Riot Balance team, please learn from Worlds

Worlds has proved without a doubt the following champs need nerfs.

Nidalee- 100% pick/ban rate. That right there proves she needs gutted. Let's not even consider that she had a 73% win rate. The cat needs absolutely demolished next patch.

Syndra- 97% pick/ban with 63% win rate. Damage needs almost cut in half for all the utility she has. She is very strong at all stages of the game.

Elise- Her win rate is bad, but as soon as you nerf Nid, she will have close to the same numbers.

Jhin- 64% pick/ban and 62% win rate. Everyone has known for 4 months he needs serious nerfs, Worlds just is further confirmation.

Jayce- Pretty obvious the latest nerfs made him too strong. Some nerfing is definitely needed.

Lee Sin- Numbers are already high and will really go up if Nid is nerfed.

Kennen- Slight nerfs definitely needed.

Aurelion Sol- A very hard champion to master, but definitely OP if you do.

Alistar- 65% win rate. Nuff said.

Viktor- Same.

Zyra- Same.

Ashe- 67% win rate.

Tahm Kench- 60% win rate.

There will be others once these get fixed, but this is a good start.

nidalee really doesnt need nerfs only high level players play her well

syndra maybe

the rest of them is a solid no for me its just the way the meta is atm eventually changes come through and will shift the meta

for instance perhaps when assasssin update comes through jhin will have a low winrate because Zed is too powerful when killing jhin so why nerf him if the meta no longer favors him when a new champ in the meta counters him

It doesn't matter if only high level players play her well, she is straight up broken. She needs serious rework.

Syndra definitely. The 2nd most abused OP at Worlds after Nid.

As for the others, the meta only shifts if you nerf the OP/broken champs or make a significant item change. The meta changes DUE to nerfs.

The assassin update is going to be pure cancer, calling it now. Every one of the assassins being changed (except for probably Kat) will end up with significant nerfs within two months. Riot totally missed their goals with this update by not fixing what was wrong with those assassins, they in fact made it MUCH worse.

kennen and jayce both got buffed before they saw play so its not all about nerfing what is strong, rumble wasnt even changed and he came back into the meta, gnar is still here and he got nerfed your logic doesnt make sense you cant balance the game purely off of the top .03% of games player (challengers make up less than 1% of the community) you need to take into consideration how these champions preform across all ELOs and i can tell you for sure nidalee is garbage in pretty much any thing below plat 3 and lee sin is pretty garbage in gold-plat but strong in bronze/silver and diamond (which is weird i know)

it really only matters that you arent buffing what is already strong and you arent nerfing what is already weak that is how meta shifts it isnt a must you nerf strong champs as long as you are bringing something closer to its level and it isnt a must you buff weak champs if you are bringing the strong champs closer to their level its 2 sides of the same coin and riot does this very well you dont see them further buffing any champs that are viewed as strong in the meta you only see them nerf them but they dont nerf them out of the meta or buff a champion into the meta immediately because what is fun about league is a gradually changing meta shift

its not surprising that a ton of players dont see this because it is a gradual change but it seems to come out of nowhere because no one gets the message until they see someone in the highest level of play doing it and they try to imitate it but then you have the variance in skill level that effect the actual preformance of a champ across all ranks and players

no offense but you dont actually really understand how league is designed to be played and I understand why you are concerned about the state of the game any given patch but it is all temporary and it is all for the most part done purposely. so i get why you do it im just saying that what you say doesnt actually do anything because riot is going to buff and nerf champs every patch the way i said they will and the meta shift will change again and then players will complain again and so on and so forth don't you guys ever get tired of it. it is almost like you dont see that this kind of system is why you actually keep playing the game.

Kennen has been very strong since they made his ult more reliable. It just took awhile for people to realize it. Rumble has always been strong, I have played him for a long time. He just wasn't played or considered meta because there were so many stupidly broken tops that could counter him. Gnar has been and always will be meta because he is VERY safe to blind pick. His kit allows him to counter pretty much all tops with either his poke or his tankyness. He only has small windows of vulnerability that are pretty easy to play around when you pick him if you are proficient.

There are several champs that have been OP for years as well. I have been playing for about 4 years and Ahri (for example) has NEVER not been one of the top mids in the game. I'm talking God tier. There are several champs that Riot just refuses to balance. The last "nerf" to Ahri was a complete and utter joke. It literally had zero impact on her gameplay.

