Diana rework idea. (Coming from a Diana main)

Not that Diana needs a rework but I thought of a cool idea.

Passive: Diana can purchase either blade of the moon or armor of the lunari from the store

Blade of the moon upgrades with more gold but provides 1 ap per level and 10 ap and 3% attack speed per level

Armor of the lunari provides armor per level a small amount of ap per level and a little bit of health per level.

Cresent strike is the same

Pale crusade: Diana surrounds herself with 5 orbs and sheilds herself for an amount equal to a % of her bonus health. Dianas next 5 attacks expend and orb increasing her sheild and dealing magic damage on hit

E: same but

Blade of the moon bonus: Diana let's out a lunar pulse which pushes Enemy's away a small distance that are outside of the range of her pull and deals a small amount of magic damage

Armor of the lunari bonus: adds armor and magic resist to Diana for a short time. Auto attacks extend the duration and reduce the cooldown by 1 second

R: same

Let me know what you guys think

Currently, Diana's W is essential for doing a RWQ assassination (note, we are not doing double Rs by hitting Q first, we are R for a point black 3 org hit and a point blank q that is most likely to land, at least much more likely than from long range). Assassination time: 0.5 sec. Very unpredictable. But quite dangerous. A high risk, high reward play.

If your new W does more damage -> its going to be over powered If your new W does less damage -> its going to be underpowered If your new W does the same damage -> its still bad since you will not unload your entire damage in a fraction of a second but require more time since you want to put its power into 5 auto attacks, and those 5 auto attacks will not happen in a second unless your name is late game kog.

And finally. The reason Diana is currently a valid pick is due to her current passive. It gives her split push powers. It gives her very good late game scaling. It gives access to DPS or "bruiser" build paths.

Your rework idea will push Diana from the assassin playstyle she currently has. Or at least, the most successful play style she currently has, that the majority of Diana players enjoy. Into a more bruiser focus Diana, which will be different. So, it will change her in-game identity.

That's my 2 cents about it. I like current Diana playstyle (assassination-dps-split pusher), since you plan to change what I like about the hero, I don't like your "rework".

Regardless of that, riot will destroy current Diana in like an year or less. So, I don't really care anymore ^^

It doesn't effect her ability to hit towers at all considering w would be empowered auto attacks. Yes it does take away from her assassination. That's kind of the point. If you are playing her one shot combo then there is no difference between Diana and LeBlanc. They are doing th e exact same thing. Q then dive in. This would make Diana unique and give her a bruiser build option

Also if you might have not realized that at level 10 you would have the same attack speed as she has now and even more late game. Her e would basically be a xin ult in a team fight as well making assassination easier. And if you still don't like it but a feeling lichbane and do one auto attack to make up for the w

sry, there is a huge difference between Diana and LeBlank. Many times, I ended up facing feed leblanks as Diana due to me getting camped. But as soon as I hit 2 items, that leblank was melting. LeBlank does a lot of single target damage with her QQW combo. Or a lot of AoE burst but not really targeted with QWW. Diana is different. Diana does BOTH, single target and AoE burst is a small area. Also, as I mentioned above, the combo that I use for Diana is R first. Why? Because me, and most Diana players will generally prefer to hit Q first for R reset, then go in. But that's different, Diana DOESN'T HAVE TO hit Q first. She get R first to guaranteed that W and Q will also land.

Another huge difference between the two is that LeBlank can't wave clear. Diana can help with wave clear as her Q is ranged. And as far as split pushing. Diana is BY FAR the better one at taking down turrets or even objectives. However, LeBlank has very good poke and very good mobility. This is what Diana lacks and is what sets these two assassins apart.

As far as "bruiser" Diana. Its a highly ineffective playstyle. As such, the majority of Diana player do not adopt it. And I don't believe its nice for you to try to force it on us (don't worry, riot will probably do the same thing).

Also, you made 1 more mistake. You think Diana wants to use her E to push people away. Its the opposite. She wants EVERYONE GATHERED TOGETHER, so her W explodes for massive damage. Also more targets to hit with Q at a once.

Look, your intention might be good (give bruiser Diana a chance). But you are doing that at the expense of assassin Diana. And that's the Diana I'm maining (Even though I don't really matter since I'm semi retired/quit). Almost every other Diana player plays her as an assassin. That means brusier Diana is not popular so you will only hurt the mains by nerfing the assassin Diana play style.

Ps, my standard build for RWQ combo is nashors, lich bane, void staff. It would require me to give up nashors for echo to one shot targets with Diana. If it were for your changes to happen. And giving up nashors means giving up split push power and team fight dps after I 1shot the enemy carry

I see your point of view. It would deffinitly hurt assassin Diana but I don't think it's that dramatic at all because her current w only has 3 orbs and I deffinitly think that Diana real only aoe is her passive and her q. Her pull is used so that the rest of your team can come in but my e idea marks her as an assassin only or a brusier only. I think that Diana is teetering under the radar of op right now and for the health of them game this was pretty balenced in my opinion.

I think part of the concept for changes to diana is to tune down her assassination power and make her more clearly in line as a "diver" who is a little more sturdy but a little more sustained damage reliant.

As it is currently her main play style still tends to be auto attack twice to get her passive ready q r e r and potential a q after that.

It is strong but if it is not working well enough diana basically becomes next to useless. Basically suffering from some of the same issues that Rengar has but to a lesser degree.

Thank you for the clarity in that
