Untargetable soldiers destroying my wards has SO much counterplay
I cannot possibly convey just how healthy this mechanic is.
Thanks Riot.

Meh he used mana and burnt a few CDs to destroy ward, doesn't seem too OP to me.
Assuming you're talking about Azir.
I think every sane person knows Azir is broken atm
He'll be nerfed, especially since Cass was. Just wait for the PBE nerfs

You learn something new everyday.
Such as 3rd lowest winrate champion can be "broken"(I bet he meant "broken OP")

Yeah... this doesn't make too much sense. Azir doesn't need nerfs, he needs help.
He doesn't need either. His spot right now is perfect - buffing him will lead to nothing but big nerfs.
um what? Azir is not only hard to play but hes bismal, he has clear weaknesses and strengths. Don't ever spout such nonsense again.
It is a bit strange that he can attack wards with his soldiers, but I would hardly call it a huge problrm. Just kill him while he wastes time with the ward
Azir has counters. Just use LB or some other assassin.
I'm glad you feel that way, it's so good to know not everyone is whining about game design

What? Why wouldn't you go and attack him instead of the soldier? He has to remain in relative attack range in order to even command his soldiers, even less to spawn them. At this point, he's not much different than a ranged ADC, except he would have to spend mana to do this. If you could kill his soldiers, then somethings gotta give. Either they last much longer on their own or something.
He can take out the ward from a safe distance is what the OP is trying to say. I have to say that I agree that his soldiers should be targetable by players and turrets.

But as I said, if they could be targeted, a whole lot has got to give so Azir isn't shit.
yea, he really shouldn´t be able to attack wards with his soldiers - making them nearly indefensible in most situations.
Then place your wards when he's not around.
Or at least when he hasn't got a soldier in range.

I agree with this.
It's not like Azir is allowed to buy Sweeping Lens, Oracle's Lens, Vision Wards, or have one of his soldiers be in range of a revealed ward while he's a safe distance away, letting his untargetable unit destroy said ward uncontested.
So he can either use resources availible to any champion, or spend mana to have a soldier allocated to a spot on the map which may or may not be strategically viable.
(I just realised op might be talking about clearing wards revealed after they were placed, I had assumed he had some great ability to clear them before they stealthed <.< facepalm)
It doesn't seem like all that much of a big deal really, if he reveals it himself he still has to get in close, and if he doesn't someone else is probably is still close.
Wards get taken out, whether you're able to retaliate or not.
You're not always able to jump jayce fast-clearing a ward either.
Or whomever is clearing one on the other side of the map.
It sounds like the worst strength for a champion every tbh "really safe when clearing wards, at least when other people reveal them". But maybe it is a really big deal which impacts him a lot?
I wouldn't know, and there are probably others who know better than me.
P.S. I'm assuming you were being sarcastic?

yeah, i laced that post with sarcasm
anyway, azir has a lot of random power in his kit that seems questionable to add to a champ with great siege potential. the ward clearing with untargetable units is admittedly small when identifying a champion's strength, but minor nuances that seem tacked on are a great way to overload a kit and make their weaknesses harder to exploit
Ok that's a much better way of saying it, and i can see the random power argument.
Although I don't think champions get overloaded from accumulation of minor strengths.
It's when doing one thing you're able to do doesn't restrict you properly from doing other things that champions get overloaded.
For instance, one could think Nidalee is overloaded because poking me all day long doesn't do anything to drain her dueling capabilities.
Overloading a kit is done by giving them too many fallbacks in my opinion. Like, to me Ekko looks really overloaded, because if his slow doesn't land then his stun will, and if his stun doesn't land then he'll just dashblink in anyway. And of course he gets both bonus combo damage and bonus excecute damage.
And nothing he does will ever restrict him from healing up and disengaging all at once (except from positioning so that his disengage will instead be a huge nuke).
So i'm fine with Azir leaving one out of three soldiers somewhere else for a little while. Especially if his W and CDR aren't maxed out yet.
He still pays for his range, and has to use one ability to get it in the first place, another if he wants to extend it further from his current position.
Caitlyn does not have to allocate any strategic resource to clear a ward, and only gets 175 less range (before Azir uses his Q or moves further away from the ward)
A low mana cost ability with an effective CD of at least 4.8 seconds (with max rank and 40% CDR) sounds about right for getting 300 range.
And that's really all you're getting against a ward.
I guess I'll leave it (at least for the night) with my opinion being that if Azir's safety due to his soldiers is to be discussed, it shouldn't be on the basis of his ward killing prowess.
If Azir is unbalancedly put together or not comes down to whether his Siege is too strong/weak, whether his Teamfighting potential is too strong/weak, or whether his safety in extreme potential range and chase/escape capabilities give him too many strengths and too few weaknesses.
My overly long post on a verry little relevant topic tells me that the clock is right in that I should've gone to bed 3 hours ago. <.<
So i'ma go do that.
P.S.
What's Azir's actual potential max range, including his soldiers' individual range?
Couldn't find it on the wiki.
I have a solution: Just make it so he can't hit wards with soldiers.
POOF Problem solved. ![]()
Nice new FEK btw, OP.
