Riot has plans to get rid of the support role and replace it with something better

Okay they don't, but I think they should

So how about you have 3 solo lanes, 1 jungler...and one Controller.

The controller can take a summoner spell that is required for certain control items. These items can allow the controller to do things like:

Increase a turrets defense, or repair a turret or temporarily enhance its damage.

The controller can also, from time to time, increase a wave by 1 or 2 minions at the cost of 1 or 2 minions from another lane next wave.

Controller can place 2 control wards instead of 1, and other wards last 1 minute longer.

Controller can scrap a turret for parts based on how much health the turret has, and use parts to enhance other turrets or reinforce structures.

I think something along these lines (don't fucking knit pick the specific ideas i laid out, they are just examples) would get rid of the angst of support and allow all 5 players to have a solo role, but yet would increase the depth of strategy and complexity.

Aside from your gameplay idea which I don't agree with but that can actually be debated; clickbaits are not appreciated.

Ah yes, then we have 20+ champions that are worthless.

And before you say "well the support champions can be controllers" what would be the point then?

Not really. Support champions, or any champion could fill it. It would work best with champions that turn into a support later in the game for team fights.

There is nothing wrong with the support role. Support is as a significant a role as a jungler. Games are won and lost by the actions of a support. Your controller role sounds useless and boring. There exists wave management items such as zzrot and banner of command for those who want to go that route.

Yeah there is nothing wrong with it, despite the fact that we have to be forced to play it with autofill because most people DONT LIKE IT. Playing a game is supposed to be FUN, something you WANT to do, not forced to do.

Also the fact that you think it sounds boring shows what little imagination you have. They arent stting at a fucking desk. They are moving around them map, often engaging with ganks or helping a laner. So much hate from small minded people. It no wonder this world sucks so bad.

Gonna agree with Jay. You want support to change from fighting in botlane with an adc while warding, shotcalling, and providing peel/engane/heals/shields to Some weird turret mechanic who runs around swapping minions from wave to wave who also occasionally ganks? As a fill main, I think this idea is just flat out stupid...

Supports do actually have quite a bit of strategy and complexity. Because there is not a PURE (Soraka doesn't count) healing support, supports help out with some shields, some heals, and some CC. Supports have some of the more unique kits in the game because they aren't based on dealing damage. Case is point Sona or Janna
