How draft pick has evolved
I have been playing league since the end of season 3, and draft pick has really change over the years, for the best and worse. Before, you got to pick whatever role you wanted depending on your position in the pick line, just this past season (season 6) you would pick your first pick position, then your second position and it wasnt the best but it was most certainly not the worse and it worked quite well. Now season 7 ever since autofill was added i cant even practice just one or two roles anymore because majority of games i get autofilled (also i was only silver last season so i don't even have long wait times to get a game typically 3-4 minutes max). I understand higher level players have to wait a long time to get into games, especially ranked, and so autofill helps higher level players get into games faster, but for lower level players autofill can almost basically lose a game in champion select.
Some possible solutions to this would be
- that players get to pick their first and second desired potions, then pick one position they do not want to get autofilled to. I for one have always considered ADC my worse role, so when i get autofilled with a support main, and i feel so bad because i am 10 times better at support than adc, but im stuck being autofilled adc.
- Another solution is just get rid of picking positions all together because honestly whats the point of pick what roles you want when majority of games riots matchmaking doesn't even consider what roles you selected.
- Only enable autofill for higher ranked players like diamond or master and above.
