My main issue with this game is that there are too many handouts
Let me just make a comparison to other mechanically intensive/knowledge demanding games. For example, Devil May Cry is considered by many to be a very hard game to play. You, the player, are powerful. But to succeed at the highest levels you need to be completely aware of your strengths and weaknesses because things you add to your character won't change those weaknesses, they just give more tools to engage your enemies, but they NEVER ever dumb the game down.
Effective play in a game such as Battlefield requires map knowledge, knowledge of how your gun spreads, team work, and how certain attachments work. Again, these simply are added tools a player can have to engage the enemy more efficiently, they NEVER dumb the game down.
When I started playing this game 4 years ago, it was a fundamentally different game. The runes and mastery were more complex than simply adding more damage and rewarding kills. Vision was far more expansive. Mechanically intense champions required lots of time and effort to effectively play.
Fast forward to season 9, where every new champion and reworked champion have multiple dashes, shields, heals, or simply just one shot you. The runes have been dumbed down and are far too focused on just killing the enemy. We don't even have masteries anymore. Most OP champions are OP not only due to the fact that their kits are strong, but they synergize so well with what I can only imagine are items that were not fully thought out before they were released into the game.
True damage should be a rare and valuable resource. Vayne can proc her true damage every other hit with
.
Fighters should bring versatility and tankiness to their teams.
and
are not only versatile, but the fighter itemization + Conqueror lets them be tanky, one shot squishy targets, gives them access to very good healing, and then they can add
or
to sweeten the deal and make themselves even more unstoppable.
Thresh should not be a champion picked simply because you end up having to go off-role one game. Thanks to Aftershock him and other champions became a lot more forgiving to play.
In short, I'm starting to feel like all of the fundamentals I learned to play this game don't matter as much because someone can simply just do more damage/use a broken item/broken keystone, snowball their lead and there's no way to effectively comeback or counter it. This game needs a total overhaul.
having completely overloaded kits.
