Remember when some red told us this wasn't going to happen
citation?
I would cite but it's pretty annoying going through hundreds of help and support red posts before coming to a post by a game desinger then reading it to see which one it was.
You don't have to link the specific comment, I'm just wondering who said that beyond a vague "red." At least some reference is all I'm asking for.
All 3 of them have super good early games, and fall off late.
just like every year.... Ever since S3 started, pro-jungle always was just a few junglers that were beyond godlike earlygame.... The raw idea of handing a champ fast clears, good sustain, high damage and good gank-utillity(mobillity*CC) aswell as safety in the just asks for balance issues. In coordinated teams, it doesn't matter that those champs fall off late, the snowball they creat early just roles to victory. In soloQ, thats an entire different story, most players notoriously bad at closing out games and converting a snowball into a solid lead followed by victory, but at an proffesional level they know how to convert an early snowball into a victory.

FTFY
Really, the notion that early game junglers are only good in competitive is BS, they are only good when both their players and their teammates know how to make the most of their strengths(or at least a good portion of them), it's not about coordinated or professional play, just skilled play, and the better the players, the worse the problem gets.
just skilled play, and the better the players, the worse the problem gets.
The Pinacle of skilled play is the proffessional scene, which is where the problem is worst, and riot balances(or try to...maybe) them around proplay if they are problematic, hence they are not as effective below that level.
Sure, at high level diamond and up, especially in 5vs5premade, they are still problematic, though i'd dare to claim that 5vs5 premade at master+ is already semi proffesional.
At lower dimond already and more so below, they might be problematic in terms of gamehealth, but are balanced if not even weak in terms of raw power. I mean if we take lee, who is seems to be the best performing jungler at worlds so far, at plat+ with 125+games, he's still at a below 50% winrate. Elise, who's aout the most contested jungler reaches a ~52% winrate for that, which for 125+ games is a rather lowish winrate The only early jungler that does really well in plat+ already is Nida, and she's 100% ban at worlds so far for a reason.

One could argue that in very high uncoordinated play the problem might be worse, as due to lack of coordination it's easier for these types of junglers to rack up kills and an advantage than in coordinated play, but the emphasis here is on might, kind of hard to decide on that.

Look let's be serious here, 100% p/b and the fact early junglers dominate the competitive scene like 95% of the time(when cindlehulk was broken you saw some sejuani which even at her stronger state wasn't amazing early, so that's the 5%), I don't think it's fair to say they even maybe try to balance them around pro play, they balance them for platinum, more or less.

They are already borderline problematic at low diamond, at high diamond they are problematic period, but 5v5 premade doesn't change much there.
At lower dimond already and more so below, they might be problematic in terms of gamehealth, but are balanced if not even weak in terms of raw power.
They aren't, it's just that to bring out their problems takes a jungle main, but a lot of crappy junglers play them too, making their statistics look worse than they actually are.

Uh, what? The most prominent junglers at worlds are elise, nida, reksai. I mean I can go by winrates, I'd rather respect the teams for what they see as their best options.
at plat+ with 125+games, he's still at a below 50% winrate.
First of all: plat isn't diamond, not even low diamond, it's not just that plat+= mostly lower levels of plat, as that's how it's distributed, looking at plat+ winrate= ~plat 4 winrates
Anyway lee is probably the epitome of this pattern, he falls off harder than any of those, he is also often played by people who quite frankly shouldn't be playing him, and his winrate takes a hit for that(125+ games on lee won't turn your into a jungle main, and too many people who main other roles play him in the jungle even though they don't main it)
Elise, who's aout the most contested jungler reaches a ~52% winrate for that, which for 125+ games is a rather lowish winrate
I'm never happy about the sample size for 125+ games, she has a 49% winrate with 50 average games, that's decent, but yeah she grows stronger with elo.
The only early jungler that does really well in plat+ already is Nida, and she's 100% ban at worlds so far for a reason.
Well yes.
Overall this feels like bickering, I think we both agree they are an issue at the higher elos and weaker lower, we just mostly disagree on where the transition starts, I'd say low diamond is where they start overshadowing their opponents if played by a jungle main.
but probably only two of the three will get heavy nerfs.
well we just started to calm down
but elise as i suspected gonna be picked in every game. because elise
Well, shes a strong early game jungler, but honestly, shes just weak late game, her damage falls off, and shes not that tanky compared to other junglers. She is either a win, or loss, having her on the team does not increase the chances of winning unlike some of the other picks.

Every single champion in the game is a win or a loss
Her damage does not fall off. Rather, her ability to apply her damage falls off. Her full combo is extremely powerful late game, but it takes time to apply her full combo and that doesn't really work in late game teamfights.
Yep. If you build AP bruiser (end up with about 400-450 AP and a fair bit of bulk) you will one-shot squishies late game. She just really really struggles to actually get onto people to do that.
Yeah I thought the last round of Rek'sai nerfs were enough that she wouldn't be p/b but no.
Three jungles being p/b does not mean that the jungler class is strong. What it means is that those three junglers are much stronger than other junglers.
Ya champs that can take beatings are dealing too much damage across the board.
I wouldn't say that. I'm watching a Zac explode before his ulti is even finished. He deals decent damage and is extremely tanky. Olaf is another, I see him ulti in and then turn around after about 2 seconds to haul ass away after taking the first few spells. I don't see individual tanks really lasting long. However when I see 3 tanky champs on a team, I see them lasting for days on the back line and slowly grinding them down. I'd say you'd need at least 2 champs to dive to last and have meaningful impact on the back line.
Last year it was Mordekaiser tho
yeah mordekaiser that was bot lane at level 18 and enemy adc at level 12 is not exactly a good reason for him to be picked. unhealthy and stupid.
anyway he was played like 3 times because he was banned in every other game just like gangplank
Could you maybe post the champs who are dominant in LCS ? I dont watch it,but I'n still interesred in this matter.
As someone once said in a post (can't find it), The Jungler's shout the meta, and the other lanes listen.
Rek'sai was designed to be a pro jungler. If Rek'sai is ever NOT pick/ban, something is very wrong.
Also Riot is out of skin ideas for her so they need the World's skin this year to include her.
I like the support meta even more.
