I should not be encountering auto-filled players in every single ranked game, with 1-2 minute queues
Fix this fucked up system, please.
Ranked queues should prioritize good matches, not fast matches. This is the competitive game mode.

but then the streamers wont be able to entertain their viewers with 10 minute queue times. We don't like that at riot games.
Play meme games in between ques, (hearthstone, darkest dungeon, etc)
I like how you've slowly lessened the amount of autofilled players every post. First it was 4, then 3, now it's just "players" with no qualification.
Still +5 to doubt
Mhm. Every match? I call bullshit. Absolute bullshit.
I see them once roughly every 20-30 matches. And then I usually just offer to swap with them if they can't play that role.
Granted, it could just be shit luck. But shit luck for how many matches in a row? I doubt you're seeing 25x as many autofilled players as I am.
I kinda believe it. I mean I play this mostly at night so I'd figure auto fills are more common then. But there was one night where quite literally some guy on my 4 man (fuck my solo life Wish there was an option to completely avoid 4 man as solo) almost every champ select wanted my role.
Don't play flexq. Ranked is duo queue at most. If someone gets a 4 man, it's by pure luck
I play regular draft now since I hit gold.

The population is higher at lower rankings so autofill doesn't occur nearly as often there. There are times when I get autofilled immediately after my protections run out.
If you are of the rank that gets autofilled that frequently your queue times are not likely 1-2 minutes as suggested in the OP

Closer to 4-5, but I have no problem waiting longer.
Even when i was d3/d2/d1 mmr range a few weeks ago i had q times of maximum 3-4 minutes and still getting autofilled every second match after my protection went off. Unless i was queing for toplane since noone plays toplane.
start playing support and jng then you wont see any autofill. Keep queuing for mid/top and well you aren't gonna like the results. Because you consist of 90% of the playerbase.
Lol nope. Noone is playing toplane. Try top/mid instead of mid top and you get toplane ever single game with one autofill in jungle every 20 games or so. Especially right now a ton of people are abusing support. Never gotten autofilled support in the last two months. Mostly adc or jungle.
Or maybe players just need to learn a third or fourth role.
Yeah just let me queue up for 4 roles Oh wait
Role selection system encourages you to learn and master roles, and at high elo, most people are garbage at any other roles
I can play all 5 roles, but I don't expect that from other people because thats ridiculous
They're not garbage. They're just too stubborn to even try to learn other roles.

No, we're garbage. Because we play most games in our preferred roles, we're not nearly as good at the other roles as people in our elo who main those roles are.
My jungle is bronze level, must dodge if filled. Poor Yenn himself had to witness it a couple weeks ago I'm surprised he didn't make a thread about it.
Then you probably deserve a lower elo. It's a team game -- all the more reason to understand the pressures of every other role first. Also helps understand strengths and weaknesses. It's no wonder some of my plat game experiences don't feel vastly different from those in low silver. Gold was a respect elo back when I started in S3. It's whatever now; people rather spam 400 ranked games and rely on promohelper and that 50% chance than learn to get better and play out their games even if they look bad.

I tried low elo but this is what happens xd

Gold was never a respectable elo. Started playing in s1 btw. The reason your plat games feel like silveris riots dynamic q because half of the silver players got boosted there. Same reason why diamond is such a shit elo right now all up to D3 because half of the playerbase got boosted last season.
Lol. I guarantee you i turtle slap the shit out of everyone in diamond who is not used to playing toplane. You can't just magically try to learn other roles on a high level when you got to this level by playing something completely different. A midlaner might be able to play another solo lane and vice versa but a supp, jungle or adc in mid/top? Good bye elo.
you can't just magically teach your autofilled top or jungler to know how to play that's what OP is saying although most of his topics are just stupid complains i do agree on disabling autofill.
I never said that you had to teach them. People just need to stop being stubborn and learn a third or fourth role. You guys can downvote me all you want but riot isn't going to get rid of auto fill. They made it for a reason. The reason being that high Elo players complained about the very long queue times. The solution is simple and in my opinion, is far better than going back to 15 minute queues. Maybe you guys like 15 minute queues? Is that it?

