@RIOT Skarner is not a Diver...

Dear RIOT, I would like to open up a discussion about my favorite Scorpion, Skarner. "SKAR SKAR SKARNER!!

Long story short though, I would like to get a reply from you all as to why Skarner is now classified as a Diver...

Now, my idea of a Diver, is someone who can dive more than just turrets, because anyone can do that if the circumstances are correct. I hear "diver" and I think of someone like Renekton, or Jax who have ways to bypass the frontline of a fight and DIVE into the back line.

Based then on my understanding, it should be pretty clear why I don't think Skarner is a diver. He can't bypass a front line. If Skarner wants to reach a carry, he has to run past anyone else in the way. If my understanding on this is wrong, please enlighten me.

You guys as a whole have gone back and forth on what Skarner is, and I mean, I guess I can understand why. But at least when I look at him, I see 2 things:

Great 1v1 potential, and lots of single target lock down.

So, using your subcategories, I would say Skarner is probably a Skirmisher, with a secondary in Warden.

Skarner is a great duelist, his low cooldown shield and cc chain at as a sort of damage amp and sudo-sustain. Its a damage amp for the same reason its a sustain, while they are cc'd he deals damage and the opponent does not. His dps is pretty decent, especially once you get Sheen and some attack speed for the Q spams.

In teamfights, Skarner can punish bad positioning, but that can be easily countered by items and summoner spells. Fortunately, since he has his slow/stun, he can still peel. Slowing down the enemy front line advances, stunning divers, and saving the ult for that one that gets through, allowing the carries to deal damage.

Jax, on the other hand, is a Skirmisher, with a secondary in Diver. He has great 1v1 potential, with his ult passive and W. Can block AA champs with his E and maybe get a stun. A gap closer to bring all of it together on his Q, and some tanky stats on his Ult active since he doesn't have built in sustain.

I dunno, I just feel like one of us is missing something... Please discuss this with me? "I miss my kind..."
