very close to you behind yourself. The only real issue is the no vision but is that really an issue?

I'd say so.

This is 100% wrong, the minimum range is about Cass's auto range.

Really? I coulda swore I saw it dropped like all stacked up very close to Cass a few times... maybe they changed it from then? I haven't seen it really since the update went live.

It stops at terrain, so if you're next to a wall you can still drop it on yourself, but it takes some work.

Rofl, playing more Cass and this is fucking terrible against Diamond+ players. Literally unplayable without Miasma. Anything that melees will just stagger step around Q. You needed Miasma to ensure a Q would land, because it dropped instantly.

It's like a zoning tool that doesn't really do anything useful.

How does a 40% slow that also prevents all mobility not set up for a Q? New Miasma is FAR better for setting up a Q than before, there's actually nothing the enemy can do at that point to dodge it.

It has a minimum range of 550, but it's bugged so that you can only drop it at 800 range. You cannot drop it on yourself or control how far away it lands, only the direction.

When you use it, your target is either beyond it's range and will stop before reaching it and wait for it to despawn, or they're already in range and use mobility/gap closers before the projectile lands lands. It's pretty much entirely useless.

This isn't very viable in top lane, and even less viable at mid lane.

What are you talking about? Miasma's range works fine. Anyone who owns her can test in a custom game.

Try to cast it at 550 range. It will always go to 800 range. And this doesn't change the second paragraph, which is why it's useless.

Why would you lie?

2 and 4 were with click-casting, 5 and 6 were quick casting through a button press

You are forgetting that it's a decaying slow, and it decays very, very fast. Also, any effect that the zone has will instantly disappear once you leave the AoE. The area isn't very deep, so usually you can just walk out of it.

The old Miasma refreshed a poison, that would last a bit even if you left the area. That fact alone made in 10 times more effective.

40% to 0 over 5 seconds and the cast time for Q is 0.4 seconds. That is still a higher strength than 25% by the time the Q lands, and the width of W is wide enough that they shouldn't be able to walk out of it by the time you finish casting.

Just try that in a real game(not a bot game) and tell me how it went. What you described is a perfect case, that just seem to exist in reality. You also ignored about 80% of what i wrote.

The worst part of the new W is that it doesn't slow and poison for 2 sec. This was very important. No one stays for 5 sec in the zone.

It stops on the first terrain it encounters, maybe try to stick near a wall when you think you are about to be jumped on. (I get what you are saying and agree really.. but try this for now)

The terrain interaction is going to get removed next patch anyway, so there is no point getting used to it now.

It didn't really work in the first place. You only get half of the aoe since half of it is in the terrain itself. Most melee champions can just aa you from outside of the effect, even if you hug the wall.

The lasting poison is a better combo set-up for Twin Fang. I think they removed it, because they are assuming with the slow and the Grounded Effect, the enemy will stay in the poison a lot longer, or have a difficult time escaping the area. Unfortunately, as many players have pointed out, the shape of the arc makes it easy for the enemy to walk out of the AOE.
