Since season 2, Orianna dominated worlds.

With her superior damage/CC/utility.

I really wonder how she avoided significant nerfs for 3 seasons straight.

She needs some serious nerfs.

You need to rethink your definition of dominate. Being a consistent pick is far from dominating, especially since S3 Worlds saw Zed dominate mid lane as the only champ that was 100% ban/pick rate because of how broken he was.

Orianna continues to see play but she doesn't dominate any stage she is on. She is used as a safe mid laner who can contain certain roamers if that is what her team wants. She doesn't invalidate other champs but instead she allows the meta to shift around her in a healthy way. She is the definition of a balanced and fair champion.

Except she does. There is no reason to pick Brand , Malzahar , Annie or even Anivia over her. She outclass so many other immobile mages.

Well, learn to play any of the mages you pictured and you´ll never compare them with Ori again.

TIL: Brand's, Malzahar's, Annie's, and Anivia's most impactful skills have a cast time that is easily dashed/Flashed/lanterned/Zhonya's-ed/et cetera, just like Orianna's ultimate.

Oh wait.

TIL: Brand's damage goes through minions and has good range, Malzahar's ultimate can't be interrupted, Annie isn't insanely reliant on Flash to be useful and Anivia gets to do tons of AoE damage at a long range while still having her utility.

Oh wait.

Lol is this a joke

There's almost no reason to pick any immobile mage competitively when you can pick Orianna

This has been the case since Season 2 Worlds

Except Syndra and Xerith who have both seen pro play.

Also you are mistaken as to who pushed other mages out of mid lane, it wasn't Orianna, in fact a number of mages have been viable at various times even in her heyday. The champs who pushed out immobile mages are the likes of Ahri/Zed/Yasuo/Kassadin(pre-changes), and compounded by idioticly mobile junglers like Lee/Kha/Rengar. Don't blame Orianna for being able to survive league of mobility just because other mages can't.

dominated? that´s quite the statement regarding this worlds. She´s pretty balanced - yea, her best case is really really impactfull....but she has some major weaknesses aswell that can be easily exploited.

Major weaknesses? The same weaknesses other immobile mages have, but since her kit is overloaded to the bone she's still better than them.

Yea, every other mage has to order a real slow ball around and is incredible reliant on his Ultimate in Teamfights.

Her kit is overloaded? She's a utility mage. Orianna is designed to be pretty strong and useful through all stages of the game and be able to support her teammates. If she gets caught out she's dead. If she misses her Shockwave, she's lost a large portion of her usefulness in teamfights, if she misses and attack with her ball her opponents can punish her for it.

Orianna has amazing utility and amazing team-fighting capability, but that doesn't mean she's overpowered. Orianna has seen use for so long because the areas where she excels are always relevant in the meta.

Okay good, and how does this change that her kit is overloaded and that she does too many things?

Orianna is the Lee Sin of mid lane.

Earl Eulrich1 votes

oh yea, she´s constantly abusing her insane mobility to make plays. screw that clockwork-ninja!

Lee Sin has an overloaded Kit Orianna has an overloaded Kit.

I dont know why i bother, it's obvious you guys either can't see it or simply troll.

With everything she has, they should really reduce the amount of damage she deals so champions like Ahri and Annie could have a realistic place in the league.

orianna requires a competent team to do well, why don't you go carry yourself to soloq challenger with orianna if she's so op?
