Daily reminder that we still want solo queue
keep it daily boys, we need to show rito that their PR trick won't work and solo queue is still wanted.

So are these threads.
We need to build a wall and make Dynamics pay for it!
I didnt miss it until I actually ran into a 4 man team and they basically pulled every piece of shit thing people complain about premades doing to solo players.
Luring me into team fights and running away then saying I'm feeding, posting text saying I'm afk, belittling me, begging for my lane choice and harassing me if I didnt give it up, all that good stuff.
[deleted]
Yeah I'd rather have one toxic player than have a 4 man toxic premade
i like you you make the 1 good point that 99% of other players that complain about this dont bring up. i was trolled in a ranked game by a 4 man and got report like 8 reports because my team kept on bard ulting me and saying i was intent feeding and such so i got chat restricted this is bullshit.
I really don't understand why people would want to play this game alone ? You enjoy the mechanics of this game so much you wanna team up with 4 random people you've never met and play for LP? Wat ?
Forgive my ignorance but I still dont understand why you guys prefer random flamer's/feeders/afkers/ trolls over people you like and trust to play well, esp in ranked.
If you guys can explain why you prefer randoms over friends, esp in ranked I'd love to know. Cheers :D

Dynamic Queue is inherently unfair and gives an advantage to premade groups. It cannot properly assess skill when you have premade teams playing against individual players. It cannot properly assess skill when you allow two tiers (not divisions) of difference to be placed into the same game. On top of that these premade groups are being evaluated as individual players, not as a team.
There was a place where you could play with friends. It was called Ranked 5v5, but that isn't available anymore. The closest thing we have now is a featured game mode.
Hey thanks for answering. Just to make a few counterpoints to discuss:
gives an advantage to premade groups.
I think in any sport or game teaming up with past allies will result in a better performance than teaming up with a random. It makes sense because the premades will play better than If they were playing solo . If I play at a higher skill level my premades, don't I deserve to climb ranks? Since I'm playing better ?
A silver solo could become a gold in a premade. Does the player deserve a gold rating or silver?
Curious to hear your thoughts thanks for replying :)

The ranking is invalid because they are playing by a different format. Solo Queue, Ranked Teams, and Dynamic Queue are different formats that play out very differently. In most other games, they divide the rankings of each of the different queues, like how they divided Solo Queue and Ranked Team ratings. Take Magic the Gathering for example. A top player in Modern is different from a top player in Vintage and both are different from Legacy because the deck compositions are very different. The same applies to normal ranked games between ranked players and LCS games between ranked teams.
You can earn your gold rating, but it should not count as a Solo Queue rating. It should count as a #-premade elo rating and you should not be being matched against anyone other than a premade group of the exact same size. 3+2v3+1+1? Invalid because the two teams are playing in different formats. 4+1v4+1? Valid because they are in the same format.
100 % agree. You're right it doesnt make sense to give 1 rank to everyone. each player should have various ranks.
One rank for how good they are at solo, another rank for how good they are in groups.
It doesnt make sense to give them both the same rank and meaning. its not.
I say if you pick SOLO ( when picking rank game) you should be getting solo ranked points. If you choose Party, youshould get dynamic ranked points.
I know for me it comes down to ranked integrity or meaning or whatever you want to call it. I enjoy playing with friends as this game is definitely more fun when playing with friends. But the entire idea of ranked is to be competitive and to find your true rank. And it just does not make sense to say someone is xxx rank if they have the option to play with friends. Only in a solo situation can players say they actually know their rank and prove it among their peers. In reality, solo queue vs dynamic queue really only affects the top percent of players. Still, a lot of us (at least those who up vote) realize having solo players and pre-mades ranked on the same ladder does not make sense.
I also personally know I prefer playing ranked solo if I am actually trying to rank up. Why? Well.... 1. my friends who still play this game are lower rank than me and winning with them is rather hard at times. 2. I want to prove I can achieve a rank without being "carried by others". Plus I can just focus more when playing alone. I have played with people my same elo or a little higher and it is fun, but It should really be kept to a team vs team environment or normal not one ranked ladder.
This is a well written post and I'm having a hard time finding counterpoints. Give me a minute lemme try to offer some counters.
However you make some great points thanks for sharing
My rank should show how well I work with others to acheive victory. I'm a support main, and my entire job is based around helping the rest of the team to acheive victory. Why shouldn't my rank reflect working with others in a group to gain an advantage, by amplifying each of our own strengths and covering for each others' weaknesses?

