My teammates often don't care about objectives

Linda de Mol··3 votes·4,582 views

I'm always the person that begs the team to focus objectives, sometimes we get a really good situation where 3 enemies are dead for example, 1 enemy is at toplane and infernal drake is up.

But I can't seem to get my team convinced to get the drake, some say 'its not important get turret / kill instead'

As a Support velkoz main, i cannot solo dragons/baron or anything. I try to steal when the enemy is getting it, but it's often dangerous since I barely get help from my team. It does work sometimes though with my ult.

I feel like I could win a lot more games if I could convince my jungler/other teammates to focus objectives more. Often when I keep asking my jungler and he shows 0 interest in objectives and all he says "shutup/muted" How can I make my team more focused on this?

Unfortunately, bronze is filled with many stubborn players. You'll find that once you approach Gold elo, the players become a lot more responsive to leadership.

It's going to be a real struggle to get out of bronze as a support main. :( I would recommend switching to mid lane Vel'Koz for a while. He's really powerful in mid, especially if you're already comfortable on him.

Otherwise, if you wanna keep trying what you're doing, maybe try typing a bit. It can sometimes be more effective than pings.

"Next drake is fire, we need this one. Jungle please come in 2 mins."

I dunno XD Maybe you're already trying that lol

Agreed, even as JG the closer I got to gold the easier it got to win to the point that my final push to gold I was up to like 70%+ win rate.

The struggle as you get lower is learning how your allies react, and dropping a lot of easy kills etc. because you know your ally wont react and your easy kill will be YOU dying. As you get higher you can start picking up those kills because your allies start seeing them, at least from a JG perspective.

Also as you get higher the more your team will follow open objectives you ping/ask for.

I was told don't play JG til higher rating, and I can see why, but tbh I think there's a struggle from any position except mid. Mid has the power AND the potential presence across the map.

Ahri has one of the highest "one trick" win rates (players that only play 1 champ) maybe pick her up mid, good utility, good damage, good mobility. Her ult can get you out of bad situations, or into good ones. It's a great tool to be on top of enemies outside your lane fast.

Gold, was one of my favourite elos. Getting out of Silver was tough and suddenly I stayed in Gold for like 2 weeks and then moved on. Gold elo has actually good players unlike the hellhole called Platinum. At Gold, if a player sees your score and it is good, he will hear you. At Platinum, if a 1/10 ADC see's your 10/0 score, he will still think he is the carry and the playmaker and long story short, such players made me get stuck at platinum 4 at which point I said fuck it!

I mean it really just boils down to going with the flow. If the whole team is going for a tower over dragon and you can't convince them otherwise then its better to go with them than standing at dragon doing nothing.

Try to keep the calls short and simple like "3 dead 1 top Infernal up" as repetitive pings and chat tend to get people really annoyed and not listen

going with the flow is not a good idea in low elo if ur team picked the wrong fight u should back not join the team suicide least u can do is stall for ur base and not give an ace which is a big chance to end the game for enemy

k then go stand by dragon doing nothing then lol

u actually think its better to do an objective or die trying?

He said he cant solo it so what objective if nobody comes?

tbh i have no idea i just play passive and avoid objectives that will potentially throw the game

ur advice is not bad i think in theory even a diamond player said the same thing to me but in the reality of my trash elo games "going with the flow of team" got us aced straight into a loss too many times than i could have counted

It’s a tough gig. I play top lane so it’s a little easier to gather the troops for objectives.

With that being said, the two things I’ve found that works with objective grabs as a support is ward up the area before objective spawns and just ping it. The less you type in chat the less annoyed people get and more likely to respond. Especially if people are chasing kills. If the entrances are lit up and the dragon pit and your team can see the enemy they are more likely to go and fight. It’s sad that you have to manipulate people but definitely opening up the opportunity prior to helps guide your team.

Again people will do what they want and as a damage support like vel koz, team fight and vision is super important.

Pinging is more useful than typing in my experience.

If you ping 3~4 times and actually start hitting the drag/baron yourself, teammates will usually follow. Especially if they feel like you “know what you’re doing” (e.g. It’s harder to shotcall in lower elos when you are 2/13/4 as opposed to 2/0/14 as Support)[sona-playing]

I agree with this response the most.

you see dragon is coming up ping the timer (atleast 2 times since just one will go unnoticed in lower elo) make sure you get their attention. In many situations you can type quiickly "bot dead jg top, drag is free"

you NEED to spoon feed your team the calls they are down there for a reason, they dont know better.

also i solo 100% of the time BUT if your struggling to climb it might help to just add a competent jg, find one that either knows the calls as well, or will follow up and help. jg sup will make a strong duo,
