As a top laner, there is nothing quite so tilting for me...

As when my jungler decides to try and 1v1 my lane opponent while I'm trying to farm under tower.

I always find this aggravating. If I've got a HUGE minion wave (like 10 or so) and the jungler expects me to ignore that gold and experience for a gank they set up improperly, I just try to see if there's anything I can actually do. Worst case scenario, I miss a bit of farm to make the enemy back but when this happens you're usually still behind. :/

Your jungler didn't "decide" to 1v1 your lane opponent. You left him hanging.

If I went to gank for a lane and that person decided to prioritize picking up a few cs over taking advantage of the opportunity I've created by ganking, I would not gank for them again for the rest of the game.

You gotta realize the problem with ganking someone who's terribly behind like this though. In the instance OP is talking about, it's different than just letting your lane opponent push to create a good gank opportunity. Farming under tower means your opponent is ahead. Every CS at that point is going to matter, and the laner in question won't be in a good spot to assist gank unless the enemy is just being an idiot and WAY overextending.

OP never specified.

However, if the gank is there, it will go a lot father to evening out the lane than not ganking and having the laner sit there and last hit under turret.

If the gank is free, you should leave the cs and engage it.

A gank that doesn't get you ahead while you're behind can be more detrimental than helpful though.

If your opponent keeps you forced under tower (rather than you freezing in front of it by choice) you're behind. Even if you're both 0/0, you're behind. Unless this is like a lvl 2 early gank, they're GOING to be ahead, be it in level or items. The chance of them securing a 1 for 1 or even getting away at the cost of 10+ CS is pretty high.

If the enemy laner is ganked, you get at lesat 150 gold which is about 8 cs by itself. if you get the kill you get 17-18 cs worth of gold. You then can return to your whatever cs is left, and farm that. If its not, you can push out the lane and get a free back to pick up an item, i then the meantime, the enemy laner is losing cs and xp.

If the jungler is coming to gank your lane, its because he feels fairly certain that the 2v1 will go in your team's favor. If you don't engage, you've essentially told the jungler

  1. I don't care if you die 1v1 bc I want to cs
  2. I don't care about how you could have used your time elsewhere on the map
  3. I dont know how to manage a lane to achieve the optimum result in an otherwise shit match up

All of those things lead to the same place: You are not getting another gank from that jungler.

There is literally nothing junglers hate more than pinging that we're coming to gank, engaging, and getting zero backup. Because we take damage, have to cut our route short and back, get nothing for our time, and probably lose our camps on the other side of the map.

Every time a jungle shows in your lane, he's making a sacrifice to help you out.

Nothing tilts junglers more than spam pinging theyre coming to your lane just for you to sit under tower farming wasting their time, and this is coming from a top laner.
