Is Evelyn any good in low elo with tanks dying off top and tank jg's being bad early

It seems that you don't see too many tanks anymore. There are a few in the jungle. Most like Zac, sej, amumu, rammus (good lvl 3 ganks but slow clears and armor only), etc gave super slow clears and are prone to invades or are just bad early. Of course voli doesn't have the early game issue due to his passive and ganks lvl 3. People pick hecrim alot. Not sure about jarvin who is coming back. You can purge the fiddle fear and process to run and you counter. You also counter sej. Also not sure about kha'zix. I don't use her in ranked but if I want to just have fun in normals, I'll pick a trolly champion like eve or singed. Of course i go their normal positions. I can get an early lead in normals but never tried ranked. That was a couple months ago. Will she be any good. This especially applies to bronze and silver.

Click the link, its from a post I made about a week ago. It outlines how I'm building eve lately this season. Whether mid lane or jungle Rylai is always your second item, although I tend to throw a sheen in the mix before I start working on completing the Rylai. Gunblade rush on mid lane (unless I'm versus a Zed or something and have to rush hourglass) runic echoes start for jungle. Whether I tank up or go more assassin after that depends on how far ahead I am. If the game is fairly close I'll opt into pieces of my tank items before I complete Triforce, if I'm ahead I gotta get all dat sweet damage from a completed Trinity. Always start two camps (preferably on the opposing top side jg if you don't get spotted out) then back for a hunters pot, hit your second buff and start ganking lanes. 12-18-0 masteries, take the TLD. Rune set up can be flexible, but I usually roll with AD marks, Scaling armor seals, Scaling MR glyphs (or scaling AP glyphs if I don't fear the enemy team's AP, ie, no Le Blanc or assassin AP mages) and flat AP quints.

This is an exception. This seems to be one of the only tanks you will see top still. I mean for the most part. I mean you don't see them as much as a few patches ago. The best tops are Darius, Irellia, and Gangplank. If you look at fotm, the most popular are Irellia, Yasuo, Darius, and Ryze. The idea is there aren't as many tanks as there used to be

champs like Evelynn can be hard to deal with in lower elo due to lack of awareness and her passive. since the change to item 2043 champs with stealth can easy by pass them cuz they are visible and they can easily be taken down. problem with eve is you have to get ahead early to be effective in game. similar to a Shaco .

Look for someone overextended and easy early lead. Also the jg's prone to invades or bad duelists early are also easy kills. Just know when to quit chasing.

Low elo people just get tanky and win. Kinda the meta in low elo. really bad players don't know how to deal with tanks

Look at my last few games. They have very few tanks that even did good. One game as jax, I had a tank ekko who was more of an annoyance than an actual threat. I beat him but while it was 4v4 the whole game, we won. Look at one of my Pantheon games. I was against a maokoi and I rekt him and I'm new to panth. The he was going ap bruiser with items like roa and frozen heart. He did get a randuins and a kindergem. Look at the others and you won't see a tank top. People just build armor pen. as a fighter/skirmisher, your job isn't to burst, it's to deal damage. So far ive only seen tank ekko top in my ranked games yesterday. I played one unranked. They ad an ap bruiser maokoi. I did see illaoi support in one ranked game with teemo ADC so we won.

AP eve is stronger than AD eve because AD items cost too much each strong AD item costs almost 300-800 more than AP items the cheapest AD item i saw besides the jungle item was 3100 being item 3071 while you have items like item 3100 item 3001 item 3152 item 3135 are all waaay cheaper and at least 2 of these items would be in your AP build VS AD where EVERYTHING is over 3k gold

Quick edit the most expensive item you would build on eve isitem 3116 which is still 200 less than item 3146 and item 3153 500 less than item 3072 and remember yeah if only 1 or 2 items cost that much extra i could make an argument but almost every item besides deathcap cost more or item 3089 ( deathcap would is a pretty greedy item to get but you might get it on eve late game)

Yes I do believe ap eve is better. You build ad if you need sustain damage. You scale good with both. Gunblade isn't a bad option on ap eve for the same reasons as Akali. It kept it's omnivamp which is ls and spellvamp combined. It also increases burst with the active and it gives ad and ap. It's the equivalent to a dagon in dota 2. It's a nuke in an item. In this case, not a giant ass nuke. In dota you can use gold to level up the dagon to lvl 7 to increase damage. Only 2 items have levels though. Here it's ap scaling and it slows. The ap scaling on eve is better since it's on all the abilities.

Eve is so reliant on getting early leads and then abusing the fuck out of it before she falls off that I wouldn't really recommend her to an amateur.

