Here's a reverse situation i had in my provisional game a few days back:

Rakan + Jinx VS Thresh + Lucian (I was Rakan). Told Jinx from the start that we don't have early game against these two and that she should not engage them unless we clearly have the advantage. She of course doesn't listen and they get FB. Immediately after that i get "what a shit tier, useless support" feedback. So i ask: "What happened with 'don't engage them'?" and then she did the exact thing 4 more times...

Fortunately for me, i muted her after i finished typing my comment as i sensed she'd engage her SZPM (Salt Zero Point Module) into overdrive and would waste my time arguing over how dumb she was but blaming it on me.

Toplane doesn't magically disappear. There's an inhibitor there too you know, as is Herald and Baron.

... Jungling? What you are suggesting is an extreme, as in your jungler is afk farming his jungle camps the whole match. However, if the enemy jungler is camping 1 lane your jungler has the freedom of ganking 2 lanes, take dragon and herald and counterjungle. A lot of people confuse "my jungler is not helping me" with "my jungler sucks". Does it suck to play top lane and get camped without getting help? Yes, absolutely, Will you win in the end because camping 1 lane for 20 minutes is a terrible strategy? Most definitely. Sometimes you have to put aside your personal needs if it means you win in the end.

Wow, shockingly, A) He isn't ganking the other two lanes, B) the opposing jungler and opposing top laner are ganking mid/bot, C) Mid and Bot are losing off solo deaths or just aren't good players (thus ganking them is almost a waste compared to top lane), and/or D) Jungle is camping a lane that shouldn't be camped.

The usual issue is that while enemy Jng is camping your lane, your jng is afk farming and at the end of the day their jng usually comes out ahead of your jng while you relatively left in dust until much later in the game due you were constantly pressured 2v1 in a situation where a single good counter gank could have turned everything around.

As someone whose been playing a lot of top AND jng lately, I can clearly say just roaming up to top lane in that situation can do A LOT to help your top since the enemy top and jng are likely doing that since they don't have the skill, power, and/or confidence to talk on your top 1v1. Usual outcome is jng just busts out of there since they now feel disadvantaged since they aren't 2v1ing anymore.

Eh, when I'm jungling and my top lane gets solo killed back-to-back I just write it off as a loss and try to snowball other lanes. Getting solo killed twice in top lane is the biggest indicator of poor game knowledge. Dying once, ok, maybe it was close and the other got one-upped you. But to be dumb enough to let it happen again within a couple minutes is pretty much unforgivable.

actually, it could be pretty bad previously before Riot revamped the jungle

had an even matchup once (I forget who versus riven), well, riven ran off into jungle...somehow she came back with 2 levels of advantage over me and proceeded to crush (level 2 against level 4 riven who now has her full combo)

and we all know what happens when a Riven gets a kill...

Supports obviously haven't played Top Lane.

At least you have a lane where people care about instead of leaving you to get camped 2v1 for 15 minutes or playing againt Teemo as melee or whatever and even if you manage to go through that hell, it doesn't matter because you can be kept busy just by having someone who wouldn't be helping their team otherwise just split push.

Exactly. Everyone gets blamed. Everyone gets insulted. Everyone has bad games. Everyone gets shit on by metashifts. Everyone has to rely on their team. Don't pull that "then why does support not have as many people playing it" because most people want to be the hypercarry/assassin/juggernaut who deals tons of damage.

P.S. I think coddling supports is insulting to them.

i think they find support boring. cause they have to stay back and heal/shield or CC instead of getting in on the action and find warding boring as well.

Yes, supports can be shitty too, but when i compare the times where i have seen an adc and a support being shitty, the adc's take the cake.

Supports have it pretty good actually. Free gold, super broken actives, are good when behind, etc.

Support is also the only position for tanks where the winrate hasnt changed and gone down like 5%, so that's another plus.

Except is the fact you almost take the constant brunt of the game community's toxic REALLY worth that? There is a reason why a lot of support mains are good at other roles, not just to be good at ranked but because playing support is so mentally and emotionally exhausting that you need to be a certain kind of happy-go-luck or emotionally dead inside to support 24/7.

While that's true sometimes, whenever I play support I almost never get flamed by anyone unless I do some really stupid shit like naut hook the fed volibear or something.

I ward often, communicate with my team frequently, don't do anything drastic and often win games.

I'm not a support main like my friend atmos though, and I'm sure he could tell you that there are some games he gets flamed by his adc, mid or top, but in all my personal experience I've never been flamed as a support.

And FYI I'm a top main, one of the most boring roles in the game. When all the action happens bot and your kill participation is terrible, you understand that I have less sympathy for people getting flamed as a support due to the fact that you can actually have a big impact in the first 10 minutes of the game and also remain really useful into the mid and late game.

And thats the one of the biggest problems, supports actually have a huge impact on the game but if they ever get any mention it primarily is negative. Thats why I'm on my way out of support and into top, almost more relaxing and makes you feel a lot more grounded in the effect of the game.
