Remember the G&B boards before RiotRepertoir?
It feels like that again except more Mordekaiser posts and less Reds.

I do apologize for my disappearance from the forums lately. We've been making a pretty hard push on getting all the pieces aligned for preseason, which I've personally had a pretty large hand in many of the champion changes for, and that's been keeping me pretty busy. One thing that's somewhat unfortunate is that I enjoy sharing details on which champions I'm working on and what kinds of changes we're thinking of making, but at the same time, we don't want to disclose full details until around PBE time, so it leaves me in this situation where I can talk about what I'm working on but not really get into specifics. I think players would probably find that frustrating, like I'm talking to them but not really saying anything.
That said, I am really excited for what the preseason changes hold, and I expect to be a much more vocal presence here once we've revealed/released those changes, since I'm sure there will be plenty of feedback to be had at that point.
That makes complete sense. At least we know you're still here. Thanks for showing yourself, no Rioter should really have to be afraid of their own boards. Not even CertainlyT.
Very excited for pre-season, and hope the meta actually feels more diverse this time.
Should being the operative word. As it stands, there are plenty of reasons to avoid the boards.
All the more reason to praise Repertoir for braving our wrath, I suppose.
I don't know if you've noticed, but Repertoir gets almost nothing but praise in these boards.
Maybe it's because he actively engages with us and gives us an explanation for his design choices while trying to meet us halfway.

Yeah, people (rightfully) treat Repertoir really well. He's a great guy.
I never meant to imply the contrary.
What I meant was... RiotRepetoir is like, the only Rioter who the boards will consistently talk civilly to. Him and maybe IronStylus, but he's pretty rare these days. They're pretty charismatic people. But dapcutscene says that "no Rioter should really have to be afraid of their own boards. Not even CertainlyT." Every time CertainlyT comes here his posts are mass-downvoted and shit on, no matter the context.
While I agree that no Rioter SHOULD be afraid of the boards... I honestly wouldn't blame them for staying away. Devs are people too, yknow? They have emotions. Yeah, they fuck up sometimes, but nobody deserves to be subjected to some of the shit we say.
I dno. I've just always had an aversion to Riot-bashing. Like, yeah I get it, you're frustrated. But you know, they made this game out of nothing, they made it free, and you're playing it. If you're upset, don't take it out on other humans, just leave. That's my two-cents
I think people are a lot less mean than their posts let on, most are able to be perfectly civil once rioters show up.
Thing is, just ignoring it and hoping it goes away just worsens public opinion.
Are the preseasons changes going to be entirely marksman related, or are there gonna be some other system changes as well?
My personal contributions will be mostly marksman-related since I'm working on the Champion Update team, but there is other stuff too that others will be more qualified to talk about.
How many PBE cycles are left till the preseason stuff hits? I guess 5.21 (10/28) and 5.22 (11/11) will be completed, as the old season goes till the 11th of November...
Can't really comment on exact dates at the moment. Still need to nail stuff down and make sure it's ready before that.
Are you guys working in tandem with the Systems team (who I assume is working on the itemization changes)?
Yes. Systems, Live Gameplay, Champion, and Champion Update are all contributing resources toward the preseason.
Champion team is contributing to the preseason? Another champion so soon?
could you plase make sure the marksmen are not able to 3 shot Sona after rework?
Leak the Quinn details pls
do you remember about this discussion ? changes in s6 or preseason ?
Can you please inform us of anything to do with the whole Morde/Sona/Cass identity crisis going on?
We are reaching out to you guys are we only make threads like these because we are passionate about the champions that we can't help but feel got completely shafted by their reworks, please, we beg you guys :<
That might be a question to ask in preseason. He's not allowed to leak any information about preseason right now. So for all we know they could be fixing these champions, and if they don't you might as well ask them then.
However, I am as passionate as you are for these champions and would really like to be able to see them with their identities again.
We are aware that many players are concerned about this. Scruffy or Meddler would probably be better in answering questions along these lines. I'll see if I can get them to comment about it.
Also, when are you guys going to address the Elephant in the room?
Y'now.
Mordekaiser
Because I don't know if you guys have noticed, but his rework has received more vehement hatred than when you guys tried to rework Lee Sin.
Thank you very much on the comment, I don't think you guys even know how much clarity this brings
I'll keep it optimistic in the meantime
Ok, I need Repertoir/Jesus memes.
"Concerned"?
Understatement of the century, Repertoir.
I've yet to see any of your collegues post in a Cassthread, through.
since I'm sure there will be plenty of feedback to be had at that point.
savign yourself for all the complainings thata re gonna be, huh? Don' t misunderstand me, i just know that they will happen aniway :P
this said, have good work!
If a company doesn't have complaints there is something wrong.
Are your collegues even aware of the extreme issues which
is having?

