Riot, maybe you should stop doing this whole Roster Update thing, seeing that you fail every time...

Let's just see...

Zac Winrate going freefall. Tbh Zac was more or less fine, I'm not sure why you changed literally anything. Sure, every champ needs some touch-ups every now and then, but Zac was pretty much at the very bottom of that list.

Sejuani Powerbudget all over the place, now can be opressively strong, but without actually feeling strong OR rewarding when playing. I played her a lot in the past, either rank 6 or maybe even seven (can't remember this late in the evening/too lazy to look it up), but I doubt I will play her ever again.

Maokai Incredibly succesfull. At botlane. As support. So good that they might gutt him for all other roles, HURRAY!

Now let's remember the juggernaut debacle:

Mordekaiser No further comment needed, really.

Garen No increase in depth or anything that would have made him more appealing to play, just powerbudget into the villain mechanic, making him effectively useless against anyone else.

Skarner The fact that people dont like to play Dominion shouldn't be an incentive to shove it down their throats.

Darius Almost nothing changed, Q close-range dmg reduce was good, Q heal is maybe bullshit, but overall he has barely any change in functionality, and that was why he was considered actually somewhat successfull when it came to the changes.

Or them mages:

Zyra All hopes of ever being able to walk down mid were destroyed in an instant, as Riot now wants her as support

Malzahar Also a support now for reasons none knows

Brand Pretty much no change in functionality. You still dump all spells on the enemy, even in the same order as pre-rework.

Vladimir Was weird before, is still weird. The tank everyone ignores until 10 seconds in the TF when he can actually use an empowered Q. Teamfight might be long over before that tho.

Or the ADCs:

KogMaw So problematic it had to be reverted.

Caitlyn Oppressive uninteractive long range and massive safety changes into... the same thing, expect traps deal no damage and she got more of them. Still one of the most picked ADC, and one of the most draining to fight in lane.

Graves Got the chance to jungle. Suddenly was better then the dedicated ADC jungler Kindred, while also outclassing tanks at some point.

Corki Got a gimmic. Apart from that barely any change.

Riot, maybe instead of having people waste precious time and effort with these failed projects, how about you open up a thrid ChampUP pod? That way you can catch up on champs that REALLY need the help and increase the speed at which the whole cast gets modernized, effectively reducing the need for such weird Roster-Updates.

Every time there is just one champ with barely any changes that was considered a "success". if your goal is to get only one good result, you might as well aim for full VGUs, at least then that one champ will get enough attention to truly shine .

Sion Poppy Taric Yorick Galio - when it comes to THESE, Riot does a real good job. So it makes even less sense for the roster-upgrades to be so horrificly bad every single time.

Agree they should probably stop the roster updates, but saying they fail EVERY time is just not true.

Generally the philosophy behind those updates is flawed from the start: it is mostly just game-design/balance people sitting together, trying to figure out solutions that will need AS LITTLE RESSOURCES AS POSSIBLE from the art and VFX team. Meaning one in the group will get some fancy particles and mechanics and whatever, and the rest will get whatever is left.

And sometimes champions don't need a full VGU, but they need a little more than "with as little ressources as possible".

I havent seen a Taric or Yorick in ranked in months. I haven't seen Taric in a long time, period.

Mostly because Dedicated Splitpushing kinda becomes impossible once you reach a certain level where the enemy has enough coordination going on (so, no Yorick). Also why pick a dedicated splitpush toplane when you can pick an early powerhouse, grab herald and crash the lane right until inhib tower within a minute or so?

And Taric is probably one of the most powerful, but also MOST TEAM RELIANT supports in the game. And tbh the fact that soloQ isn't exactly full of people you want to rely on - even more then usually - makes sure this guy will never see play there.

But conceptually, counter-play wise and artistically I'd view them fine designs, even tho they cover quite specific niches.

Yea, Taric's ult and E require a degree of communication to be as good as they can be and you cant really get that unless your on coms.

Otherwise you start ulting people and they run away.

The reason malzahar is a support is pretty damn obvious.

It's because he's dependent on his W not going contested. Which is why he's only viable at high levels in the jungle and support where you can easily control camp aggro, and where the enemy is more focused on the ADC.
