ezreal's intended role is as an adc
.
.
"this thing is designed to be exactly this role and have absolutely no flexibility so even retarded people can understand it" - rito
or if im allowed to quote myself from another thread: poor game cant get anything that is not forced into a specific role without the community crying "omg i need predetermination so i dont have to admit im uncreative"
says who??? you know he was released as a support/mage his W used to heal on a 1.0 ap ratio so imagine ap ezreal today, healing his entire team for 800 health while chunking the enemy team for 800 health. his Q had a much higher base and longer range, his E had a much lower cooldown even though its at 6.6 sec at max rank right now lol.
Funny, his secondary role is Mage, and he has more AP scaling abilities than AD scaling abilities.
As someone who's bern playing AP Ezreal for almost a year, I actually have a harder time seeing why people play him ADC.
He's supposed to be a flexible champion that can build AD or AP or even hybrid. Riot wants to keep the ADC entity, but also the mage entity of Ezreal. (Hence his roles are marksman and mage). Same with Kog'Maw (AP kog'maw is more succesful atm than ADC).
any champion can be viable anywhere you want as long as you commit to it. even now ez is really high damage in mid making plays
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dGYt0Ibw94 He was intended to be an ADC/Mage hybrid that can be played in multiple different ways Mage-Ez actually was dominant for a long time after release, and they always tried to keep ap and ad ez prettymuch equally viable(hence the ad-ratio taht was added to his ult at some point when ad-ez was weak, the adition of an ap-ratio to Q, The increased ap-ratio on W after the base was nerfed to hit ad-ez, the increase of the Q ap ratio when lichbane was nerfed...
Ez always was meant to be viable in more than one role.
