trinity force changes and GP

Is it really a good thing to take crit off of trinity? It's actually getting out of hand how much CDR riot is putting on items, it's like they are trying their best to make getting 40% CDR mandatory on every champion. And as far as my main (which is the main reason im a little aggravated by these changes)Gangplank how on earth are we supposed to get 100% crit or really do any damage early in the game? This is going to hurt GP so damn bad as if the 100 nerfs previously didn't do enough? He went from 100% pick ban to picked maybe once every 20 lcs games because his nerfs were so bad he was no longer a priority pick. If these changes are going through can our orange eating pirate get some love? This makes me really sad.

just sounds like butthurt to be honest. so gangplank doesnt go from shit to retardedly strong after 1 item, so what he is meant to scale. like think about this on nasus "i got exactly 60 stacks i can 1 v 1 anyone know" its just a bit wtf

GP doesnt get retardedly strong after trinity, he HAS to get IE before he really shows ANY presence and even then he has around 40% crit and is super unreliable. He is a champ that now is really only played by 1 tricks and swure maybe his win% is high but that is because people that play him are dedicated to the champion and can play him well. I sometimes believe riot nerfs/changes things without really thinking of the roll-over effects that is has on other champions.

What...Gangplank sucks for a long time after he gets a trinity, he is kinda "okish" with a trinity....1v1 any champ...yaaaaa

Ziggs sympathizes, but points out it could be worse (being picked for the LCS once a season would be lucky).

Trinity getting more crit in the first place was a mistake. It's unfortunate but to the non marskman/adc who built it, this is a good thing

well like i said if they go through with the changes, i think GP needs a bit of love in return maybe fix his horrible mana issues so he doesnt have to rush sheen and can maybe get another item like essence reaver without feeling like he is inclined to build a sub optimal item.

As another GP main, he'll live. But, he'll become less reliable... He relies on "dat one big crit" If my lategame 3 barrel combo doesnt crit after dis change because i cant build 100% crit.... i would be sad. Ima try full armor pen Gp myself

sure he'll "live" but RNG is what kills GP, hell being forced to build two attack speed items to get 100% crit isnt even optimal but we are forced to if we want to take the RNG out of the picture. RNG is fun to an extent but it;s getting to that 100% crit late game that really lets GP shine. its not even going to be possible with the change unless you want to build him in an extremely inefficient way that in turn is just going to be a way weaker version of an already balanced champion.

people in lcs build 2 infinity edges on him. anyway. you shouldn't just have the perfect crit build path. which gp did have. er trinity and ie. too good. i mean you want the sheen proc and the crit as well. thats why both him and corki were nerfed heavily. well gp is still pretty damn good. I doubt this will be a HUGE setback for him. i mean hell his Q procs statik shiv. people actually even in pro play build attack speed item on him and have better dueling potential and waveclear. ie + er+ say phantom dancer is 70% crit, pretty solid. nobody ever goes to 100% crit 90% of the time. and you can still go for trinity force. though you'd have some crazy attack speed. just get in melee and slap some fools

Yea this nerf will hurt GP pretty significantly. We will see if riot balance team feels the need to make changes to GP to compensate.
