kayn legit 1shotting s1
man that kalista sure made many mistakes to not be able to counterplay that kayn. such a shit adc, if she played better that would be easy cause adcs are totally broken, damage is balanced.

She made the mistake of playing this stupid ass game.

i actually laughed.... because its true.. the sad part is all day today im like..
im soo bored i want to have fun... play league.. and then i remember I'm trying to have fun... so i got to remind myself... league is no longer fun. i have to find something else that is actually fun now.
god how i wish league was fun again...
I know this opinion is usually unpopular, but cinderhulk back in early S5 was my heart and soul, and now I just feel sad that it's gone...Games were interesting...now its just...this...^
How is saying the cinderhulk meta was good an unpopular opinion?
I know, really... People will tell you we have rose-tinted glasses, but S5 "tank meta" had did have overwhelmingly positive feedback and you can still find the most popular threads from the time and read why contemporary players were enjoying it.
It's also funny that it was even called a "tank meta" just because tanks were properly tanky, yet tanks were actually played less than fighters/slayers in top and jungle, mid was a diverse mix of mages/assassins/marksmen, and bot was still 99+% marksmen, and supports were a diverse mix of controllers/tanks/mages. There was no actual tank domination, so I don't think it was a "tank meta" but was just a nearly balanced game. Diver fighters and slayers building sunfire and ibg were actually more prevalent than tanks.
i honestly believe people called it "tank meta" just because
could go mid and was able to build
+ 5 damage items but still got melted by any sustained damage or got cancelled out by early dominant champs.
other than that i rarely saw 3+ tanks on any team outside of lcs
if i remember correctly the biggest problem of "tank meta" was
but i might be wrong
lol so true
And then he just slipped away through the wall as if nothing has happened
This bugs me the most tbh

I have a friend who came back to LoL recently, he never played against Kayn (i explained him the basics of Kayn gameplay before the match though) and when he witnessed Kayn shadowslipping through thick terrain after wrecking me within matter of 2 seconds he was like "This is why I am not playing MOBAs nowadays" Can't drag him out of Warframe since then
Zed ults and misses everything. But then he just flashes on autos u twice and the ult kills you. I started banning Zed bc of this. I used to always ban jax but you can outplay jax
LUL. Everyone trying to dodge shurikens when I'm here auto attacking their ass.
"tHaTs jUsT aN aSsAsSiN dOiNg HiS jObBb"
He must be super fed to do that damage
Super fed? If you look closely his w did only a little dmg to lulu and his q only did a tiny bit of damage to kalista. Pretty sure he wasn't that fed. Only his ult fucking one shot kalista for no reason.

Support items bought may have helped mitigate the damage. Kayns w is also ranked second so he may not have had all his points in it.
and his q only did a tiny bit of damage to kalista.
Lulu shielded her from both portions of the hit.

Dark harvest probably triggered and more than likely he had a large amount of AD.
Mathematically speaking it is impossible for his Q to do only a little damage but his ult to blow up a target.
More than likely kayn is fed judging from the scorebard. He had high predator marks which mean when his ukt triggrred oredator did afterwards too.
The Q fid much more damage since it ripped the sheild off.
This poor gif hides a lot o information outside the players name. I am sure a match history review will explain wuite a bit more than anyone acting surprised will admit.
Before I say anything I need to know
That's what I'm saying. Fed assassins of any kind do the same shit if they're extremely fed. This is nothing new.
Kayne was 1k down on kalista in a 1v3
I like how people completly trashtalk Riot balance using this example when we clearly have no idea of wich items Kalista and Kayn had because you hide the scoreboard for some reason. That example right there can't be used as argument since you hide so much important information to completly analises this case.
I like how people completely miss the point every time a clip or gif or pic showing insane damage is posted.
The point isn't "Kayn is op". The point is that this insane damage makes the game unfun.
I like how people like you act if something like this wouldn't happen in the previous seasons. i like how you cimpletly ignore any factor like OPs did and just accept the mentalitty "Oh my god, so broken!", without having a look at in-depth stats of what happened.. i like how people let their nostaligy ignore such things as AP Tristana / AP Master Yi / Juggernaunt patch / and so on ... Such things as this would happen in past seasons definitely. You guys just use this stupid example to justify your bias opinion. So pathetic.

In previous seasons it happened nowhere near as frequently as it does today. And when it did, it was still a problem.

I quite literally spelled out that it's not about balance.
Well it did happen in past seasons, but the amount of champions/builds capable of it were significantly smaller than they are today.
He was obviously very fed and left to free farm and left unpunished through his weak ass early game. (This coming from a kayn main)
http://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=otisbilly His match history, in case anyone wants to see his "massive lead" (1k gold behind Kalista)
Something tells me that kayn was insanely fed.
"Edit"
Apparently fed but not terribly so, instead it was a case of kalista having 0 armor while he had lethality and dark harvest+duskblade.
A tiny 150-200 barrier from lulu wont prevent a glass cannon from exploding with that much coming in.
Kalista did have GA. But anyway the problem isn't that the numbers don't add up. It's that this should not be the norm.