It takes a little practice to do so but I don't think it would be super high. You get an early kill then put a ward or two in their jg and kill them when they appear. You want to play her as a control jg. That means you give vision and counter jg. You can hunt down the enemy jg. There are two kinds of control jg's . The first one is one who steals camps mostly then there are the hunters who look for kills in the jg while stealing camps to not fall off. Eve is a hunter. I tried her in normals and I did OK but not amazing. I can get a lead easily from a kill (I'm a bronze player and I actually admit that I suck at the game. my philosophy on bronze is if your stuck there, you suck so stfu and do t think you deserve better until s5 promos. you can get s5 if your that far) then that's when I hunt the enemy down(unless I know they can out duel). Also go for people who are overextended like normal. Jg almost always looks at the map. I know because I used to play jg alot. Now I'm playing top just so I can have a positive where I can climb just by farming and have people walk into me and die since I'm big from farming. I also won't have someone else who can fuck up and cause me issues. It's all me. 1 point of failure. I can still be an effective jg. Lee, kha'zix, riven, rengar, and fiora have the same feast or famine play style.if you get an early kill or two, that's when the snowball starts. That's the feast or famine play style.

You REALLY do not want to play her in this style, its extremely counterproductive and inefficient. You want to utilize her passive to be an absolute terror and menace in the lanes to force early objectives. Forcing objectives early helps her mid game woes out immensely as well empowering your laners to be more productive and active in the mid game stages where eve is weakest. Eve is not a champ with strong duel potential until the later stages of a game, so attempting to hassle an opposing jungler, like say, a lee sin or a shaco or elise is going to end EXTREMELY bad for you. Even things like xin, gragas, and shyvana are extremely good at out dueling her if you attempt to play her in the style you allude to here.

Eve benefits most from helping out the laners early and often so she can kind of coast in the mid game until she hits her super strong 4 item power spike and can be a viable threat in a lot of different ways. This doesn't mean one CAN'T play her in an invading jungler style, its just this is NOT a strength for eve and can often get one into serious trouble that puts eve far behind. If you attempt to do anyting of the sort you have to be incredibly smart about it and pick the exact right moment to try something so risky. All in all, as a diamond eve player its not something I would ever recommend. Stick to the tried and true method of snowballing the lanes early and often. It has a much higher chance for success.

She certainly benefits from early leads, but eve is actually one of Leagues hardest scaling champions. Her late game 6 item DPS can rival jax. Her let game burst can rival a leblanc. She's designed to be weakest early and scale well, but her passive can negate her being weak early by allowing her to be flexible in how and when she chooses to engage. In reality the most difficult moments of the game for Evelynn are the 20-35 minute range. Typically I'll have either gunblade and Rylai by then or Echoes and Rylai by then, which is a significant power spike, but the duration of that effectiveness only lasts a minute or two as other champions generally hit equally or more impactful powerspikes right after the 20 minute mark. For a less advanced and capable Evelynn player its unlikely they will happen to have 2 items and boots at that moment in time which makes her mid game for inexperienced evelynns absolutely brutal. You aren't bursty enough to fight any one at will and you aren't tanky enough to take crazy risks. Even for me I have difficulty in this stage of the game and tend to rely on allowing my mid laner to take charge of the game for the rest of the mid game while I farm up my tanky items or assassin items. Once I hit 4 to 5 full items on eve I'm just about unstoppable. I'm pretty bursty, I have good dps, I have enough durability to be a frontline-ish type champ and all this gives me the ability to split push, duel, teamfight, dive, or just peel for carries in late game. Its this flexibility combined with her flank potential and passive that make her late game UBER scary. Melee units do NOT want to attempt to duel a late game Evelynn. They just get kited to death. Backline units do NOT want to attempt to 2v1 her without serious lockdown hard cc that can last at least 3 seconds, she'll just kill them both. About the only thing eve is afraid of is a late game Yi, whom she can't kite, lock down, or out dps all while Yi has better split push potential. Olaf and his ragnarok are a similar case, eve can have difficulty with those two late in a game.

Strong 1v1 potential does not a good scaling champion make. Yes, Eve's 1v1 scaling is insane. But once teamfights roll around, her lack of utility really starts to hurt her.

Generally speaking champions are generalized as good or bad in terms of scaling on two factors alone. DPS duel potential, or AOE burst potential. Utility does not factor into the equation in any way. No matter how awesome a top lane nautilus may be, not matter how fed, he simply does not SCALE well under EITHER of these scenarios. Sure, he has a lot of utility with that kit, but he does not scale well. Similar champions are things like Leona, Maokai, or Thresh. None of those champs scale hard. Eve scales RIDICULOUSLY hard.

Secondly, if you are failing in team fights as Evelynn then you are playing her wrong. She typically has two ideal ways of dealing with teamfights. Tankier builds utilizing Rylai want to initiate or counterinitiate and then peel for the carries. This should be extremely easy to set up because of her passive. Assassin builds should be looking to make picks, or be the secondary engage on a high priority target after an initial engage is made by a front line unit.

Eve is pretty good no matter what elo you are in. Not being able to see incoming ganks forces any laner you camp to play passive. This makes it so if your laners are facing skilled opponents they are less likely to feed because the enemy is playing safe. The only problem is getting behind. If you are behind you will lose. Eve is a very squishy champion, even building tank is detrimental since you won't have damage or utility.