because premades have a advantage over solo players so find 4 others and team q
Untill ranked teams are on 24/7, I do not accept this as an argument.
idea of ranked is to be competitive and to find your true rank
I think we should define this more. For me ranked means how GOOD of a player I am overall.
So when I solo, i'll be playing WORSE in any role, since I wouldnt have any synergy with my teammates. I would have to be in pure Solo Q mentality : Hard carry by myself and trust no one else.
In premades/ voice comms, I can trust my teammates and organize good plans. Organize invades, make faster roams. Perfect Shen ulties etc.
Only in a solo situation can players say they actually know their rank
I think you can show your rank in any situation. Whether you Solo, Duo , or 5 man you're playing Ranked. You will try your hardest to win. Do you think that Different Group sizes should have varying degrees of LP gained? Or seperate ranked ladders?
I think that ANY way to play is a viable way to ranked. IF EVERYONE wins more in a group, should you try your best to improve your game by playing with pals? I think its obvious that playing with friends has a higher win rate. I have many friends and I add really good randoms I find in Queue as welll. So I always try to invite everyone
Plus I can just focus more when playing alone.
I agree, I used to love playing solo too. I dont always use comms. We know how each other will play and I can trust my bot lane not to feed double kills and I have great synergy with my laners. When I come to gank , they'll come help and not keep last hitting obliviously.
I used to play SOLO Q for many seasons. However Now that DQ is out I enjoy that a lot more. SOLO Q was frustrating. Random people, Random roles. DQ is way better imo
Hey thanks for the awesome response.
So when I solo, i'll be playing WORSE in any role, since I wouldn't have any synergy with my teammates. I would have to be in pure Solo Q mentality : Hard carry by myself and trust no one else.
I was originally having a hard time thinking of a response to this point, when I realized this might be the main point all the solo queue vs dynamic queue threads is trying to debate. And that is dynamic queue really has changed the meaning of ranked. As a mostly solo player, I look at each game as me going in with a bunch of random players. All I can do is focus on me and try and help my team the best I can. I have to adjust to my teammates around me as I don't know them and their play style and they don't know me. I have grown accustomed to this thinking since I have played solo queue since season 2. But now dynamic queue has changed the mentality and really the meaning of rank overall. You say you will be playing worse if you are playing solo rather than playing with teammates since you don't know your team and can't coordinate. But I would argue you are wrong. Assuming no one on your team or the other team knows each other, then the idea of "have any synergy with my teammates" changes. It now becomes important to be able to adapt quickly to the players around you. The better you get at doing this generally the better you will be at a game. And then your ability to be able to play with randoms in a certain role is your actual skill/rank in that role since no one else has that synergy advantage over each other. But in the current system it is advantageous to have synergy with your teammates. If you queue up as 3 people then you have to assume you are most likely at least playing another 3 man premade. Assuming its true, then both teams have players who should have better synergy together than with their random teammates. So if you are in the premade it is now your duty/skill/rank to have the ability to play with your premade and control the game vs (in what is supposed to happen) another similar premade team. But in that game right there you have a broken situation. You have two players playing solo who don't know you or the rest of the team. They are trying to play and adjust to your play style while you and your friends know each other play style and are trying to carry a game. At the same time the solo players are trying to face the enemy solos and their premades. So now the solo players need to worry about coordinating with plays you 3 want to make, but also having to be more cautious about the enemy premade and tower 3 man tower dives they may not be accustomed to worrying about. So it really makes the mentality of each ranked game change and therefore the meaning of ranked since you have both solo players and premade groups playing together on the same ladder.
A player was nice enough to link me some jungle videos as I am trying to get better at jungling. In one of the videos the player/coach says basically in x situation it is a better idea to take dragon if you are playing solo. But if you were playing with a team it would probably make sense to take turrets instead and wait to take dragon. Although he was talking about solo queue vs an actual LCS 5v5 style it still shows you that how one acts or anticipates a situation can depend if they are with or against a team or a bunch of solos.
I think you can show your rank in any situation. Whether you Solo, Duo , or 5 man you're playing Ranked. You will try your hardest to win. Do you think that Different Group sizes should have varying degrees of LP gained? Or seperate ranked ladders?
I personally think separate ladders makes the most sense, although I know this won't happen and can understand why Riot has not done it. Dynamic queue needs solo players and creating two queues would make queue times go up a lot. In reality..... ranks would not be much different for most people but in a perfect world two queues would make the most sense I feel. I mean 5v5 ranked makes a lot of sense and I am happy they brought back a separate ladder for that. You always know you will be verse another 5v5 team and the way 5 people who are organized play together would be different than people playing solo or even in smaller premade groups. I don't really know about lp gains and group sizes. I personally think if you are going to allow people to group and play ranked, then your lp gains should not be affected.
I agree, I used to love playing solo too. I dont always use comms. We know how each other will play and I can trust my bot lane not to feed double kills and I have great synergy with my laners. When I come to gank , they'll come help and not keep last hitting obliviously.

