Why does every Vayne take Press the Attack?

1. Press the Attack's three-hit proc is better for trades in lane.

2. Press the Attack has no cooldown.

3. Press the Attack amps the damage for your whole team.

4. Press the Attack provides almost identical late-game DPS as Lethal Tempo.

So basically, Press the Attack is better in absolutely every way.

Tempo is too bad to be a contest, honestly. Press the Attack empowers short trades without cooldown. Tempo you take a 3 hit trade, they back off, you get initiated on without a keystone and lose the fight.

Because she cannot start Lethal Tempo's warm up period before entering auto range.

Lethal Tempo just isn’t as strong, especially in the early game. A bad early game sets the tone of your whole game.

Vayne top seems to like Lethal Tempo more, because with her knockback and roll she can keep a melee opponent at a distance and doesn't need to maximize damage in short trades, she can control the fight and stay on top during long ones.

Actually - phase rush is just so damn annoying if she's played top. She will run you down starting level 1 and easily get chunk trades off for about 1/3 your hp. Lethal temp requires an extended trade; pta is better suited for shorter early trades in lane and still good for extended trades. Because vayne is weak in laning phase compared to most other adc's, she takes the rune that makes her stronger for laning phase. She already scales super well late game, so there's no need to improve her scaling. Plus thanks to her q to reset her aa, she can proc pta faster than many other adc's (along with luc and sivir - with w to reset aa).

Synergy with her W? PtA is a three hit ability and so is her W. And maybe PtA is better for short trades in lane (where you're not going to get a lot of AAs off).

Everybody here seems to be forgetting how strong Aery + Vayne is...

As far as I'm aware Pta increases damage from all sources by 12%
