@Riot, do you think the Trundle changes are enough?

Here's the changes we currently have :

  • Chomp (Q) Trundle can now Chomp (Q) turrets

  • Frozen Domain (W) increased healing and regeneration from all sources increased from 20% to 25%

While I do appreciate Riot gives love to my favorite troll, I don't think these are enough. First, let's agree the W changes won't affect him a lot (with maxed passive, a 6K HP cho dying near him would heal him for 18 additional HP!).

He has currently 45.46% w/r in Plat+, 45.70% in Plat, 47.39% in Gold, 48,15% in Silver and 47,50% in Bronze (everything took from champion.gg).

While in lower elo his w/r seems not too bad, it's getting worse in higher elo.

Here's my question : Will making him able to Q towers bring him back to a healthy state? In theory, he can push faster, and even get first blood tower? But at the same time, is the difference big enough? Sure, he won't have to waste an AA to Q a nearby minion, but if he has an average of 46% in Gold+, shouldn't he deserve larger buffs?

To this day, Trundle is still my most played champion (260k). However, I stopped playing him because of the meta not favoring him, and many champions are better Trundles than Trundle himself, champions that fulfill the splitpush/unrivaled duelist much better than he does (Nasus, for example). I feel like his duelist capabilities should be slightly buffed.

Here's a small buff that just popped up in my mind :

Successful Chomps in a row on champions now give Trundle 2040 AD and reduce his opponent's AD by 1020 for 8 seconds, instead of refreshing the buff/debuff, up to 4080 AD gain and 2040 AD reduction. This way, he's scarier in 1v1s and extended trades, but not in lane/teamfight otherwise. Stacking Q on a minion wouldn't affect him and give him 40 AD lvl 1 right away, he'd have to land both Chomps within 8 seconds on his opponent (and having the 40 AD for 4 secs or less).

it probably won't be enough to make him great (again) but it's at least an OK start, and hopefully they'll keep an eye on him to help him out later

i can understand why riot and players are hesitant to give him strong buffs, though

I gotta agree with this one, at no point he should ever be meta, but that's not a reason to keep him weaker.

And yes, I do hope there's more planned for him.

He's meta based.

Until the meta fills up with fat CC based champs instead of juggs, he will struggle due to how his ult works

what? CC based tanks ARE the meta. juggernauts blow ass right now

that's why 4 of them are being buffed next patch and garen is getting an update later

Illaoi Darius Yorick Mordekaiser Olaf are all viable juggernauts.

CC based tanks are far from the meta. Yes they are involved in it, but to a lesser degree. Botlane is the only position with a decent arrray of tank picks. The only other position in which they arise to any meaningful degree is jungle, even then, it's limited Zac JarvanIV Sejuani, with every other tank sub par. Reason NUNU isn't there is because he lacks hard CC and his Q makes him more of a map control tank.

If CC tanks were the meta, we'd see them dominating the game, in most positions. But instead we have a: juggernaut/diver/skirmisher top lane meta Assassin, diver, fighter, tank jungle meta Mid lane is all over the shop And support which is roughly 50/50 between tanks and casters.

Tanks as a whole are not dominating any position and do not define what people pick. Thus they're not the meta

They're bringing his turret chomp back? This is literally what I've wanted all this time. That's actually a pretty significant change, in more ways than one. The W buff is just icing on the cake honestly (it might actually be an overbuff).

I don't think his Q is as powerful as you'd expect. It's more QoL than anything, but I'll still give it time, I could be wrong.

I've been wanting them to revert that nerf for the longest time, and I'm glad they finally did it. I can work around all of his other nerfs. Guess I'll start playing again after I'm caught up with FFXIV: Stormblood.
