Just got done playing a game as Skarner in Team Builder where I absolutely dominated...
Remind me why we need to change Skarner again?
Remind me why we need to change Skarner again?
Because Skarner has two modes currently, unstoppable and useless. Riot wants him to hover somewhere in the middle.

I don't see how giving him conditional spots of usefulness on the map makes him any more balanced.
It actually seems to be limiting in some way.
It's just adding in more levers for the balance team. These initial changes likely won't change Skarner's power too much, but it gives the balance team more ways to try and reach that middle ground.
Because you absolutely dominated.
Skarner snowballs way too hard since everything about him is on that overloaded Q of his. He levels up a single ability to get all the sticking power, damage, and attack speed, so when he gets a level advantage he gets completely out of control. Either he falls behind and does nothing except get kited and
grab every 90 seconds, or he gets fed and turns into a monster that just becomes impossible to deal with because you can't kill him and he can chase you for extended periods of time. (Not unlike
but I hate him too).

Can we really assume that every champion is useful while behind?
Sometimes you just can't do anything because you've been outplayed.
all examples of champs that can be an asset even if the fall behind.
Other champs
absolute garbage and in some instances, borderline unplayable when they fall behind.

Unsure about Ashe, Blitz is good no matter how ahead or behind he is because he can initiate like a god, Gnar is almost never weak, Liss is pretty much the same, Sion is a joke when he's behind and sometimes even still when on the winning side, Riven is really S@#$y when behind. Does Sejuani even do anything anymore? Never played Soraka, Wukong is garbage when behind, Veigar just needs to AFK farm to get back up.
Also, Nasus and Twitch are both really good regardless of behind or ahead.
Leave Nasus alone for too long and he's back in the game.
Ashe always has that stun that can make picks or start fights. Yes ADC's are terrible when behind but as far as ADC's Ashe is probably the safest one when behind.
Sion and Sejuani got nerfed too hard so it isn't the best example, but both have CC for days and Sion gets HP from assists.
Riven, as long as she doesn't feed hard, can be useful to her team with her CC and execute. And that's part of the problem, she doesn't fall behind as much as you would expect but still snowballs like a monster.
Wukong is not garbage from behind at all. If he loses lane, it doesn't matter because his roams are extremely effective, and he has game-changing CC on his ult.
Twitch is the worst ADC to play when behind, not sure where you got that from.
"Leave Nasus alone for too long and he's back in the game".
Meanwhile either his team is losing 5v4 teamfights, or he gets 4-man ganked while he is farming top. Nasus is garbage from behind because he scales with farm, not gold. He can't grab a few assists and get back in the game like other champs, he needs to spend time farming if he gets zoned or camped early and that removes him from the game even longer.
People think the skarner rework will change how he plays. But it feels pretty much the same to me. build sheen item, build tank. Mash Q. Ult carry. W and mash Q
Now he just has an easier/faster time clearing. And in the current meta he could use it to keep up with all these sated devourer junglers.
Because the enjoyment of players who already like champions doesn't count, I guess.
