I use 13 champs

I use 13 champs
I have played every champion, and in my last 50 games I have played 36 different champs. I suck with each and every one of them. Follow in my footsteps at your peril. http://img.pandawhale.com/post-45209-Lorax-you-have-been-warned-gif-1GuM.gif
Well, you can probably play a lot more than 13 champs if you go for champs that are:
I mean, sure, there are differences between Ramus/Nautilus/Sejuani, but if you master one, it's not too difficult to learn the others. But the question is: why not simply play the one you like the most? It's possible to play a lot of champs without losing too much of an edge, but why would you do it in the first place?
Personally, I play various different Tanks/Juggernaut in Top/Jungle and a selection of supports to be able to adapt to the situation (Braum/Leona/Thresh/Sona/Jana, a bit Karma and Soraka). But notice I don't play Nami and Lulu on top of Sona, because they fulfill similar roles.
So far, I own about 46 champs, and I'm buying my 47th in a couple matches. Of those, I play and enjoy all but like three of them, and do well. ^^
Let me guess what the 3 are.
Teemo Singed Xin

I know, I know. I'm the devil. q.q
i play more then 13, and in general have 10 best champions just between mid/jungle. Not sure the max before you loose the edge but i seem to do fine.
I play a lot of champions than 13, but in general, I'm only proficient at about 14-16.
This is my champion pool:
24.
These are the champions I actually used to climb in ranked:
3.
Simmilar, got 20 champs, some never even played.
Mostly only use

I own every champ except illaio because I havent been playing recently. (maybe kindred too idk)
I can use

at a moments notice effectively in any role theyre fit for.
Mage and Support being my strengths
I could use any of the other champions too but I barely play them enough to be in tune with them.
Tell me how you can own 2 Braums.
2 braums 1 mustache
I've been with League for around 2 years or so, and this made me realize I have not played every champ.

are the ones I have never played
well do you own them? if not then go nuts
You really need to play Bard, Braum, Zac and Sion sometime. They're great.
Aatrox is hilariously fun to use with guardian angel
Clearly, you're missing out. You've never played Yorick.
I only really use 2 champs when I have to.. I will play others for fun in normals but the main people I play are

lee sin ahahhahahahahah play real junglers lol
implying the champ that has basically defined the jungle meta for a while, and is one of the highest picked jg's, isn't a "real" jungler...
But he's so easy you don't have to land any skillshots or position yourself or anything you can 1v5 at level 1 and your jungle clear is only 30 seconds.
kek
Kappkappakappa
lee sin ahahhahahahahah play real junglers lol
Did you forget the kappa or..
It depends on you. Some people can't handle playing more than a couple, while others can play a shit ton of champs at a competitive level.
I have a champion pool of around 20ish champions. The champions that I play to climb with are Elise, Nidalee, Olaf, and Fiora.
Dont think theres such a thing as too many. I constantly play a ton of different champs. I have a few go to ones when i really really wanna tryhard.

Literally the only champ i haven't played is
. I can play every champ, but obviously there are core champs that i am much better with then others. It is honestly a surprisingly large amount of champions. About 30 that am consistent with.
I use a lot of champs, one of the reasons im trash-lo.
Anyway my normal go to champs are:

My Ranked Champs are:
Last season, not including all the champs I was like no! I TOTALLY CAN PLAY soraka in ranked after having only played her like 10 times.
Going to add
this year, as I don't feel comfortable with the others (30k in Nidalee and still trash)
Im Currently Learning:

I also play these guys off and on, but really have no desire to be good at them:

So I play 17 champs if i'm just playing, 10 champs if i'm trying, and 6 champs if i'm tryharding.
My Main are
. Im trying to master
And
But I also enjoy playing

As you can see, I dont really play Meta Champion Hehe. I Dont Think I should go further tho. Ill try to stick with only those champion. I Think 15 - 20 Champion is the maximum. If you go further you wont really improve you skills with specific champion or carry your team.
It really depends on the player. When I played ranked constantly and got into a better division, I had about 15 champs I played routinely. 3 top, 3 junglers, 2 mids, 4 marksman, and 3 supports. I main top and jungle, and I had my reserves for other lanes.
I've stopped playing ranked when I hit gold in June. Since then, I've lost a big step and play almost 55 different champions since, without much consistency.
I own every champ, just for reference.
It sounds pathetic, but I mostly use just Vladimir, Zed, on rare occasion Yasuo, a bit of Yi, Diana, Aatrox, and sometimes Varus.
My mastery score is 244 so you tell me >.>
If you're doing normals, no realistic limit. In ranked, you should have a minimum of two champions per role that you actually play, but no more than twenty is advisable.
Depends I play prettymuch every champ, though only one out of~10-15 if i want to tryhard, but those 10-15 change with nerfs, buffs metachanges and so on and reflect the champs that i feel are easiest to win with at the moment.
If you plan to play highly competetive and get as good as you can, i think ~10 active and alot that you can play decently so you don't need to long to master them once they are high in the meta.
My Champion Pool:

I only play mid, adc, and supp (literally only once this season i have had to play top and i did terrible) But LeBlanc and Braum pretty much carried me out of silver
I first chose several champs I liked, then I cut the number down to the amount i could use, then slowly started adding more champs I liked and could use.
Now I'm at 23 mains
3 Supp

4 ADC

7 Mid

4 Jungle

5 Top

Out of the 23 only 4 of them I may flex into a different position
Top
Mid
Supp
My champion pool:
Top:
jg:
mid:
adc:
supp:

These are the champions I generally use

So 30 champions is usually my champion pool, though I think the only champions that I play enough to be really competitive with would be

it's not so much about how many you play at once but sticking with one long enough to get a good feel for it before you move on. I'm not saying you'll maintain a master level in your absence, but when you come back to it, it'll be like riding a bike. I'd say depending on how good you are if you get to mastery level 3-4 in a sustained period of time you should be decent with them if you drop them and come back later.
