Possible solution to CotC

Instead of it giving you a shield based on how many enemies are around, make it so the shield is based on how many people you CC.

That way we get rid of abuse cases where a champion like Poppy can press E in the middle of a fight for a 25% Max HP shield or Naut literally just autoing someone once for the same effect.

I was thinking a 3-stack system. With 5 enemies around, you get 8% Max HP for CCing one champion, 16% for CCing two, and the full 25% for 3 champions.

There also could be a window to CC champions so you dont have to CC 3 people at once. Lets use Naut for an example. You hook someone with Naut for the first 8%. You then have 3 seconds to CC another champ for the 2nd 8% (16% total). So you auto another champ for the second stack. You then have a last 3 second window to CC someone else to receive the final stack for the 25% total. Drop your ult for that 3rd stack. Not sure if it CCing the same champ 3 times should count or if it has to be different enemies.

This does not mean you can only get 1 stack at a time period. If you CC 3 people at once, you still get the max 25% shield.

CotC would still scale with how many enemies are around you though.

I honestly think this would get rid of a lot of abuse cases and make it so CotC is a more interactive keystone instead of a braindead easy massive shield.

Obviously this is just an idea, so the exact number and time frames could be adjusted of course.

This just makes AoE CC OP Amumu and single target CC worthless Rammus

Rammus has 2 CC's though. His Q and E.

And it doesnt make AoE CC any stronger than it already is. All they have to do is hit one person with it for the full shield as it currently is

His CC is single target 90% of the time. He hits a person with his Q and taunts them.

Thats still 2 separate CC's so it could count for 2 stacks

Ah, true true. Forgot that.

Actually, I reread the OP and saw the stacking system.

I still don't think is a good idea, but for different reasons.

Your change solves none of the issues and only alienates even more champions from it.

As opposed to what it is now? A handful of champs absolutely abuse the thing with point and click abilities. At least they'll have to work for it

You act like nerfing it until its unusable on all but 3 champions is going to solve all of the issues with the game.

I'd rather have these tanky monstrosities in the game than not if damage is going to stay as high as it is.

Why? CotC will continue to be a problem so Riot will nerf either the Keystone or the Champs that abuse it. Then when it ends up getting changed anyway, those champs will end up in the gutter. A 25% Max HP shield for using a single point and click ability is just ridiculous

You're implying all of the Ferocity Keystones aren't MASSIVE issues as well.

You're implying TLD isn't a MASSIVE issue too.

CoC fits right in. Its just as broken as they are, and until that changes, CoC doesn't need any wide-scope changes. The only thing the nerfs to it speak of is Riot's balance incompetence.

Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who hates the meta that's started because of CoC.

They also dont revolve around using a single point and click ability. Well maybe DFT does, but the two big ones actually involve prolonged combat. As long as CotC requires zero effort to press one single point and click ability to activate, its going to be a problem. Or it'll be nerfed into the ground. Your choice.

Pretty much this. TLD, Fervor, and Warlords are vastly more interactive. As long as CotC remains as braindead as it is on certain champs, it'll keep getting nerfed.
