Hi Riot. Silence has fallen, and that is how your team has failed

Just a little wisdom coming your way. So you create this game years ago that is decently paced and has some action. You continually quicken the pace. You continually add more action. You eventually added more ways for us players to communicate and keep up with the action because you think the way community dealt with communication was "toxic".

Let me tell you what toxicity is. Toxicity is telling people, who verbally stand up to bullies and idiots, that they need to shut up because they are wrong for speaking out at these idiots and bullies. Toxicity is allowing the "I DON'T GIVE A F$&% WHAT YOU THINK" crowd to ruin team cohesion and spirit. You poison the community by empowering people that don't give a rats ass about teamwork and undercutting those that actually care. How else can I put it? In season 3 when a gold player called me a retard when I was bronze I decided to improve my play because I am simply not a degraded piece of garbage and I respect the words of someone who is obviously more skilled. I did not report them. AGAIN someone calling me retarded, and me accepting THAT fact was the trigger to me getting better. Nothing else up to that point gave me motivation to get better.

So in a ranked game when I (the top laner trundle with teleport still up) tell the midlaner heimer that it was retarded to waste TP on top lane seconds before a teamfight at mid lane when I literally just walked top to save my TP for the fight!!! you should not give me a chat restriction for 25 games! I did not call them names, I did not sit there and harass them. I said one thing to them and they said WHATEVER. The enemy team was talking to me just fine, but the people making mistakes on my team were angry that I said things like "I pinged and you ran away" because they respond with "git gud". I got a ban just because I am talkative and told them to pay attention? Screw you Riot.

I get plenty of games with teams full of people that cooperate and listen to pings. I get honorable opponent at least 2-5 times a day (probably because i don't spam taunt or mastery emote when I beat someone down repeatedly). I get friendly and teamwork ALL THE TIME because I help people that ask questions and I never let my team down. I don't run away, and I sure as heck don't try to screw them over, but occasionally I get these assholes with such thin skin that me questioning their judgement sets them off and you ban me for it.

Ill tell you what toxicity is.

Making taunt emotes and mastery emotes yet encouraging silence and banning those that speak up. I don't even have words for how trashy that sentiment is. You are turning this community into something worse than the 0 tolerance we suffer at US public schools. I had no bans before season 6 and now my main is permabanned along with a resurrected old account receiving a 25 game chat restriction? Why now all of a sudden? Why were there no problems before? Now every time I want to compliment someone I will be reminded that I am too toxic to be complimenting them.. What a joke.

You want to know who is toxic in this community? The people with the IDGAF attitude that are being encouraged by your system. Some people will actually improve and they need to hear how they messed up. Others just literally don't have the capacity to care and those are the ones you are pandering to. way to go. I will take the HUNDREDS I spent here (which you just stole from me) and go find a game that will probably be less interesting. This is the the most fun game I have played in my life. It is really sad to say goodbye to something so great because of a few people at Riot that cannot accept human behavior in general or even the micro-culture of gaming communities.

The thing that will keep me away is not these ignorant selfish players running around, it will be remembering how you stole hundreds of dollars from me under the guise that "this is a free game" and "it is your privilege to play here"

In my parting moments I suggest this. Instead of having chat restrictions why don't you just automatically mute them on their teammates' side, with a message to that teammate warning them that you MAY be toxic and it is at their discretion to unmute you. Makes way more sense than letting us say a couple lines here and there
