What lane/role is Fiddle best at now?

The new skin kind of reminded me Fiddlesticks exists (sorry) and I'm tempted to dust him off, but not sure which slot he's best at now. I see Supportlesticks sometimes, and I know he was one of the first Junglers and sometimes a Mid, but not sure which one works best for him currently.

Jungle is really the best place for him. Laning with him is severely more difficult because his kit is all about that surprise factor.

Jungle is where he lives, even though with most META junglers he gets destroyed, while mid is the only other place. Yes middlestick is a thing but it requires much more skill and alot of wards.

Nothing. He sucks now. I used to play him all the time everywhere...now he is outclassed by everything. He gets completely outclassed by tank junglers AND early ganking junglers. Wards kill his gank potential. Used to love him...but about 15 nerfs later, he sucks.

He's ok top too if you know how to trade effectively using his combo.

well, since Fiddle is a dot mage, I imagine he might do well with tank shredding build? item 3116 item 3151 item 3135 + mana, and probably item 3157 Build Cinderhulk instead of magus, and you'll probably do better. Magus sucks on most mages, unless their midlaner can give them Blue Yasuo

Edit: yeah, and make sure you buy Pink wards. Like Nucleophilic said, wards counter him hard.

So, after playing a Middlesticks game, my initial impression (since I haven't touched him in ages) is that he's really badly outdated. Too short range to be of practical use for CC, channel times on W and R are too long for League's current glut of mobility, and having to channel the ult before it does anything is stupid and awkward when so any other champions with so much more powerful ults can just instantly click them and have them fire off.

I'd almost suspect Fiddle is probably in the Rework Shop with Ryze and Ashe, he just feels that dated and clunky. Dunno if it's a lack of practice on him or what, but I wasn't good for much besides KSing and cleanup. Even just trying to get close enough to Fear someone got me dumped on by everything. :(
