Item that gives CDR for one spell of choice?

this idea has probably been thought of before. pretty self explanatory. when you buy item it will ask you which spell apart from Ultimate to lower its cd. Of course will not exceed the 40% cap.

item could give 10% cdr overal + 10% to a spell of choice, or just give cdr to spell.

this would be great for hybrid champions. Ezreal could max his w cdr with it. kayle could keep your ranged sword up all the time.

of course the item would have drawbacks if needed to balance it vis a vis other items.

a tank, say shen could have more cc (dash) without comprising tankyness if the item has defensive stats too.

I just don't see why cdr has to apply to all spells especially when you want it most for a specific spell.

Yasuo could abuse that.

not so much his q cd goes down with atk speed not cdr and his e is already 0.1 sec cd his windwall has 25 sec cd so and his r is already with really low cd on it that item will be useless on yasuo

Yasuo E has a static cooldown - unaffected by CDR.

sorry, don't play yasuo or played league in a while, forgot how it worked. removed sweeping blade as something that might benefit from this.

would only work for wind wall

Whats the point of giving one skill an extra 10% when you can just give all skills the extra 10%?

it's because the value of 10% on just one skill would cost you less than for all the other skills allowing room to add stats of a different type. If you're looking for more tankyness, mobility or burst damage this would give you have option to suit your playstyle/direction.

You mean champions that can already have 40% CDR if they build for it...?

Well what about champions who currently benefit fully from having max cdr on all spells. You could say the same thing about them atm. This goes for most mages and some supports. And supports are often underrated in terms of the value they bring a team. Leona, janna, sona, zilean, etc. should by the same logic be broken with the current items.

So you're complaining that you have CDR for all spells instead of one?...What?

getting cdr for all your spells is easily obtainable, so many items and runes give you this option. 1 spell out of 4 is hardly a cdr type build. It's for when you want to focus on other things, but still depend on having that one specific skill with cdr to make your desired strategy/playstyle work. say you want to go more bruiser on shen because your team needs more damage, just apply it to your q. However if your team needs cc and a strong front line, you could select his taunt.

it gives flexibility.
