What do people mean when they say "ggez"?

Been seeing this a lot at the end of my games from the enemy team and I don't understand what it means. They like to spam it a lot.

"gg" is a short for "good game". It's a common terminology used between players to acknowledge and to pay respect to the game they'd just played as well as the opponent they'd play against, kinda like the handshakes post-match like they do in sports.

Adding "ez", which is the short for "easy", after "gg" which would then form "ggez" however, derives a much different meaning. It's most used as a passive-aggressive insult/mockery directed at the opponent during an instance of their own victory (so the opponent and the subjects of this insult is the defeated side), saying the game and/or the opponent is "easy" and therefore "boring" or "not worthy" in a sense. It's more or less an equivalent to the winner spitting on the losing team member's shirt during the post-match handshake in sports.

Though, sometimes the usage of "ggez" is not malicious, and is merely a comedy skit. This most typically happens when it's said by the losing team.

Wouldn't that be considered griefing or unsportsmanlike behavior? Why would someone do something that could get them banned?