Nobody at high elo complained about queue times. I was Diamond I. The queue times were worth having decent games. I'm now Platinum and I get at least one auto-fill on one team or the other, often multiple, in nearly every single game, and my queues are never longer than 2 minutes.
People just need to stop being stubborn and learn a third or fourth role.
This shows that you're detached from the reality of the problem and have no idea what you're talking about. It doesn't matter if you know how to play every role if you only play the other three in 1/20 games. You're out of practice with them.
Where were you last season? Tons of high Elo players complained about long queue times. It was the whole reason why riot released auto fill for high elo players FIRST then for everyone else next season. I remember in the boards, queue times were one of the most complained about things. It used to fill up the gameplay section all the time.
I'm not detached from reality. Playing a third and fourth role worked well for me and other players I know so I'm more attached then you are. If you're "out of practice" then you never learned them to begin with.
Idk what this guy's talking about either. Literally everyone in Master and up was fed the fuck up and Riot made numerous attempts at improving said queue times.
And where do these long ass q times come from? Position selection. Scrap that and maybe we have quality games AND good q times again. Not worth having shit game quality in the majority of your games just so you can get your role. I'd rather prefer the old system.
Riot won't scrap position selection because just like auto fill, they made position selection to fix another problem. Back in the days before dynamic q players didn't like learning all 5 roles and how some players didn't respect pick order. Riot made position selection to please those players.
I agree. As someone that's played since Season 4 it really rubs me the wrong way to see people complain about autofilled players when it used to be that there was zero guarantee that you'd get your role. Learning multiple roles was not only something expected but being able to do all those roles at least competently was considered a mark of your skill. This isn't even considering that unlike the complaints about ONE person getting autofilled in a game that I could see a match start up where everyone but me on my team would be a mid lane main so you'd have four players arguing with each other and three of them weren't going to get their main role.
Lmao that's hilarious coming from a Velkoz one trick.
How is that hilarious? What I did was smart. You can either learn a third or fourth role or just make supoort one of your preferred roles like I did. It's your choice. Best of all, I main a champion with a low pay rate so I can consistently play him. Nothing hilarious about what I do. Only smart.
I can guarantee you that a Velkoz main is not well versed in either top, jg, or adc roles. Yet, you hypocritically state that we should all learn a 3rd or 4th role. Just because your secondary role is support, doesn't mean you don't have to learn a 3rd or 4th role too. You're being hypocritical.
How am I being hypocritical? There're two ways players can deal with auto fill. Either they can learn a third or fourth role so they don't feed when auto filled OR they can make supoort one of their preferred roles. I didn't mention the second solution earlier because I know that players hate playing support so I don't think they'd want to do the second solution anyway. I'm not being a hypocrite because I chose the second solution. You can too. It's Your choice.
Btw, I know how to play other champions in other roles. I'm just focusing on Vel'Koz this season because This is the first season that I played Vel'Koz support.
You never said anything about a second solution though, you just brought that up now because I called you a hypocrite. And no, I get autofilled top and jg, just as much as sup, so just learning sup and one other thing is not enough, you will still have games where you're a fish out of water. I can play every position good enough to succeed, so I'm fine. Idk about this Velkoz one trick though.
Did you not read? I'll say it again. I didn't mention the second solution earlier because support is the most hated role in the game. Players clearly and frequently express that. Mentioning that second solution would be pointless. The second solution is also common knowledge since this solution has been mentioned SINCE DYNAMIC Q came out in season 6 since the lack of support players caused the long q times and one of the solutions was to learn support. It's common knowledge.
I see that you don't fully understand how auto fill works. When you intentionally play the least desired role, in this case support, you are auto fill protected even though you weren't auto filled. I know this because one of my preferred roles is support and every time I intentionally play a game as support, I get auto fill protected the next game. The second solution would be enough because this way, you'll never get autofilled.
And dude, I played this game since before dynamic q came out. I know how to play every role too. You don't need to worry about me. I mostly play Vel'Koz now because he has a low play rate so why play other champions when I can always play my best champion?
I'm honestly 100% done with this annoying ass back and forth. I'm not reading any of that, I'm done. The fact that it takes you that much to explain means you really had to pull **** out of your ass in order to respond and I'm just done. Take my dislike.
PEACE
The fact that it took me this much explaining shows how little you know.
My auto-filled jungle is 1-7-1. The game is an unrecoverable loss, because it's single handedly fed every single lane. Even better, it decided to try Eve for the first time, because it didn't care about the game. Even better, I was also auto-filled.
I waited 40 seconds to get into this game, where my team had two auto-fills.
I also really think the system should try to match you with players in your Honor Level bracket. This means if you're actually a genuinely nice player you'll get matched with more people like you. The toxic kids can play with the toxic kids.
If autofills affected only long queques, as soon as your own queque started to get long, you could just reset..
I should not be encountering auto-filled players in every single ranked game, with 1-2 minute queues
Players should stop only maining two roles then and play everything equally.
Something to know, not every player will mention they have been autofilled. If I get support I say nothing at all, because I am comfortable playing support. That is not true for mid or bot lane though, I KNOW I am weaker as marksman or mid lane, I have champions I play in those roles, but if I am facing someone who mains that role, I am going to get stomped.
Ultimately, THAT is the issue, not that I cannot play the role, but that it is unfair that I randomly am placed against someone who mains it. If they are going to have an autofill in a given role, the person on the other team should be autofilled to that role as well, but of course then we have people just swap to main roles, and the problem remains.
Autofill always will make games lopsided in some way, and that just does not feel fun to play and merely makes players rage at each other. I tend to check match histories of players on my team to see if they play the role they are in, if not I will frequently dodge the game. The odds of losing increase dramatically if they should end up facing a Main of their lane.
Just had a 12 second queue with both an auto-filled jungle and support. I'm really confused at how anyone at Riot can think this is both working as intended and okay.
33 second queue, top and jungle both auto-filled after the last game was a remake. What the fuck is this?
1 minute, 8 second queue, jungle is auto-filled and has died on every single gank attempt.
58 second queue, auto-filled jungle and top. Still waiting to hear why this system is enabled in ranked.
Two more auto-fills after a 2 minute and 2 second queue, with both of them having a combined 8 deaths at 6 minutes.
Another auto-filled jungle after 33 seconds.
I just had a 12 second queue into double auto-filled bottom lane, this is probably a new record
