Teammate dies 3 times in lane. "A summoner has quit!"

LegitBacon66··74 votes·4,544 views

Really? Is this what is happening in now in Ranked? You die 3 times in ranked because you get outplayed so you just quit forcing a loss on the rest of your team? I hope this instant feedback system is good for players who just leave.

Well you see, all the children are out of school now, "its summer time so lets all play league"

-said every player under the age of 18.

Silents42910 votes

According to Riot toxicity was more common in all age groups but the younger audience reported more often.

So don't try pitting blame on people under 18.

No, he didn't imply shit. You can project your own bullshit onto his post if you want, but it doesn't make it real.

Furthermore, I won't need to imply. These kids are the worst thing to happen to PvP games, across the board. It isn't about toxicity or anything like that. It's about mental health and brain development. These kids have no clue how to approach the game and it throws so many players under the bus. Fucking bullshit is what it is.

"mental health and brain development", aren't these related to toxicity?

No, that has nothing to do with it. Otherwise I would be the most toxic person in the world.

It depends. I said it was related, but not 100% causal relation. For example, depression doesn't always lead to toxicity, but it may make you give up easily and AFK, that becomes toxicity. Or when you get useful critics, and you don't have the mental health to withstand, you may rage and trashtalk back. That's toxicity too.

I got hit with a really bad 600 ping spike that lasted for 15 minutes into a match as Nasus against Pantheon.

Eventually after reconnecting things got better, but not before Pantheon was able to amass a significant solo kill lead on me.

I just CS'd and kept playing it safe. Farmed and didn't die. Helped where I could with teleport.

4 surrender votes were started by other members of my team in the meanwhile. But we kept going and didn't give up even when all the lanes were losing. Eventually it was 30 minutes. I walk into top lane, I look at Pantheon. He is level 16. I look at myself. I am level 18. The storm was over. We won that match.

Are you sure anyone on your team wasnt harassing them? Some people play only for fun and if they're not having any since their team is cussing them out, why stay?

Crash Bandicoot23 votes

I'm not condoning harassment, but if someone is only playing for fun then they should stick to playing normals and stay out of ranked.

Agreed

ChaoticPinecone2 votes

Disagreed.

at the end of the day, for most of us its just a game. Most of us are not professional players whose living is based on their performance. (most streamers dont make their living based on their performance - its more about the fun and insight they provide that attracts viewers.)

I take ranked a bit more seriously; its not where i test out new builds, new champions, or new strategies. But its still just for fun.

soulbanana81 votes

Agreed. Ranked is where you want to see where you're at compared to other people. Normals is where you want to try new stuff.

Why play at all if you're not in it for fun? It is a game. And it is fun. But once you hit 30, you build your runes and your masteries and learn different lanes. I never condone harassment, I play mostly with friends or friends of friends. But after you hit your 30 mark, learn all the lanes with a few different characters in each, - AND - complete your masteries/rune pages for the roles - You play ranked. FOR FUN. If you play it being serious, you negate the part of it being a game. I understand people get paid to play League via Youtube and all that, but they do it because it's fun. But to say you should stay out of ranked because you do it for fun, you're an idiot, sir.

It's not so much the playing for fun part. More of playing ranked casually as you would a normal game. Don't do that. Competitive players who play with conviction would like you to do the same and give it your all. I know it's all for fun but to someone as competitive as I, winning is much funner than losing, and much more satisfying. So when that guy who went 3/11/8 tells me that he didn't care or it was his 1st time with a champ, I get a little pissed inside because I'm thinking you came to win but instead you just want a practice run when they clearly have game modes for that. One of those game modes even goes through all the same motions as well.

At least they made it in to the game. Better than the nonsense I've been having where one team is down a person for the first 3 or 4 minutes.

When somebody is gone for the first few minutes dont give up. In my plat series i was missing leblanc for the first 9 minutes, hecarim kept the enemy off her so she could farm up, and whenever a lane got killed she would go to that lane to farm till she caught up. We ended up winning, you should remain positive and good results may come.

