The reason why the Rek'Sai nerfs make no sense

Riot has stated that they want Rek'Sai players building AD and not going full tank. The reason why this makes no sense however, is that by nerfing the base damages on her Q and buffing the scaling, you are just pushing rek'sai players more towards the cinderhulk for early wave clear on jungle camps.

I've been playing on PBE and her raptors and krugs clears feel chunkier and slow... couple this with the fact that the cinderhulk build just got buffed, so why is Riot contradicting itself and pushing Rek'Sai players more towards the cinderhulk?

Because you're overthinking.

They've screwed with Rek for a while now. When she came out I loved jungling with her but look what they did to her - her fury heals for far less, her E damage is less, her Q does physical damage in burrowed and unburrowed form instead of physical or magic and her ult needs a buff early on.

The real problem is Riot wants people to build one specific way and that's not really how this game should work. Players should be able to build champions as they wish without "punishment" in the form of nerfs if you decide "hey, this champ is better with tanky AD instead of flat AD" and so on, with the sole exception of assassins who must be pushed into building damage since that's what they do, damage and kill people quickly.

It will require only 100 AD to break even with the values now. She'll have that long before she completes her jungle item. And after that, it's straight up more damage.

Her Q only scales on bonus AD not base attack damage....

Yep, I did misread the tooltip. It is indeed a weird nerf.

If you buy Cinder you do less damage now, if you go early Tiamat, which has always been the alternative you do the same or more. It makes absolute sense.

Cause with higher bases, you have no reason to build damage. With lower bases, but higher scales you are more rewarded for actually building damage. It's quiet simple actually.
