This is my main problem with pro play. It's retarded that it completely dictates who does / does not flame you in soloq.

my response to every time my brother or his friend ask if a champion is good.

"if you suck it doesnt matter. if you wanna play them then play. if you dont feed then i couldnt care less."

that's my philosophy. i dont care who you play or even where. just win, or at the least, dont feed so the team can recover from it.

if you have to rely on your team to take full advantage of your kit, you're not getting out of bronze. Some of them maybe be strong picks, but you just cant rely on randoms.

This is true in DOTA2 as well, the pubstar mentality gets you so much more MMR in ranked up to around 3500-4000 MMR and then it starts to get coordinated and irritating.

whenever someone tries to say a champion is strong on this board their opinion is disregarded until they're finally picked in the lcs

then when people complain about them potentially being too strong, this board argues that no one said anything about those champion(s) until they saw lcs play, when the reality is that the people who did say those things weren't listened to

it's not that the lcs dictates solo queue so much as it is that people are close-minded until they see a champion picked at the highest level of play

That isn't true at all. The thing to remember is that champion power are constantly being shifted every patch and both solo queue and pro play are very fast at picking up overpowered champions on any given patch. The boards aren't changing their opinion of a champion because they are picked in the lcs, the boards are changing their opinion because that champion got a huge direct or indirect buff in the new patch.

i should clarify since that last post was sorted typed while the thought was still fresh in my head

yeah, you're absolutely right in that slight agitations in the meta push champions in and out of favor (hi, vayne!). my post didn't acknowledge that as a reason why we'll very quickly see the strongest champions on a certain patch picked or banned

i still feel as though pro play is much quicker on the uptake than solo queue is just because of the fact that it's a more organized enviroment

He was played once in the first Cloud 9 World's game and he BLEW UP in the meta after that. Cloud 9 was reacting to his 5.18 patch buffs (which is the patch World's is being played on), while EVERYONE ELSE reacted to the LCS pros.

"Safety buffs"? You wanna talk about safety? Talk to Darius and his 12% missing HP for each enemy hit with his Q BS. You wanna talk about late game scaling? Try telling Nasus to stop hitting towers 3 times and they get destroyed.

You also forgot that he had a massive nerf to his kit earlier in S5. His E had time before it came up. .75 seconds (something anyone with half a brain can easily dodge. Then it got moved to .5 seconds. The only other things they have done since then is make it to where you cant dash through it anymore and give him his Q passive on assists.

Atleast his E doesnt instantly come up. Atleast it takes you 3 seconds to die instead of .5 after a stun. The better scali

kinda reminds me of that one AP Ezreal fiasco that blew up the boards a month or two back. people all freaking out over his ult taking 50-70% of adc's health from a fed ez and all the mains and experienced players ( read been here since S2) are all going, "uhhh...... he always did that. so what's the deal?"

A lot of champions were also nerfed/buffed due to pro play.

Azir really strong in pro play, gutted to the lowest win rate in solo queue Evelynn did well in pro play for a while, consistently nerfed even after she hasn't even been played in Worlds yet Janna was a really great Support, but nerfed over Thresh because apparently she was too much of a generalist, but Thresh is healthy and fine LeeSin wasn't pick or ban for a month and got two decent sized buffs shortly after, but Kassadin with a 39% win rate got 10 more damage on his 800 mana costing ult

I played ashe in mid and didn't die in laning phase, in lobby I got threats of afking but in game they were confused how I wasn't feeding

Ashe mid was old. It was the way ADC were meant to be played at the beginning, pre-season 1. That was before the support/ADC bot meta, and you'd see mid lane ADC a lot in addition to the AP mids that you are now familiar with.

I believe that players noticed that the ADC were getting owned by AP carries in mid (due to them having stronger level scaling which occurred sooner than an ADC's advantage of item scaling) which is why they eventually went bot to be babysat for their weak first half of the game (I used to play Soraka mid until I was told that my role was to buy a philo stone/HoG and just watch the ADC farm at bot).

No, Tahm's been like this for ages, just no one had the balls to try someone that wasn't already being played. Champs like Wukong are insanely strong right now, yet gets way less play then he should. Why? Because he's not getting play in the LCS. If for some reason he did get a couple games, he'd be spammed and complained about the next day. Honestly this community needs to stop relying on the pros to show them the way.

Well, I played him a couple of days ago with friends cause I wanted to troll and he's pretty good for that, but when I played with a bard support I rarely won my games cause he fucks his ult at the end, always, seriously always, he can be god during the game but he will fuck his ult up and lose the game cause of it.

Ekko was never considered trash, if anything his kit is still overloaded but it's less obvious with the Juggernauts around right now, unlike Riven and Lee Sin.
