People in normals now care only about S rating not real teamwork.

Now I see all the time how support leaving me, because he shouldn't die - he needs his S. Junglers are only care about their farm and kses - risky moves aren't for them. They don't care about how bad your lane is - because if they'll lose game, they will get S anyway! This really sucks.

It is a little amusing that cheesing this is a good counter-example to all the people in the past that have tried to claim ELO should be influenced by performance instead of winning.

Farming junglers and Supports that don't die are going about very poor ways to get their S. The system is a bit more complex than that, otherwise KDA + cs would accurately predict people's grades.

dEAdbUs2 votes

Fact that people don't know exacly how to raise grade, doesn't mean that people won't try to get it by KDA + cs farming.

WarlockLaw2 votes

I would have figured that by now people would have realized that there is a lot more than KDA + cs. Riot might not have stated what goes into it, but it seems obvious to me that they measure several things.

Since they said that the S grade are the top X% of players, wouldn't risky plays yield better results for grades so long as they are successful. Though I guess if people still think KDA + cs are the strongest indicator they wouldn't realize this either.

This is why the Honor system needs a rework too. Nobody rewards anyone anymore teamwork, behavior, or just being helpful.

RIP badges, they're so rare nowadays.

even if you get one it doesn't stay long, nobody continues to honor anymore. If they fixed the system maybe people would care more about being nice lol

My S-rank games almost always involve me dying at least twice. Learn from that :^)

On all seriousness KDA is actually a terrible indicator of support grading, and that it is not "weighed" as heavily as compared to other roles. If even, it's more on warding and assist participation.

Often, anything below a 50% kill/assist participation will at most get you an A-.

Grashnim1 votes

Well, of course, the system rewards you for rating.

Kitten of Evil1 votes

They must not know how it works. Kill participation and objectives are two components in an S score.

I've gotten a lot of people accusing me of S farming, but I was always a try not to dIe person. If you spend 8 minutes dead that's a crap load of time you could have been doing something.

I mainly play bot lane roles as a sup main that can pick up the ADC role when needed and I am EXTREMELY risk-averse in my plays. I've yet to be accused of S farming but I also haven't played a normal in about 2 weeks so maybe its just now becoming a thing.

That's discouraging to me because the last thing I need is people being given more reasons to flame the slow and steady play-style because they'd rather all-in over and over until we surrender at 20 because they're 60cs and 8 kills behind.

The problem is a lot of people don't understand the math behind getting S ranks in general, more so they don't care about the math behind it and expect it to be handed to them for not "feeding".

I get a lot of S's on support Nasus even when I don't do well. I think damage to enemy champions probably plays a **big **part in your rating (support ap Nasus gets insane damage dealt to enemy champions).

Aazzlano2 votes

You are graded by how well you do compared to other players playing the champion in that role.

I'd imagine it's not difficult to do better than the average Nasus support lol. You could probably get an S on a Sona Jungle even if you did horribly, but still better than the average.

Wheatloaf1 votes

Spoiler Alert

You don't get an S by ignoring your team. Unless every single other person who plays that champion does the same thing.

Earthlord Jazz1 votes

It has happened to me in normals, but it is quite rare

Well, a lot of the people you have played with have had previous behavioral restrictions, therefore, the S rank doesn't even matter as they are ineligible to earn rewards for the new hextech crafting system. So, there's kind of a balance between people who do exactly what you said to farm S ranks, and people like me who are unable to earn rewards for a chat restriction.

Kses, don't give you S, the amount of damage you do is the huge factor. This is from personal experience, I went 12-2 jinx, got an A. Went 8-5 jinx got an S. Cs was about the same, but in the 8-5, I dealt a lot more damage to champions and turrets, while the 12-2 is mostly me last hitting the enemy champion.

. . . because he shouldn't die . . . risky moves aren't for them . . .

This isn't entirely a bad thing.

Personally. I admit I'm trying to farm the chests. But I'm not that concerned about getting or not getting an S. However. For the love of sanity, stop giving men an A+ Every. F'ing. GAME. I can only eat the middle finger so many times. Just give me a B for Teemo's sake.

It's really hard to say how S ranks are given out. Yesterday I got an S with a 10/4/7 support Sion, 57 cs and 10k gold. I also got an S+ with Illaoi Support, even though I probably deserved that. 7/6/21, but still only 43 gold and 13k. Seems more like an S- at the most.

Xosra1 votes

I know for a fact kda does not give S or is not the only factor. I have had perfect games as an ADC with 8 kills no deaths and still only got an A.

So you are annoyed because people no longer kamikaze into the fire, i.e. they now play with brain. [slayer-jinx-catface]

dEAdbUs2 votes

If jungler who never gank/do drakes/barons/don't give buffs/don't protect base because he's chasing enemy for kill/have farm better than lanes because of stealing cs from every lane is what you call "playing with brain" then you're right.

Llanite1 votes

People have different risk tolerance level. You're liking risky play does not mean I have to follow suits.

If you have problem with people having different playstyle, go create your own premade that you can screen teammate beforehand.

Fury and Emperor1 votes

People wanted a rating system that reflected individual performance regardless of wins and losses.

Here it is. Enjoy.

I've noticed it's really hard to get an S with jungler, probably because it takes CS into account.

I've seen Junglers who go like 10-2-19 and get an A while in the same game the support might go a mediocre score like 2-6-20 and get an S.

10/0/5 with Nautilus jungling. Look up my match history, and I only got an A-. Had a double kill too lol. Oh well, what can ya do.

I also hate how if a support dies, they get under leved. Then they likely get a lower rank for that under leveling because that under leveling leads to lower skill ranks, less defense (unless item buying), and the inability to hold their own.

Miku Lv991 votes

Almost everyone played like that in normals before those ratings existed. I don't think they're even playing differently.
