The 8.16 tank changes wont fix the game

A bunch of tanks are getting changes to make them more tanky in a burst meta. But this won't change anything

I almost exclusively play tanks in the top lane, and I win my matchups about 70% of the time. Making me tankier wont hep me win the game on a tank champ because that isnt the problem atm. The problem is that even when you get fed or ahead on a tank that there is not much you can do to save your teammates from getting popped in less than 2 seconds during a teamfight. Hopefully the electrocute nerfs will help this a bit, but what really needs to be done is to give everyone more resists at the start of games. About 7 MR and armor across the board to all champs. This would reduce early game damage from everyone, thus reducing snowballing.

Just my 2 cents, because further polarizing the meta between tankier tanks and burstier damage champs isnt going to fix the current problem

Im not saying that its a class update or going to become a tank meta.

Riot was addressing concerns about the lack of tanks being picked at all levels of the game. There response was a slight numbers buff to ~5 tank (i dont think that the naut changes are a buff, but w/e)

I'm saying that the changes are meaningless because they dont address the problems with the game which result in tanks not being picked, which is that regardless of how tanky you are when playing a tank, you cannot help prevent your teammates from being destroyed by the incredibly high burst which currently exists

Hell naut got worse vs burst...

Broad changes like +7 armor and mr would flat out break the game. Lane bullies would be immune to punishment and weak lanes would be invalidated.

Broad sweating changes are never the right course of action. (the varience here is so low I feel safe using an absolute)

They are taking the right approach. Nudging the outliers. If you nudge both sides enough eventually you will meet in the middle (theoretically).

The old rune system allowed everyone to run 9 armor and ~7 MR if i recall. Buffing everyone across the board would accomplish this and not break the game.

9 armor and 12 mr if you took yellows and blues respectively. However. That doesn't take into account the new rune/mastery system which has far stronger defensive options compared to the old system and far stronger damage potential as well. What used to be balanced can't just be reimplemented without drastic conveniences due to the shifting goalposts of balance.

Sure. Everyone would take less damage. However armor and MR is vastly more useful on champions who have a lower base. So if you give someone who has 35 base armor 7 armor it's less useful then 7 armor on, say, Sona. Who has like 16. That makes Sona disproportionately more likely to benifit from those changes then a stuffing tank who already has high armor MR. And speaking of toplane (which I play most) giving champions like gnar and jayce and kennen won't help anyone but those three. Because 7 armor on darius/garen isn't going to help much at all against concistant harass while those same champions cannot capitalize on mistakes to the same extent. What once may have been lethal damage now doesn't kill them, and instead of slavaging a lane you burned your sums for no gain.

This is what I mean. Adding shit like this at this point would literally destroy any seblance of balance which has been achieved.
