help me understand sennas new itembuild

didnt play her for ~ 1 week and suddenly she goes tear, runaans and full lethality. why? runaans makes sense. but why tear? people told me because she has high mana cost... well by that logic amumu should get a tear aswell his ult on lv 3 costs 200 mana and he doesnt even reach 1k mana total. lethality why? with ie her crit is almost a regular 200% crit. and imo thats way better considering she gets to 100% with just ie.

why do ppl go "cause healing reduction is good" again, yes but not every mage goes morellos. and lord dominiks penetrates more.

ppl go ghostblade over duskblade... WHY!? doesnt her bonus ms from aa make you happy enough?

but for real please help me understand this new senna build.

IE doesn't "fix" her crits. It isn't additive, it's multiplicative. Her crits wiith IE do 100% damage + (100%.651.25) = 181% damage per crit. Normal crits are 200%, normal Senna crits are 165%.

Lethality is good because all of her damage is physical, and it allows her to be more effective at bullying people out in the early game before people can build armor. Ghostblade is good because it lets her escape from bad situations and roam easier.

Manamune fixes her mana problems and she can apply it in an AoE with Q.

and well... many champs deal only (mainly) ad damage. tryn for example. doesnt mean lethality is his best option

think of senna as a weird combination of Jhin, Thresh and Kindred

Jhin - lethality Jhin is a thing Thresh - ADC Thresh generally build Duskblade and Yommus commonly Kindred - meh

which part of senna is similar to kindred? the stacking which results in more range?

granted I think it is more in line with OG Kindred and not the current one whose passive was nerfed because "Killing Baron from dragon pit is broken"

I fully expect Senna's passive to get some heavy handed nerfs

It applies on hit effects once to each enemy champions and turrets hit (if there are any that work on turrets, that is).

With free Crit, and AS being so weak on her, Lethality is her only other real damage multiplier.

Tear only really has Essence Reaver as competition as an AD mana item, and it doesn't kick in till it's completed, at which point lane is mostly over and freely recalling is now an option.
