can ranked games not share dodge timers with normals and cause increased lp loss and timeouts?

accidentally joined a normal and dodged it because im still not entirely used to the new client.

then joined a ranked game into a shitshow of champion select and had to dodge it aswell.

the thing is, that punishment for normal dodges is understandable. but ranked dodges often occur because theyre strategic. i really dont want to lose 20 lp because i get into a game with an auto filled jungle akali who forgot smite. (or trolled to force a dodge)

this topic could be controversal, as too many dodges in ranked ques increase que times. but on the other hand id argue, that knowing when to trade 3 lp for a game with a terribly disadvantageous teamcomp for a 20 lp loss could be regarded as an expression of player skill and game knowledge.

it makes sense for normal games to be on a shared timer, but when it comes to ranked games, dodges can be important to overall being able to climb the ladder.

would be nice if we wouldnt receive increased lp punishment in ranked games in these situations. at the same time we should be able to hop over into a normal to pass time, when we felt forced to doge a ranked game.

this is by the way the same reason we should be getting 1 free dodge per day in promos aswell. we shouldnt be forced to play these more important games with teammates or teamcomps that we outright feel like were entirely unable to win a game with.

actually thinking about it, dodges in ranked games shouldnt cause timeouts at all. the increasing lp loss is enough of an incentive to not dodge too many games in a row.

dont the additional timers only accomplish increased que times in the end as less players are available for games?

Quiter

you have a full ad comp against a Malphite and a Rammus

should you play this game or not? probably not. you might win by a miracle, but your chances are terrible.

lets say the next game is far more open and you win.

you now advanced 17 or 10 lp over 2 games instead of 0 lp because you played them both.

sometimes its smart to quit on a game before it begins. knowing when to quit and when to play can make the difference of being stuck or advancing in the long run.

means you were incredibly lucky. how are the chances for that actually happening?