Fuaztin5 votes

If you're playing for fun then ranked shouldn't be what you queue for. But I guess being scored poorly didn't matter because public school failed you. If you intentionally fail because you're not having fun then the game should become safe to leave so that the entire team doesn't have to sit through the steamrolling that comes after.

What you just stated is most of the balance aspect of the game with a hint of game play. Game play is the pretty self-explanatory, as this is game play. What other board category would you suggest?

MattAkhavan1 votes

I dont see this being gameplay in my opinion. I think this should have gone in the misc board or create another board for complaints or something.

Sorry if i sound like an ass, but when i imagine opening up a gameplay and balance board i want to see things like mecahnics people underutilize, ( like placing a ward behind you when cassio ults to dodge the cc) discussion about strengths and weaknesses etc. what i am not expecting is, and you have all the right to be mad, this guy in my ranked game fed and rq'd

  1. Riot isn't going to do anything no matter how much you report a person for screwing up in ranked

Yeah, if my last series of matches (in normals mind you) were any gauge, I'm going to have to say no. The instant feedback system is BS. Toxicity has not gone down at all. In fact, I'd argue it's gone up.

When I'm playing an immobile champion and have to fight against Riven .

You have every reason to ragequit from this, although I could take the Leaverbuster.

Transgressor1 votes

Or you could get good at the game instead of ragequiting like a loser(I'd use the "b" word but it'd get moderated)and ruin the game for everyone. Getting good at the game also underlines the fact that you know how to play matchups, and how to counterpick.

That doesn't justify being a toxic ragequitter. There's also this thing called "playing deffensively and farming under turret", with your oh-so-immobile champion.

Dunkrius2g1 votes

Or ban her. Or actually learn to deal with her. I always get fked up by her, but later on I am always MORE useful than her as Dunkrius. Here I'll give you some tips for a normal player.

If u feel like u will fight her top, then go bot. Let someone else deal with her instead.

2nd: Play Riven. I don't ever do this especially with Riven cuz she is such a bleep to deal with BUT, once you play her for around 5-10 matches, then you will see the enemy abusing her weaknesses.

3rd: Ban her if you plan on playing ranked. Cuz of you leave her open and you let someone else fail against her, then that is GG assuming that you guys surrender. Never surrender.

4th: The biggest counter to Riven is the ADC. That's right the ADC. But how? Here is the reason. I don't mean that an ADC goes top lane (except with this exception Quinn ). But this is what I mean. If your ADC doesn't not get in rivens face, the ADC will deal around 500-600 damage per .5 secs assuming if he crits then you have QWER. RIVEN will most likely get these itemsitem 3035 item 3074 item 3142 item 1001 item 3071 and a defensive item. Sometimes she will get item 3143 and/or item 3102 . and next

5th: have champions that can silence or suppress.Malzahar Chogath Urgot Skarner Garen Soraka there might be more.

6th: Google this shit. We have good technology, use it to good use.

Let's be honest, it's not often that someone could die 3 times in lane in ranked and not hear something along these lines... "GG fucking feeder top/mid/adc/supp." It's unrealistic to say that they quit just because they died but instead that they died and now their teammates are being butthurt.

Hold on. What your telling me is that I shouldn't be "butt hurt" because I am in ranked game and I have a teammate who dies 3 times in lane and undeniably just quits? Seems legit!

XcSDeadDeer1 votes

Hopefully so.

Last night I was playing Irelia into Fiora and died 3 times in the first 7 minutes. Once was because their jungler ganked me 3 times in 6:30, the other 2 were because I simply got outplayed and I made a mistake in each fight. I calmly told my team I screwed up and needed help. I got 2 ganks which resulted in 2 kills, and next thing I know i'm 9/5 and they surrender.

Why can't people simply grow up? That'd be OP