I did enjoy duoing with friends in the old system and It hasn't changed in the new system. One thing to keep in mind is although new champ select was shipped out with dynamic queue, it is still separate from the idea of being able to have groups of any size in ranked. Riot could have easily implemented new champ select in old solo queue or restrict party size to a duo (like the old days) and any of the benefits seen from new champ select would have been seen in this same situation. I personally have not met anyone who does not like the new champ select and I think it was a great decision by Riot.
I personally have 3 ranked accounts so I have a somewhat unique situation. Since I am low elo dynamic queue has not really affected me and I have been able to solo two accounts to my actual elo (gold 4-5), which gold has always been my goal so I am happy about it. My other account I use strictly for playing ranked grouped with friends. That account is actually lower ranked than my other two, even thought it has more games played. But I do play with lower elo friends so that does have some effect. I have added some random smurfs I met while playing on that account and played with those players. We almost never lose a game and I could have easily continued to rank up higher if I wanted to but stopped playing with those players. Although a majority of players wont do this, dynamic queue does make it easier to play with or rank up with multiple smurfs much quicker and to a higher rank than they could achieve solo. This could be done on the old system too, its just easier now. I think the biggest problem I said earlier is with high elo. LCS and other high rank players have said they are not fans of the new queue or don't take it as seriously and now even have their own tournament realm to play on since its more competitive. So the fact that top ranks in this game now mean less than they used to basically trickles down to lower ranks mean less than they used to as well. Which is really unfortunate in what is supposed to be a very competitive game.
Dude this post describes the whole situation perfectly. I agree with everything you've said. Well written!
I think your last point made me realize why I love DQ so much. Me and my friends ARE smurfs. Im in low silver on this account but can play at a plat lvl. All my friends are similar too. So when we rank, I prefer ranking together because we never loose. ( Yeah I know surfing is frowned upon, but I still love getting pentas) .
Well written and well said ! Is the skill of a high ranked players the ability to play all roles and adapt to varying teammates each game? Or does a high ranked player find synergistic teammates and carry that way. Perhaps both
Haha idk it was pretty wordy but tried to write down what I was thinking. Idk man you have to tell me I am low elo scrub haha. I think its probably a combination of both. I think its more about just learning the game and your role and you learn to play at a certain level regardless of who your teammates are. But if you know your allies and learn to better play with them then that shows skill as well.
I personally have found it more difficult to rank up with friends but more rewarding when you win. And even losing generally does not feel bad unless some gets unusually salty.
All I can say is... I know for a fact I probably would not have played league last night if not for my friends being on wanting to play. I still will up vote solo queue posts and personally still want it but I also do enjoy playing ranked with friends in dynamic queue. Not sure what all the right answer is.

