Wish Riot would charge 10$ for the game.

If the game cost $ there would be so much less Toxic player and Troll players because getting an account banned would cost you actual money.

It has been proven that people care more then $ is on the line for something.

It would cut down on Troll accounts, Smurf accounts, Scripters accounts. 100% benefit the game.

Didn't Blizzard show that charging for a game to fix the community doesn't work?

  1. People buy League accounts. Usually for the content, but that shows people are willing to pay.

  2. People own Overwatch smurfs, and will buy another account if they lose one.

I will say, while that was not their intention, the intention doesn't matter. People are willing to buy more accounts.

I have often wondered how much my account would be worth lol, I mean my elo is low, but I have all the champs and a ton of skins, including all but one of the 3250 skins

I am not interested in selling the game, but man, Ive been here for like 8 years, so curious about my invested time

It would reduce the number of trolls and smurfs and toxic players.

It would also reduce the number of decent honest players.

Because people don't want to pay money to buy a MOBA that's older than my dog.

You'll be surprised at the number of people who purchase old games on steam.

Seeing how most of the people who get ban bring up the fact the spend money, i doubt it would change!

Yeah sorry, but even Blizzard realized that barring entry behind a price tag turns more players off than on. I mean, except for WoW. They are still riding that cash cow like it's a fresh stallion from the fields.

Overwatch has has a cost to the game? It could just simply be that moba's have a bad rap and people don't want to pay for them.

overwatch is also a brand new game. That was made with the intention of being a game where you actually have to buy it. League is an old fucking game where it was made with the intention of using the F2P plan. So many things would have to be changed for them to even make the change and really for no actual payoff. It'll actually be worse for them to do the change in every single way you look at it except "there won't be that many smurfs/toxic people"

Starcraft 2, Blizzard's arguably biggest cash cow, jsut became free to play. You can't play Heart of the Swarm or Legacy of the Void's campaigns, but you CAN play multiplayer. That is HUGE for Blizzard. And you know what? It worked. Just getting to play the Campaign for Wings of Liberty enticed me into buying the battle chest. By making one of their games free, I bought the other two installments. People like it when they get to try before they spend money on something

Have you heard of World of warcraft????

It wouldn't really do anything about smurfs; most of them spend $100+ dollars on leveling up a new account to 30 so they can do their bronze-challenger or whatever series. Paying ten more dollars would not phase them. The others, maybe, but not smurfs.

I wish theyd make it 10$ so they cant use the f2p excuse anymore

Wait. You just solved LoL's like EVERY PROBLEM. GET THIS MAN A NOBEL PRIZE.

Who the hell would pay 10$ for this RNG infested hackjob of a game? With the current state of Season 8, Riot should be paying people to play League.

Hell, I want a refund from all the time and money I've invested into this game over the years.

League has turned into absolute garbage.

There is fuck-all RNG in this game when compared to almost any other game. Compare Elemental Drakes and Crit Chance in league to all of PUBG or Dota. Dota, where entire characters have RNG on literally every ability (Ogre Magi/Chaos Knight) and critical strike which deals 300% damage but only goes until 30%.

? It already does in the form of people paying bot accounts. It actually costs around $30 for a new one now since all the $5 and $10 were either banned or bought. It's either that or a whole massive ton of farming a new account.

While I do agree that smurfs are kind of ruining the game, since they make the elo system beyond flawed, I simply have no idea how we could effectively deincentivize them to do it, and I am not sure charging an admission fee would do anything more than piss off the veteran players who now, despite however many hundreds of dollars they have paid riot, would have to give them 10$ to aquire a game license.

Their efforts would be better spent on identifying smurfs, so they only end up against other possibly more skilled smurfs lol, and I believe I read something about how they basically already do this, but after level 30 once they hit ranked play, I doubt it is as effective

We could also move the goal post, instead of level 30 and 16 champs, make it level 30 and 20 champs, that means they need to either pay money for more, or simply play another 100 games lol

<edit> Which honestly makes sense, since we both get 5 bans, and 5 champs, thats 20 champions total, I mean the odds all 16 of yours are picked or banned is slim to nil, but its a decent justification

I mean... you are "Dominating" dudes who are still clicking their skills with the mouse before using them, ARAM is for relaxing, I feel sort of gross suggesting sanctions against smurf accounts, because I mean, maybe you just want to go where nobody knows your name ya know, but at the same time, it reallly screws with the elo system

ZephyrDrake1 votes

so you want LoL's population to be reduced to nothing? why the hell would they switch from a F2P plan to a P2P plan? not only are the switching to a plan that gives them LESS money it also severely cuts on the playerbase who won't bother paying ANY amount of money just to play an old ass game. There are plenty of free MOBAs out there so most of the population is going to go to those other games. Then you are left with League with over half of it's population gone, making way less money and overall just a more terrible game due to how long matchmaking will get with so many players not playing anymore.

xelaker1 votes

yea because NOBODY would ever spend the hefty sum of ten bucks... riot would prob hit a backlash storm while they sat on mountains of cold, hard cash...

koshkyra1 votes

No because they will get less players if its a paid game and riot isnt willing to lose that money they can make off the newbies.
