Just tried it out and holy shit these ganks are brutal. Sure, clears are a pain in the ass until you get runics and You have to back after 2 camps for hunters, but apart from that she appears like a solid pick to me.
Runic Echo might enable more mages to jungle...

All these champions have monster ganking but very inefficient clearing or dueling. If you are playing one of these junglers and you gank a lane and your team backs because they are too low and you have to 1v1 what do you do? The enemy is 3 levels above you because you spent all your time trying to farm your jungle for scrap xp. If the enemy jungler invades you you have no chance of fighting back. Heck if you even want to split push you cant even clear the minion wave.

Leona jungle generally does the invading and against 99% of the player base it is a guaranteed fb. In the case of Braum or Thresh any competent jungler can determine where they would be invaded and alter their route accordingly to avoid such a problem. I can't really comment on Bard since I only jungled him in a custom game.
It's also unlikely to ever really fall behind more than 2 levels on an equal setting early on.

You cc them while they're doing their buff and kill them? I did this in rank for S3 to get to gold and it still works even in plat. From then on you just gank and tower dive frequently.
SnugglePuggle941 votesLeona jungle is quite fun and a solid pick. And her ganks are one of the best in the game, holy cow. Basically every champion has hard clears early game because of how much harder they made the jungle, except for those like Nunu lol