I also have to laugh at you saying that Lee and Nid are garbage in low ELO. There are players who absolutely wreck with them solely due to those champs being so OP, you don't even have to be that good with them. The weaknesses of both champs are minor at best. Nid falls off a bit late game, but can still hard poke you out with just one spear. Lee really has no weakness at all. He is a bruiser with possibly the best mobility in the game. Every single part of his game is above average (damage, tankyness, utility, etc).

I understand how the game is designed, but it honestly is a pretty crap design. Balancing the champs isn't rocket science, it's just laziness and pandering to certain player mains. If Riot would actually balance champs, this would be the greatest game of all time.

Syndra is just abusing Rylai's and works very well against all other mid laners at the moment, She may need some changes but those are the main problems. Aurelion Sol got nerfed a lot lately, but worlds isn't playing on the same patch. Alistar is completely fine, just because you see them in worlds doesn't mean they automatically need to get gutted.

Lugg2 votes

Syndra really doesn't abuse it any more than other mages, so that's a non issue. Sol has gotten tweaks, not so much nerfs. Alistar needs longer CD on his Q for sure. With Q and W, he has a Malphite ult on a stupidly low CD, and Malph's ult is one of the best in the game.

Fairyfleur1 votes

Maybe some changes to Alistar would be reasonable but I'm fairly sure the only positive change that came out of his changes were removing the escape velocity mechanic. But I could be wrong.

EDIT: They made w cost more mana, lowed its damage, but buffed his stars by themselves without the w activated. Overall I don't feel Sol is op though.

Lugg1 votes

Sol is OP if you build the team comp around him. This isn't usually a problem in solo q, but in team play it can be abused. Kind of like the old "protect the Kog" comps.

Already happened. Move along.

You need to stop taking whatever drug that is. You have lost all contact with reality. Nid has NEVER been gutted.

And you can go look at how she is preforming on the live patch instead of how she is doing in pro games played on a patch 3 version out of date.

Lugg1 votes

I did look at it. She has a 51% win rate right now (which is ridiculous for a highly mechanical champ) and her play rate has only gone up since the Worlds patch.

Just man up and admit you are wrong and that she needs some rework.

A Basic Island3 votes

oh and going from the 1:1.25 human E ratio we had in the past to the .2 ratio we have today isn't gutted?

Lugg1 votes

Actually no. It now heals for MORE at low health. I would say it's almost a buff.

SwiftKitten881 votes

nidalee has a 46% win rate...

it donest even reach 50% until plat... and it isnt OP until diamond +

and that was BEFORE her nerf

Lugg1 votes

You can't use win rate to base a champ being OP. Highly mechanical champs will always have crappy win rates at low elo due to people who have no skills playing them and losing horribly.

so.. your saying the fact that nidalee had 50% winrate in bronze-diamond season 1-5. with the exactly same abilities... and now suddenly after those abilties are heavily nerfed

and her winrate drops below 50% it is because she is "high skill cap"?

Lugg1 votes

That's because she has always been OP. There has never been a time when she was weak. The only times she wasn't played is when there were stupidly OP picks you could have taken instead, not because she wasn't good.

SwiftKitten881 votes

you haven't played any games on the account you are posting from since October 2015...

how can you honestly discuss balance of this game..

Lugg1 votes

Yeah, there is no way I could have another account I play on.

ok so.. then your posting from an account you don't play because?

A) your account is banned and u cant play on it B) you don't want people to see you actual elo. (which honestly doesn't mean anything in season 6 anyways so i doubt that's it) C) you don't actually play. D) Lugg's response here

Lugg1 votes

My account isn't banned, otherwise I wouldn't be able to post on it (i'm pretty sure that's how it works). I stopped playing on this account because my MMR on it is God awful. I started ranked as soon as I hit 30 (which of course is a huge mistake) and quickly dropped to B5. It's a pain trying to climb out of there.

I really don't care about ELO rankings anymore. I have gone 8-2 in my promos the last 3 years and Riot puts me in Bronze regardless. I just have gotten tired of climbing every season for no reason since I should be placed in Gold at the least. I have played with and against Diamond players and hold my own quite well TBH.

I'm not sure about the actual number, but I have around 4k games played total over the years.
