How long til displacements are reduced by tenacity?

Just faced this horror of a composition MonkeyKing XinZhao Yasuo Vayne Gragas. And we could barely touch anyone because the entire team were bounced around like beach balls. Why bother locking someone down when they can instead be completely disabled for an entire fight? The only champ who could do anything in this situation is Olaf or a MasterYi Taric combo. item 3140 item 3222 is meaningless because there's just that many displacements and we can't buy anything else to reduce the CC. There was quite literally, no answer to that comp. Unless you have an olaf or taric/yi or pick a hyper lockdown comp like Gnar Amumu Velkoz Varus Leona, even then, that may not work and an olaf would have to 1v5

All the champs with a displacement.

Aatrox Alistar AurelionSol Azir Blitzcrank Braum Camille Chogath Corki Diana Draven Fizz Galio Gnar Gragas Hecarim Ivern Janna JarvanIV Jayce Kalista Kayn Kled LeeSin Lulu Malphite Maokai Nami Nautilus Orianna Poppy Rammus RekSai Riven Sejuani Shyvana Singed Sion Swain Syndra Thresh Tristana Trundle Urgot Vayne Velkoz Taliyah Vi Volibear MonkeyKing XinZhao Yasuo Zac Ziggs Zyra Darius Pyke Viktor Quinn Rakan Ornn All up, 61 champions, 86 spells, a measly 15% of the spells in league of legends. But then... let's consider the champions we have here. Because almost NONE of them are niche and almost all of them have a place in just about every meta. And that is because most of them are tanks or fighters, which generally always have a safe spot top, jungle or support. Where as assassins dictate the meta mid (they either rule it or submit to it) where as the sub types of marksman dictate bot lane.

I just don't get how the most abundant CC cant be reduced

I don't know if we should let tenacity affect displacements, but I definitely think that there should be some sort of cost to use it in order to keep it from becoming spammable and cheap. Examples: Resource Cost and or cooldown.

Tenacity does sort of, effect displacements, actually. All displacements have a mini-stun attached to them, which allows them to be reduced by tenacity and cleansed by QSS/Crucible. However, all this does is remove the mini-stun preventing you from using abilities; you'll still need to use a movement ability (such as Ahri's R or Flash) to cancel out the remaining effects of the displacement.

I don't 100% like the fact that this is how the interaction works, but it's better than nothing.

Actual displacement need to stay the same, but (most) knock-ups should be changed to suspensions

knockups only tbh

I definitely concede that displacements can feel unfair or are annoying, but just a few counterpoints to your arguments:

1.) If you could reduce the distance or duration of displacements in a big way, it would dumpster a good chunk of the champions. For example, if Blitzcranks hook only pulled you about half the distance it does now, he'd be pretty worthless and become a bottom-tier pick. So from a balance perspective, I feel like you'd have to rebalance a BUNCH of champions. Can you give me specifics? Like someone who built with a Tenacity focus should be able to reduce pulls and pop-ups by how much? 25%? 50%? 75%?

2.) Not something I'd wager your thinking about, but it would be a massive project to undertake for Riot. Your talking about changing half the casts abilities. The coding required would be nuts. It'd be a huge amount of effort, and I'm not sure the game would be better for it.

3.) Lastly, I kinda disagree with your point about how all the displacement champions are always in the meta. Just a few off the top of my head that have been very weak at points in the game: MonkeyKing Poppy Aatrox Rammus RekSai

  1. Tbh I'd probs cut out pulls and make them their own CC. Perhaps turn them into suppressions if coding doesn't allow. Perhaps instead of tenacity, we give all CC's a common passive that stacks. @3 stacks, champion becomes immune to any and all displacements (excluding pulls). Perhaps an active item that grounds you, preventing any displacements (including pulls) for X seconds

  2. I can understand that, friend got to see what the coding work was like at a melbourne company for work experience. The sheer amount of coding turned him right off XD

  3. "almost NONE of them are niche and almost all of them have a place in just about every meta. " It wasn't none or all, it was almost.

Hopefully never.

For instance, of Blitz hits a grab it needs to take you to blitz, if it took a person with 50 tenacity half way to Blitz, then the ability becomes something else entirely-- and Blitz becomes very ineffective.

And the same case for most abilities that do so, maybe there's a few that could be changed to non displacements, but displacement needs to ignore tenacity.

it should not matter as long as the value and strength of the displacement abilities are design with the fact that they have a sort of built in tenacity in them.

After all these heroes have balanced win rate ratios, that's what matter at the end of the day.

I'd say it will happen in season 21.
