Devourer's onhit magic dmg is very high

I was playing jg against a yi jg. He obviously rushed devourer and he got it sated around 20 minute. We encounter each other when I tried to contest the scuttle but then I realized he was already sated and he went all in on me. I was Ekko item 1410 item 3110 item 3047 He was MasterYi item 3931 item 3124 item 1001 item 1053

We fought and he nearly instantly deleted me. I was surprised and I checked my death recap

Killer Master Yi item 3931 magic dmg 460 MasterYi E true dmg 350 (the image bugged IDK what it is) 95 magic dmg

At that point I almost have more armor than his ad, and as the death recap showed, he killed me with just onhit dmg from devourer and his e true dmg.

Sated devourer 60 onhit magic dmg broken? item 3115 's passive looks like a joke when compared toitem 3931

If Guinsoo's was stacked. (which can happen easily with devourer) That would add 20 + 15% AD + 7.5% AP as magic damage.

So the total hit would be 80 + 15% AD + 7.5% AP where guinsoo's gives around 56 AD and 72 AP.

That could easily give you around 95 on hit. And deal that damage over the coarse of a few hits. (Devourer stacks Grotesquely well with Yi's on hit damage, and his passive.)

The problem is, if yi is able to kill someone who he theriotically should do no dmg to with only the passive onhit items, does it prove that onhit item's onhit dmg is too high?

How do you Justify your "Should do no damage" Argument" when you have only built Armor? And actually, since Devourer only applies on hit effects twice means that his AD damage would be less than the on hit. (Which is magic damage.) The only thing going for you is the AS slow, which is moot if you don't have more defenses to bolster that with.

Given that Yi's kit combined with Guinsoo's does a decent combination of AD, magic, and True damage, Your best defense would have been HP Stacking. That would have required him to hit you a lot more times. Not to mention that the HP would probably have synergized with you Ultimate better as you would have more HP to gain back.

Here is what i mean Yis action was aa me. As an as assasin with auto attack as he's main dmg source, yi in his kit has 2 types of dmg, physical dmg from aa and apha, and true dmg from his e. As the death recap arrange dmg source from the greatest amount of dmg given to least amount of dmg given, it means that yis aa alone did less than 95dmg to me, which is nearly nothing compare to the huge amount of magic dmg he deal from devourer. The issue is not about me dying to a yi, the issue is the artificial power from devourer onhit dmg is literally greater than the combine dmg from Yi's kit(aa, alpha, e).

The dmg deal from an onhit effect on an item is greater than the dmg from the champioms entire kit combined.

This sounds wrong.

You built no HP or MR, while Yi's on-hit build meant a large portion of his damage was Magic and True damage. Frozen Heart is not a good choice as your only defense item against Yi; not only does it just provide armor, which only helps against part of his damage, but since Yi is immune to AS slows during his ult the passive doesn't help much either.

Like Erockandroll said, you want HP to be tanky against Yi (item 3068 for example as it gives HP, armor and damage). But really, you shouldn't try to duel a farmed/fed Yi in the first place, unless maybe you're an equally farmed/fed Jax.

The issue i am trying to point out is not the Yi killing me, the issue is the onhit dmg from an item is actualky greater than the entire dmg from yis kit. This means that yi being broken with sated devourer s not yi being broken it is thr item being broken. Theriotically yi can be replaced by any champion in this sutuation and do about the same amount of dmg with the same build. Sated devourer is simply broken and needs a fix.

Well, that's partly because you had a lot of armor and no MR, and partly because Yi synergizes really well with on-hit items due to all the AS he gets from his ult.

I actually should have about 4~50ish mr with base mr and runes, not sure what level i was so couldnt calcuate.
