ARAM Punishments?

LatetotheRace··26 votes·2,104 views

So often I have to wait 2-6 lobbies just to play a single game of ARAM. Not to mention that I often get some of my favorites aka Velkoz, Xerath, Galio, and even urgot, but I don't get to play them. Because some jerk decides he doesn't like his teamcomp or some bs. So maybe give quicker punishments riot? I would really appreciate it.

Always upsets me when people dodge in ARAM. That's literally the point of the game type - to play a random champion. I know it's already set to 15 minute penalties for dodging, but most people just go to their smurf or something... especially since so many people have ARAM only smurfs for the mode to begin with.

I wish there was something else. An incentive for not dodging or a bigger punishment for dodging (such as low queue priority).

They should do dodge penalties based on IP, not just account. That's not perfect, but it would stop a lot of less tech savvy people from dodging.

Would be funny when someone's sibling bursts into their room: "YOU DODGED ANOTHER ARAM!?!"

What if they realized they couldn't play the game?

You'd rather have an AFK?

I have been trying to do this for months, Riot just wont listen.

Been asked for for years. Do not expect a response from Riot.

I think if you dodge you should be stuck with that champion next time you queue up. It'd probably cut down on dodgers.

The match making system would have to take this into account, of course. Can't have two people who dodged when they got <Insert Champion Name> on the same team. If they queue up together tell them they will have to play separate games until the penalty is gone.

It shouldn't be an abuseable system either, since you'd have to play that champion in one game or the other.

People also dodge becaouse of team, not only because of the champion they get.

They should also make it so that ALL champions are available (like they did with Nemesis), it would remedy those annoying accounts that only play ARAMS and only own what is "OP" on ARAMS.

IMO if you get a champ you like in ARAM you should have the option to "save" that champion. Which means that if someone dodges you will automatically get that champ next ARAM you go into.

Honestly, why play ARAM if you'll just leave if you get a bad champ. Thats what I dont understand Literally called, all RANDOM

No support. Your champion is completely RNG based and if it fucks you with 5 melee champions with no real means of engage it's a painful experience.

Excuse me? Gangplank is one of my top 5 favorite aram Champs.

Łunacy1 votes

Gangplank is an exception because critplank does extremely well on that map.

and then you win with that 5 melee team and feel 1000 times better than if you won with ziggs, soraka, xerath, nidalee and sona.

You think this is bad? Did you play ARAM back when it was only in customs?

Saianna1 votes

actually back then ppl dodged arams just as much :|

  • we knew who dodged
Space Bum1 votes

no no no, dodging was 100X worse because people could leave and go right into another game.

Saianna2 votes

Yeah, but sometimes ppl dodge ARAM just as much as back in custom games, seriously. Today had unlucky streak of 11 dodges. Eleven. Oh and i remember blacklists of dodgers.. Ha! Some game owners were like "oh you dodged my game x days ago. bai bai"

I have about 100 of champions. For some weird reason dodgers just know when i get a decent ARAM champion i like... They just have to know it.. somehow

I have over 1000 custom wins, mostly from classic ARAM, and I miss this functionality... I still have a spreadsheet of 207 names of dodgers.

For the original question, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing the penalty increased to an hour or something. But I don't think that will do much to deter dodging, because many people have developed a few ARAM accounts they could switch to. But for someone like me, who does OCCASIONALLY dodge (there are 3 champions I REFUSE to play, because I am just SO BAD with them that I WILL be flamed through the entire match, and that is not fun for anybody,) and doesn't use alts to play ARAM, I would gladly wait longer than 15 minutes as punishment. Or just not dodge if I don't have an hour to wait. I realize this behavior ruins the nature of the game, and even if I think my reasons are justified, they really aren't and it's not fair to anyone else.

Just stop taking ARAM so seriously. The players there are only really dodge happy when you get in to the high MMR ARAM players. If you just don't dodge and play whatever champion it gives you every time, you probably won't get your rating high enough to get with all the players that dodge all the time.

Dirty Xerath/Velkoz ARAM player. :P

Riot doesn't do anything about AFKs, dodgers, or the like.

Been having these issues forever, and not just in ARAM.

ARAM dodgers have been an issue for years. Zero has been done about it. It isn't a financial boon to them so, it won't be done.

I have to agree with you there. Riot seems to be all about the money most of the time and it really makes for a sour experience in many cases. Guess they fail to realize that the worse people feel about playing LoL, the less they feel like spending money on it.

No rerolls returns for que dodgers!!! They reroll and dont like what they got and dodge keeping all their rolls. Dat's just whack.

Have ARAM specific leaver times that dunk on people that dodge twice in ARAM select b4 actually playing out a game. Like, they'll still be general leaver times so they can't play any other modes either, but be twice or three times as long specifically for the ARAM que.

You do not keep the rerolls expended if you dodge.

This is people that do that not only get queue dodge penalties upwards of 20 minutes to an hour but also get bans for that as well.