How goes the Quinn rework? shiny anime eyes of hope
I'm nervous and excited for its release.
After morde? Im only nervous........
That abomination was by CerT, Rep did Garen and Skarner, and numbers can balance them unlike morde.
I'm looking forward to what he has in store for Quinn.
Don't forget Repertoir also did Ashe, which was fantastic.
As you appear to be the person to talk to about the marksmen, (if you can/are allowed to talk about this) which ones are getting major changes to their kits? I mean, more than just number changes. The class is too wide for everyone to get reworks, so there have to be some singled out (I think I've heard stuff about Cait, but I don't think we've heard anything else).
Not all marksmen are receiving full scale reworks, but I think it's pretty safe to say that they will all feel the effects of the preseason changes in this season pretty substantially.

Is
part of the marskmen list? I know he is not played bot lane and quite messed up role wise but he's kinda one of them too.
well, to be fair, atleast meddler shows up every now and then, but it's still a tad sad how much the red activitys went down again, i realy hoped they keep it up. Though i still want to thank them for atleast that period in which we had a lot red activity, was quite nice.
That time period was amazing. Honestly, if they just told us what they're going to do with Mordekaiser I'm sure about 50% of the threads would be decreased.
I don't get he circle jerk for RiotRepertoir. All he ever did was come into thread as say "I don't know how we would fix that whats your opinion" and then leave with nothing ever being done. It just seemed like he posted so people would shut up about no reds on the boards, but if I wrong please show me all the balance changes made to the game that came form his appearance on these boards.
the thing that he did is providing information, giving some insight on riots wherabouts, it's a huge difference betweem guessing what their plans for morde are and knowing that they aren't sure them selfs for example.
Literally the only thing about balance I've ever seen him answer confidently is about Garen, which if I'm not mistaken was his personal project in the juggernaut change. Any other thing about balance from sona to cass to quinn, just some examples, and he never "provides informantion" he just post so it looks like the thread got red attention when in reality nothing is ever learned or done.
As for your example about morde, "guessing what their plans for morde are and knowing that they aren't sure them selfs" still results in no useful information. Him saying I don't know what were gonna do doesn't prepare me for the changes or allow me to get a new game plan before the changes arrive.
Let's be honest here, showing up is still better than not showing up at all. He might have not always had something useful to say, but he was there.
You're right Repertoir could almost never solve our problems and always asked us, but I think that's what mattered the most. A Rioter who was involved with the community and always asked our opinions and then gave his own.
That's the point of thread in general, to give your opinion and discuss it with others. We already have plenty of that going on with normal posters, with reds you expect answers not a reply that anyone could make. When that happens its just as valuable as a normal poster so you might as well not consider it anything special.
Except when a normal poster comes up with a good idea and the Red likes it. They can get it changed.
It's the difference between a normal poster saying we need to change Mordekaiser and a Red saying we need to change Mordekaiser.
As I stated earlier show me where this has happened with RiotRepertoir, other than Garen I can't think of a single time I've seen a discussion with him actual lead to any real balance changes to a champion.
In case you haven't noticed the boards have been filled for weeks with "we need to change morde" post, hasn't resulted in anything yet. And even if a red acknowledges one it still doesn't mean it will result in a change, more doubtful that it be one that people are asking for. Unless a red comes into a thread and says we like these changes and are going to implement them or actually provides information about the changes they are considering, there is no point about making a big deal out of a red response if it is no more useful than any other speculation post.
I think it's a matter of actually knowing for sure what is going on on Riot's side of things. It's great to have so many normal posters share their thoughts, but at the end of the day, only the reds have the power to actually change anything.
be a riot employee open g&b see same thread reposted 50 times that's the front page close g&b
Be a GOOD Riot employee Open G&B See same thread reposted 50 times assume there is a problem talk about it within the threads discuss with balance team come to a compromise with balance team and community problem solved?