the answer is team q and solo q. you want to play with friends play a 5 man team in team q
Playing Solo = 4 other people could be trolls/AFKs/ bad/ etc.
Going premade = 1 less troll/afk/baddie/etc. for each premade friend. You can have multiple smurfs boosting you as well.
It might be less fun, but at least it makes it so ranked actually means something. Ranked isn't meant to be the super fun, casual mode; Those are normals. Ranked should prioritize competitive integrity above all else.
http://i.imgur.com/5It82u4.png?noredirect
Meaningful as fuck.
You see, if you can't play with friends, you are actually running a higher chance of people sucking, simply because they play premade.
Why?
Because - and it's confirmed by Riot themselves - that higher ranked solo player are used, to balance the fact a bunch of scrubs, decides to boost themselves playing together.
Ranked should prioritize competitive integrity above all else.
Sadly, as proven above, ranked has absolutely no competitive integrity left at this poing.
PS. I wasn't aganist Ziggs. Sion was mid.
I don't get what you're trying to prove with the above photo? You're a plat 5, probably with a lower MMR than your division getting matched with mid-high level gold players. When I was silver 1 I was regularly getting put in games with G3 players so that the photo just appears to be a normal game.
Now if you are trying to call out the other 4 people on your team for being a premade then I have some questions. Obviously you were mid against ziggs, ziggs appears to have been the one to carry the enemy team along with rengar. How was ziggs able to get so many kills 20 minutes in? My guess is you allowed him to roam freely and pick off kills with his ult, you also probably didn't mirror his roam and try to counter engage. You also only placed 5 wards the entire game and zero pinks. As a plat player I think you should know how important vision control is, ziggs on the otherhand placed 2 pinks, probably in the river to watch for heca ganks. You killed zero wards so the times heca came to gank he probably got caught out because you weren't checking for wards and removing them as needed and if ziggs did spend so much time roaming to get all those kills how come you weren't able to take the tower? Much less your CS was horrible for a cass since you can easily farm under tower.
My thoughts about what happened are you didn't like the Urgot pick, probably got tilted because of that and then your team probably gave up first blood resulting in you saying "fuk it" and sitting in your lane the entire time.
People like you are really quick to call everyone else out on something and ignore the clear and obvious mistakes that you made on your part.

I wouldn't saying anything, if that was actually my ELO, but pretty much every game, beyond the one I posted in my previous comment, looks like this ELO-wise.
http://i.imgur.com/r7SmxfD.png?noredirect
Looks like a pretty normal Plat 5 ELO, for me. I mean, if my ELO was actually as bad as here
http://i.imgur.com/5It82u4.png?noredirect
I wouldn't be able to stay in Plat for even one game at 0 LP.

