Literally watched Rivens completely lose momentum because they didn't pick up Cleaver or DD or whatever first

The problem is that ER was only good because it was a good first item for riven, its completely pointless as a 3rd item or so.

It allowed her to basically play the 40% cdr game with ult all ins with 1 item, and it gave a shitload of ad.

Cleaver doesnt snowball nearly as hard and sucks to build, and doesnt even build from hammer like old ER did.

It might be from more people trying to play her in ranked since the new item has been released. Since these aren't dedicated riven players or people who commonly have her in their champion pools, their skill has been expresses through this champions winrates at specific ELO's

Oh you mean that Spear turned into a overrated item when they made the build path worse and lowered the AD and increased the price

Yeah, overhyped.

As I've said elsewhere, I think the design issue is that it's still very good and effective if you were already fed. And in that case, it feels awful to play against. But otherwise, you don't get to take full advantage of "Awakened Dragon," so you would be better off building Sterak's or Titanic Hydra or something like that.