The numbers do add up. She is a squishy champ up against an assassin who deals 30% more damage as magic damage, with dark harvest and a duskblade to cause the pop.
Should assassins not be able to blow squishies up so easily? He had ripped off the shield entirely and clearly was ahead in that point of the game where it was 38 to 28

I didn't say they don't. I said it's besides the point.
Should assassins not be able to blow squishies up so easily?
It should take more than that, yes. And I realize that this in turn would mean they'd get killed faster than they'd kill their primary targets, but that just means others need their time-to-kill raised as well.
Well i mean, you might be right but that requires an entire re balancing of the game. We can't adjust Damage Output from all the champions in the game without also adjusting Armor and MR along with Tanks, Sheilding and Healing would need to be adjusted heavily as well, base stat changes the list literally goes on and on.
The issue here isn't even Kayn himself it's Darkharvest and Duskblade which, to remind you, Duskblade has been a problem since it's release.
Indeed, there's many steps to take to fix this mess. But you gotta start somewhere. Any improvement is better than none.
Kalista did have GA. But anyway the problem isn't that the numbers don't add up. It's that this should not be the norm.
If i am not mistaken the time this went down was around 22 minutes, kalista didnt get GA until 30+

I really hope he had 3 infernals there -.-
Could you possibly get a lower quality gif?
idk. ask the fiurst result that came up when i looked for "youtube to gif"
Harvest getting the bonus magic damage from his passive tho
oof
This is pretty normal. *Assassin Player Although in all seriousness, you need to stop saying assassins are broken. Riot intended them to kill squishy targets. The damage he just did depends on whether he was fed or not. Everyone should respect an assassin's damage on whether they are fed or not. That Kalista should have taken care and not just walked upto Kayn and get hit by his Q. Let's live in unity and respect each class for what they do.
This is pretty normal. Although in all seriousness, That Kalista should have taken care and not just walked upto Kayn and get hit by his Q
Can't get within max auto range of an assassin, even when you know how to kite and have a protective support with you, otherwise you're just bad at the game, right?
How much effort does it take for Kayn to kill Kalista and how much effort does it take for Kalista to avoid that? What is she supposed to do, sit in fountain? Hell, even then Kayn could kill her with that damage.
For kayn to kill kalista, and he's probably the easiest assassin in the game, he just needs to land his skilshots(W+Q), secure his escape route and in most cases use his R to finish her off. if Kalista has Heal he has to pop her heal first, if she has flash, he has to pop her flash first if Lulu hasn't used her Shield in 4 seconds, he has to get lulu to use her sheild, if lulu hasn't used her R he has to get lulu to use her R.
For kalista to survive that, first she didn't need to be in the jungle at that point in the game anyway. Second, she should be constantly grouped, she's an ADC, she needs protection. Third, she could use Heal, Flash or Lulu R to survive which in 90% of cases a Heal or Lulu R will save you from any assassin, in addition the Lulu made a mistake by using her CC to early, kayn noticed that and took advantage of it. Also, should probably note that kalista walked into kayn at melee range so the chances she was getting out of that were slim to none.
I agree that damage is too high but i also think it's note worthy to take a look the mistakes that the player made to put themselves into that position. Too often squishy, immobile carries forget that the job of an assassin is to keep you out of the game because without them the entire game would be centered on carries and who's carry is stronger than the other(Ardent Meta btw). You have to respect an assassins ability to catch you, make you waste sums and big cooldowns and come back just a little bit later to finish you off, you have to repect their damage and play around the fact that THEY WERE MADE TO KILL YOU!
if Kalista has Heal he has to pop her heal first, if she has flash, he has to pop her flash first
They make no difference when a point-and-click ability pops +90% of her health
For kalista to survive that, first she didn't need to be in the jungle at that point in the game anyway. Second, she should be constantly grouped, she's an ADC, she needs protection.
Sion was chasing the Kayn, so they knew he was there and he was alone. They meant to kill him. That's what Kalista was there for. And a tank and enchanter should be plenty of protection.
Third, she could use Heal, Flash or Lulu R to survive which in 90% of cases a Heal or Lulu R will save you from any assassin
She was almost full health. Does it seem reasonable to use up all your defense when you've barely been scratched?
kalista walked into kayn at melee range so the chances she was getting out of that were slim to none.
All that happened when she got that close was that the Kayn hit the second part of his Q, which he easily could even if she didn't make that misstep
Too often squishy, immobile carries...
Kalista and immobile.
It's not like a dash or blink would protect you from an undodgeable nuke anyway.
You have to respect an assassins ability to
catch you, make you waste sums and big cooldowns and come back just a little bit later to finish you offfreely run you down if you don't have something like Zhonya or GA
I agree that damage is too high but i also think it's note worthy to take a look the mistakes that the player made to put themselves into that position.
She made the mistake of stepping out of fountain without a full tank build.
Seriously, the only things they did wrong that mattered were Lulu not keeping her CC for when Kayn went on the offensive (which matters only if they can kill Kayn before the duration runs out and Kayn can ult) and neither her, nor Kalista expecting that amount of damage (though we don't know how much exactly Kayn did there, he might just have overkilled Kalista by enough to make at least Heal irrelevant)
You legit refuse to see the point. We can all see that Kayn one shot with just R but the Kalista should have stayed back far away if Kayn was that fed. Assassins are meant to do this. YOU HAVE TO RESPECT THAT.
We can all see that Kayn one shot with just R but the Kalista should have stayed back far away if Kayn was that fed.
Yeah, as I said, she dared step out of fountain.
The game has always had this rock-paper-scisors-like dynamic going on where everything has advantages over something, while having disadvantages against another thing. But that's all there should be - just advantages and disadvantages. Ideally, anyone should be able to beat anyone by playing well enough, with leads and counters only leveraging how much "well enough" is rather than outright determining outcomes.
What we actually have is closer to literal rock paper scissors where if you're X, you dick Y by default. Is that the type of game you want to play?
how come in posts like this we never see items
Yeah. They don't mention the circumstances.
