Is it just me or is mage itemization in midlane sort of stale?

some mages take rylais instead of ludens, but their itemization is limited yes

The game has never been any different to be honest. If anything is ever going to challenge that it would be a whole bunch of new legendary tier items

because most mid laners are burst mages and they like doing burst damage

support mages tend to enjoy Liandry's, and bruiser/DPS mages often buy RoA and Tear

AP could really use another good 10% and 20% CDR item. With Athene's now effectively being more of a support item and DFG never getting a CDR replacement it is kinda off feeling for a class that usually relies on CDR a lot.

Beyond that it has all the things you needs for building to deal with situations.
