Increasing support skill disparity

Anyone who claims that the support role is worthless and requires no skill is a fucking moron and a liar.

I have gotten to the point where I cannot trust the role to anyone, since anyone who takes the role will go 0/10 before we're even five minutes in, or throw the ultimate shit fit over having to be the water carrier for an entire team, and more than too many players are simply overwhelmed at the workload that the support has, to the point that recalling is the most absolutely divine of luxuries, because every last possible responsibility that isn't get all pentakills forever has being shirked by every other role.

And to top all that off, the supports are being increasingly relied upon to provide powerful buffs even to champions that don't really benefit from them, or expect one support to provide the buffs equal or greater than every other support combined. Combine with that the fact that this support dependency, coming from the same people who think supports are worthless, means everyone is getting increasingly complacent about the game, to the point where no one wants to do even the most basic things because they think they're destined for a clutch victory, and make increasingly bad decisions and catastrophic moves, to the point that by the time we're even at the ten minute mark, the entire enemy team has pushed all eleven turrets, three inhibitors, AND they have two dragon buffs and a Herald, and no one on our side has even built a single item yet.

The game has become artificially imbalanced by a playerbase that has overfocused on exclusively one singular element among the countless others.

I mean that's where all these Lulu and support item buffs came from, after all.

People complain that supports "aren't impactful enough" so Riot had to make it super obvious by overbuffing items. When they have been the ones deciding the lane outcomes and even the ones shotcalling in soloQ long before any of the buffs happened.

I can't wait to watch this post burst up in flames, too!

Coping with people either raging that you don't do anything, or getting angry that you are doing things, is just the worst.

I had a Draven a few days back that was significantly angry that I had gotten the first two kills with Zyra, and spent the rest of the game on tilt. Apparently he wanted me to sit back and root the enemy, but I decided the better plan was to max Q first and kill the lane.

It wasn't an especially tricky choice to make either. I just noted "huh, they're not avoiding my skillshots. And they're ignoring the plants. Let's just murder them."

Oh well.
