I mean yes they are called super, but 4700 hp each? It's not bad enough the enemy team is seiging your base but then the super minions herp derp up to your towers and solo tank them as they fall like nothing. You could also opt to go fight the enemies taking your towers but then you lose your nexus towers.
That's the point of super minions. They are supposed to be an advantage for whoever destroys it. They provide pressure without anyone one pushing the lane.
They're strong because they have to be. Outside of Baron buff, they are generally the way to win the game. Otherwise, people will pick full waveclear and just avoid fights and can stall the game forever. Getting inhibitors is hard, and should be worth the effort.