Because I wasn't mid. I was top. Sion was mid. I'm still questioning myself, why I haven't dodged on the spot.
As when it comes to Rengar... well, first of all he wasn't actually ganking me and when he did, I just killed him. Say what you will, but for me wards were rather redundant there.
My thoughts about what happened are you didn't like the Urgot pick, probably got tilted because of that and then your team probably gave up first blood resulting in you saying "fuk it" and sitting in your lane the entire time.
Frankly, I don't care what people pick as long as it works. But it didn't. He went 0/3 before losing the first tower, then 1/5/1 overall at which point he went AFK. He just rage quit. Ironically, he was the one to say "fuk it" before that happened. And to be honest, I haven't said a word of complain about any one of them in the game. I didn't even notice Urgot went AFK until like 5 minutes after.
People like you are really quick to call everyone else out on something and ignore the clear and obvious mistakes that you made on your part.
The only mistake I did, as mentioned before, was not dodging on the spot, which actually can't be fixed duning a match.
My question now was why did you play top cass and mid sion? That matchup should be the other way around since you are a better fight against ziggs than sion. Clearly mistakes were made, the first tower didnt fall until 15 minutes in and you guys /ff at 20 right before they killed the nexus. Looking even closer at the kills and times there is no reason you should not have taken your tower and gone to help other lanes. You stayed top until the first tower fell, killed Irellia 3 times and pretty much had free farm for the first 15 minutes. You should have easily taken the tower or had way more CS than you did. If it was clear the enemy mid lane was going to carry you should have been attempting to gank him as often as possible. You also did not take TP as a top lane, yes it was nerfed but it is the reason the mid lane and jungle could massacre the rest of your team, if you were always showing top they had no worries about you joining the fight. As a top lane your job is to take the tower as fast as possible and split push the shit out of them. No TP prevents you from doing that, prevents you from giving pressure on dragon or bot lane, and is overall a selfish move on your part as a top laner.
You can't blame anyone but yourself for the outcome of your game. YOU could have roamed more since you demonstrated lane dominance, YOU could have lane swapped vs ziggs to give sion a better matchup, YOU could have taken TP to help other lanes, YOU could have done more than sit in your lane complaining about your feeding team, but you didn't.
Did you actually read ANYTHING I wrote there?
Sion had absolutely zero intention to win that game.
That reads out any kind of lane swapping and considering how he was treating Hecarim's ganks, also ganks, since I'd be basically 1v1 or 1v2 aganist a fed Ziggs and possibly Rengar there, who was also fed. Also I never take TP, unless I'm like Nasus, because otherwise I'm always regretting it. For example, that Exhaust I got myself there, was possibly the only reason, I wasn't also one of those guys, who got shit on in lane and end up like 0/5.
As for my farm or tower, well, it's a great idea indeed. Unless you end up with like 10% HP not knowing where Rengar could possibly be. For example, the fact I wasn't pushing the lane, like a moron you say, I should be, was also a reason, I haven't been killed twice for free by Rengar. But it's my fault. I should stay to push it and die a second after, because that's a great idea.
Don't act, like YOU were in that game, because what YOU could read based on that match in my history, doesn't tell EVERYTHING. Don't act, like YOU would be able to salvage a team that unconditionally loses ALL lanes, before 5th minute of the game. Also I said, I wasn't complaining about my team in that game, but you seem too dumb, to get to that part, without me point it for you.
Since you asked and I have some time allow me to field your inquiry.
The entire core of hatred (I use that word sparingly) pertaining to DQ vs SQ lies in the fact that all competitive integrity (established seasons 1 through 5 via SQ) has been seemingly erased. I don't argue one bit that playing this game with people that you know you can rely on to perform, not feed, not flame, etc etc is a bad thing, not one bit.
However, that's not how the competitive arena of League of Legends was developed for 5 years, had they started with DQ from day 1 and then suddenly swapped to SQ here in season 6 I can assure you the reaction would've been the exact same.
Extreme hypothetical time : How do you think players in the NBA would react if for no apparent reason the basketball was now filled with a viscous liquid? Or maybe replace the traditional circle hoop with a square or triangle? Again, this is a very extreme comparison since one of these is a sport based in the physical world while the other is attempting to be a sport in the digital world ... the dynamics of unwelcome change are parallel though, at least to me.
edit - Why down vote this person for asking a valid question? How silly...
Ohh that makes sense. The meaning of ranked is different than it was the first 5 seasons.
The first 5 season your rank reprsented how good of a solo player your were, and the ability to adapt game to game and deal with random teammates. This season your rank stands for how good of a player your are, with teammates you synergize with.
Thanks for replying, makes more sense now.
Idk about the downvotes either, never gotten -10 before lol . I guess people really hate DQ
Correct.
Keep this up.
As much as you call it a "PR trick", they've openly said in their Dynamic Queue Roundtable video that SQ is not coming back. They are not bringing back SQ, no matter how much you spam the boards with posts about SQ.
There's only one option for you - accept the change and move on. Of forever choose to remain salty.

stop playing pay no money into the game and keep spamming boards is a viable option if enough people do that i promise soloq will come back
Riot is obviously not paying attention to these posts, so you delude yourself into thinking spamming even matters. I'm not with you, i am a solo player and i don't mind DQ at all.
I accept premades because i enjoy a challenge. And even playing in a solo environment is a challenge in itself because even one player can ruin a game for you and it's up to the rest of his team to pick up his slack.

Another idiot who doesnt understand that situations were just compared and that they are not equal.
What is a comparison?
#You.
typing in big bold letters just to act dramatic huh little man?
#I figured this would get your attention since you're not inclined to notice anything smaller. It seems like it does the trick.

Okay, point 1 - I think you meant 'Or forever choose to remain salty.' Point 2 - it seems to me that you presented two possible options ... invalidating the whole
There's only one option for you
Coherency is difficult to maintain, I understand. I'm bored so I decided to log in and give you this quick rundown of why I simply can't take you seriously anymore.
