How does darius decimate work?

Why is is that even when I feel like I'm standing right on top of Darius during decimate he still hits me with the blade. Is it calculated by % of your champion's hitbox in the blade ring?

ya, idk which one his decimate is, thats basically his pull. and his ult is basically percent hp physical damage based off of bleed passive im pretty sure. and its basically like works the same way as garen r. but his r has decent base physical damage as well without any stacks {for squishies}.

lets say that black circle is your champions hitbox. That is not going to hit you with the blade.

If you're more inside than outside, then it will not hit you with the blade. if you're more outside than inside, then it will hit you with the blade.

The blade is pretty thick, melee range may not necessarily put you in the handle's hitbox. A good Darius will also move away from you on activation of Q if you're standing on top of him.

I just feel as if even one small part of your hitbox is in the outer ring you get hit with the blade. I often do not get hit with the blade (I know how to counterplay holy crap people) I am just wondering exactly how it calculates it. maybe i will test in a custom with a friend
