  • New Passive
  • Makes use of the new Grounded debuff throughout kit

It's just gonna be Juggernauts all over again...

Meep Man1 votes

I think they learned from that. While the initial Assassin rework launch was NOT good, I think the overall kits of the new Assassins are healthier overall. They just need to balance them better overall and/or make ADCs more vulnerable to the new Assassins.

Chaos6891 votes

I think they learned from that.

Fiora, Illaoi, and Poppy (to some extent) say otherwise... But who knows? Maybe you're right! I hope so...

Meep Man2 votes

Those are VGUs, not Class Reworks.

Chaos6891 votes

I consider them to be Juggernauts (not really Poppy) in that they were released close to the Juggernaut update (Which was essentially the same thing as a class rework) and have the key attributes of juggernauts.

Meep Man1 votes

Illaoi is a Juggernaut, yes, but I don't consider Fiora a Juggernaut personally.

LongHair Fox2 votes

By the definition of juggernauts neither fiora or poppy are juggernauts. While you can have your personal definitions of what a juggernaut is, it is better to stick to the riot definitions to make communication clearer.

Juggernaut update was a class rework.

Chaos6891 votes

Stop this now. Poppy may not be, but fiora IS a juggernaut. She was reworked at almost the same time and has ALL the earmarks of a Juggernaut: really tanky, gets damage fro free, healing, supposedly immobile but actually is pretty fast, obnoxiously dominant in lane and still relevant lategame. Does tons of damage, takes no damage. SHES A JUGGERNAUT.

LongHair Fox3 votes

Not sure if trolling or? Anyway the definition of juggernauts:

Juggernauts are melee titans who relentlessly march down the opposition and devastate those foolish enough to get within their grasp. They are the only subclass who excel at both dealing and taking significant amounts of damage, but in turn they have a tough time closing in on targets due to their low range and extremely limited mobility.

None of the juggernauts have anything more than a speed up. Fiora does not match into that description. By your logic camille and warwick are the same champion since they were released at about the same time. Juggernauts have nothing to do with healing or domination in lane although they do often have some of those qualities. Finally fiora is not really dominant in lane, she is just not a tank or absolutely horrible in lane.

Chaos6891 votes

You're really getting tilted over a definition of juggernaut? Fiora is a melee tank who does tons of damage. >>>

And yeah shes strong in lane.

Personally I think Zac and Naut will remain relatively untouched. Malphite definitely needs more power in his basic kit because his ult eats up most of his power budget.

Meep Man1 votes

Indeed, the 400 (+100% AP) magic damage AoE knock up that is also a gap closer takes a BIT too much power.

I don't think swapping Poppy's Q to flat is a bad idea. I'd rather have her second burst deal more damage at the cost of the first (like 4% on the first hit, 10% on the second. Leaves the total unchanged but rewards you for landing the second one) or have it scale with rank.

Meep Man1 votes

Yeah, I would expect something along the lines of:

Q- Hammer Shock Poppy smashes the ground, dealing 35/50/65/80/95 (+60% bonus AD) plus 3% of the enemies' maximum Health as physical damage, and leaving an unstable area. The area slows enemies inside it by 20/25/30/35/40% and erupts after 1 second, dealing 70/100/130/160/190 (+120% bonus AD) plus 7% of the enemies' maximum health as physical damage.

New Total Damage: 105/150/195/240/285 (+180% bonus AD) plus 10% of the enemies' maximum health Old Total Damage: 70/110/150/190/230 (+160% bonus AD) plus 14% of the enemies' maximum health

This makes her less of a Tank shredder and also more reliant on hitting her enemies with the second wave. However, her overall damage against squishy champions is equal if not increased.

This time they are focusing on vanguards. While vanguards are tanks not all tanks are vanguards. A vanguard is an initiating tank that wants to get into the enemy backline and disrupt them. This includes things like Amumu Galio Gnar Gragas Leona Malphite Rammus Sejuani Sion Zac .

There are likely others but maokai is a guardian, that is a defensive tank whos main purpose is peeling and will likely not be one of the big ones.

Meep Man1 votes

Maokai is getting a splash update in the update as well and was also featured as a picture in the little "Champion Update" post so I assumed he would be worked on. However, I could be wrong

Ralanr1 votes

Galio is also a Warden/guardian.

Big Lincoln1 votes

don't give sejuani grounded debuff lmao, shed be pick ban

Meep Man1 votes

Cassiopeia ? More explanation required how adding the Groudned debuff somewhere in her kit would make her pick/ban

Big Lincoln1 votes

cass isn't mobile

where are you gonna put it? W or E and she's broken; on her R's secondary AoE? she's broken

sej doesn't need it, other changes would work out better

Meep Man1 votes

You say it like I'm just saying "Hey, let's just tap it into her kit without taking anything away!" Sejuani deals too much burst damage, as said in the post, so her damage would rely more on her sticking near her targets and more on landing consecutive E's rather than "R, Q, E, W, and then spin to win for 4 seconds". No, it would be more like "R, Q, E, W, spin to win for multiple seconds, E, E, E". The damage would be more spread out.

Big Lincoln1 votes

im saying that I don't want it, it isn't a strength sejuani needs when she already has a solid foundation to start with

made a thread about it the other day

Meep Man1 votes

Assuming that she's being looked at with the tank update.

Things I think need to happen:

Improve her attack animations. I don't mind that they're slow but they have absolutely no impact at all; the way she swings her weapon looks like she can barely wield it. Quality of life change, but still important.

Make her passive stronger, but more conditional. Free armor and slow resistance just for tagging someone isn't something that'll be easy to balance; if it's strong enough to feel noticeable then it's probably too good. If it was tied to something that required more commitment on Sejuani's part, then I think it would have more room to be made to feel good without being too powerful.

Return late game power to her. Sejuani should stand out as a late game investment compared to other tanks; where they excel in mid-game with big shields and high base damage, Sejuani should outscale them by converting her defensive stats into damage, and turning into a teamfight beast once she's close to full build.

Things I would like to happen:

Merge her E with her W and give her a new ability. I don't think that her current kit offers enough play between her and her opponents, which is why she became so oppressive in season 5 when the game shifted in her favor. This lowers her ability to permaslow from range, but we can compensate her generously for managing to stick to melee range.

Make Q more telegraphed, but more rewarding to land. Same reason as above; it's a short range dash but it's incredibly hard to dodge short of burning a mobility spell. If there was more gameplay for both people then I think some more power could be given to it to make it more satisfying and feel less bullshit to get jumped on and permaslowed. It's not really a problem spell, but it'd still be nice to give it a little more oomph.

I think Sejuani has a strong foundation for a kit, but could be given a handful of changes to make her feel better to play as and against. I hope she's considered for the tank update.

Seems kind of what I'm saying in my eyes. Maybe add a Grounded effect to champions hit by her Q and then give her some nice, aggressive, sustained damage for sticking in melee range. Naturally, sustained damage makes her have a better late game. Finally, I would like to give her a new, more interesting passive besides a stat boost, which is somewhat what you say.

Big Lincoln1 votes

i think a means to reduce enemy resists would benefit her as a late game champion, as opposed to herself getting beefier from her passive

but amumu already has that
