I want S7 to be good, but if fan opinion continues falling on deaf ears it won't be.

  • Tons of reworks have been considered failed by both the players, and Riot. What's the obvious answer? MORE REWORKS!!!!

  • The board's absolutely littered with posts of people who have played their mains on the PBE, and are completely discontent. Not a single red post on one of them.

  • Their original post about the jungle plants they're adding got thousands and thousands of upvotes on posts essentially saying DON'T DO THIS. No tweaks, no slower roll-out of the idea, nothing.

**But wait, there's more: **

  • It took 10 months of everyone in the community constantly airing how upset they were with Dynamic Queue. You know, that boosting machine that ranked became. And they HALF repealed it, after spending all those months calling the gripes a "vocal minority."

I'm starting to feel like Riot's completely lost the plot, and Season 7's gonna continue the game of lab rat that Season 6 was for us. I genuinely love this game, but I don't think anyone making it has any idea exactly how shitty it feels to have your main champion reworked in to something you can't recognize, just to have it nerfed in to the ground. But of course like apparently every other player in this game, I'm just a "vocal minority."

Well the boards want all melee champions to be immune to ranged damage and to autowin the game by mashing buttons so its a good thing Riot doesnt listen sometimes.

Well that's obviously an exaggeration on your end, and an exaggeration of what people want. I've seen some mentions of having some different masteries lean toward melees more, and that I can see an argument for.

1.) Your right, we should leave Champs who are outdated, Galio , not fun to play against, Tryndamere , and have no skill increase whatsoever, Warwick , exactly the same, because League should never change.

2.) The boards also littered with posts about people who liked the changes, but covering that up are the massive amount of upvote farm threads.

3.) Again, lots of people liked plants, and they have been tweaked. Spawn areas, times, and rates have all been changed.

4.) I wasn't upset about dynamic. The majority of players I played with weren't either. So IMO it did seem like a "Vocal Minority" disliked it.

Out of all the champion reworks, few seem to have fallen short of the mark. The rest created lore, gameplay mechanics, and in general added more balance to the champions.

Hey know, get out of here with that. can't have you derail an upvote farm with counterpoints.

I completely understand. Poppy was an assassin.

So what did they do to her? They made her a tank.

I feel your pain. Shen was a sustain hypertank with a ranged poke. Then they gave him some awful floating sword mechanic that should have gone to Irelia's rework.

TheHappyReaperz1 votes

What sustain did Shen have?

Hyperiön1 votes

His old E i think gave him health every time the target attacked him, or when he attacked the marked target.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

His Q provided health regeneration (while I believe scaled with your health) to everyone who autoattacked the marked target.

You could get a lot out of it during laning and sustained fights.

It's going to be shit. We know damn well some of the new assassins are going to be broken as fuck for months on end.

EmollientNut04 votes

You know it's weird, I was kind of expecting them to be broken as well but in the reverse direction. I genuinely think that a full AD Wukong will do anything one of the new assassins can but better.

Thats all because of his Ultimate xD

Their original post about the jungle plants they're adding got thousands and thousands of upvotes on posts essentially saying DON'T DO THIS. No tweaks, no slower roll-out of the idea, nothing.

There have been tweaks. Pretty significant ones to the spawn system that the plants use. In fact, the attitude on the PBE forums following these tweaks is actually generally positive (although there are still a significant number of people against them).

This is the problem with trying to judge game changes based on an early response from people who haven't used them. The response is always going to be negative. It was negative when the jungle smites were introduced, and it was negative when they were removed. It's always, always negative.

Tons of reworks have been considered failed by both the players, and Riot. What's the obvious answer? MORE REWORKS!!!!

I'd say that most of the reworks that came after the juggernaut reworks have generally been considered successes, particularly the individual reworks. There seems to be a pretty good reason for Riot to keep going with them. It's better than leaving champions in a pathetic state for years on end because they break the game whenever they're even close to strong.

The board's absolutely littered with posts of people who have played their mains on the PBE, and are completely discontent. Not a single red post on one of them.

There have been a few on the PBE forums, although less than I would like. I actually like Riot not getting too involved with the normal forums while iterating on PBE content. That's the kind of shit that led to 67% winrate Skarner. As a general rule, if a main cares enough about the champion to be posting on the forums, they're probably going to be mad at any change that isn't unquestionably a buff. That's how the Boards community is.

  1. I'm sorry, but I don't really buy that first line. Riot's made tons of changes that weren't hit with resistance. If you have a genuinely good idea that comes of as fun, the resistance won't be there, just like the anti-hype is almost never there for new champions. They might question the balance, but no one's saying new champions are making the game worse.

  2. There's some validity to that, but there have already been so many reworks that have ruined people's main champions that it's nearly impossible to remain skeptical. I don't think any of us can say any version of Ryze has ever been balanced. I think a better approach is to make more small tweaks to champions each patch, based on the performance of their metrics that both Riot and other sites chronicle.

  3. Skarner was definitely over the top when he came out, I'm sure none of us want that again lol. However when you have multiple one-trick youtubers quitting over their main reworks, mixed with the unanswered forum posts, mixed with how underwhelming some new champs look, all sprinkled with the fact that it takes literal months for a bad rework to be put on track, the obvious answer to me is to listen to your player base.

As I previously put, nothing feels worse in this game than your main being reworked to something you can't recognize. At this point I would have rather them give Shen a whole different list of abilities, since he already feels nothing like the old one.
