I think that part of getting really good at this game is just not giving a fuck.

From what I can gather from all the high elo streamers that I watch, it seems to not only be pure game knowledge and mechanics but somewhat of an IDGAF mentality they all have in common. They just don't seem to care about anything, if someone fucks up their team comb real bad they just shrug it off, if they feed super hard they laugh it off, if they have raging teammates they just completely ignore it or make fun about them ( though they don't do it in chat all that often ). Imaqtpie is the master of this hidden technique, just watch his stream and you'll get what I mean by that.

Compare that to me who is the sweatiest tryhard while playing ranked and concentrating extremely hard or where 1 loss alone will prevent me from playing any more games for an hour because of the tilt. Maybe not trying all that much to win is the key to be winning more games in the first place.

Why people care about teamcomp in a team that doesn't even know how to play the game properly, has always dazzled me in the first place

'cause it kinda sucks when you're the only one doing well, so you need to carry, but then your team is 4 squishies. They refuse to just avoid teamfighting vs a beefier more fed team and we lose. :/

All i ask is to not have a shaco/yasuo on my team and then i will not care about what people pick on my team.

It's not really "not trying to win". Of course imaqtpie and others like him are trying to win.

It's just that winning is not the only thing they enjoy in the game, they are able to find other aspects enjoyable as well and are able to focus on those when winning is not possible. It's a more versatile view

That's a life skill in general imo.

Having a short memory when it comes to small negative things is a skill that's useful everywhere. No reason to stew over that bad fight, just focus on the next. Once you master that you honestly have a lot more fun and play better.

You get toxic high Elo players but for most streamers they have to be somewhat professional or they end up being up on YouTube for being a crybaby lol.

Anyway yeah having a not a care in the world attitude is good, I started last season at bronze 3 had stress from toxic players (that's euw for you though)then I got bored and tried stuff like urgot cause I thought it would be funny to try and reach silver with that I ended up climbing to bronze 1 doing that lol.

Then I started I playing a mixture of my serious champs and dumb stuff like teemo, until I peaked at gold 2/ gold 1 promos.

Sounds weird but I would recommend trying champs like teemo in ranked they boost your confidence a lot. Now I don't care much about losing because there is always the next game to do better.

Then you got certain high diamond streamers like Trick2g LOL

Honestly, I think you're right. I've even noticed that I win more games if I choose to have fun despite all that goes wrong than if I allow myself to tilt.

A positive attitude improves a person's ability to learn and also their ability to observe and rationalize. That said you are more likely to notice the enemy making mistakes or being out of position if you aren't focusing on everything you or your team has done wrong. You're also a lot more likely to understand that you held on to your flash too long or not long enough if you stay positive as well. :D

I don't think it's "not trying all that much", but rather more "cool, I can't change xyz, let's focus on something else". It is good if you tryhard (whatever that really means), but you just need to realize some things.

For instance, if you have a feeding teammate, no amount of your rage/flame/focus will change that. If you see a feeder, you need to see other ways of winning.. Maybe find a feeder in their team and exploit his presence when possible. Maybe see a hole in their defense of the botlane, go there and push the hell out of it.

If you focus on the bad stuff, you tend to miss on the good things. That's not exclusive to LoL, it's a kinda universal truth to anything you do. If you focus on some douche colleague in your work instead of improving yourself, you won't get promoted either ;)

Also, some games are just impossible to win. We need to accept that and try to use the time for something else, maybe instead of complaining on trying some new item for our build. Or focus on the teamfighting and make sure your positioning is spot on. There's always something to do. You can improve even when losing. At the very least you can observe the enemy team and figure out why are they winning, which builds did they go for etc.

I have to agree it's not the IDGAF it's the fact that they are just cool and collected and they are changing the part of the game they can control and letting the rest go. Honestly that is what i have done this year as well and i am climbing. I have truly quit caring about my team and i am only going after what i can do and control.

they are streamers...they HAVE to keep an eye on their actions or they end up like tyler banned everywhere lmfao.ALso why would he give a flying fuck about the game itself? he gets PAID to stream it. Lcs players? why would they give a fuck about soloque the money comes from lcs and the stream itself. ofc they wont mind cancer teams they still get paid even when they lose. what do WE get when we get fucked over in matchmaking? oh yes a L.

Getting mad at your teammates doesn't do anything to help them,** or you**, play any better.

It is far more likely to cause them, or you, to play worse than to improve things.

Not caring about the attitude of others is always right. Someone flames? Don't care about them. Care about yourself, what you did wrong and improve. It is YOU who is playing soloQ (or Flex). You are not playing for someone else, and noone else is playing for you.

A good skill in LoL is the ability to not get mad. Yes, that is possible. You CAN not get mad at LoL.

Anyone who has read the book, "The Inner Game of Tennis", which discusses the mental aspects of competitive performance, would be completely unsurprised by this phenomenon.
